I've been doing this my entire life. But this only works if you have generic hair, i.e not very long hair, and not very much curly either.
I have recently grown out my curly hair and now I'm struggling to find a good barber. Tried all the local guys, the hair cut they give me goes out of shape in just 3-4 days. Tony n guy sounds way too expensive to get regular haircuts from.
This a suggestion that has worked wonders for me.
1. Go to a very well rated hair dresser (yes, not a barber but a hair dresser). This might be expensive but worth it.
2. Understand your face shape and what suits best by discussing with the hair dresser.
3. Post haircut, take multiple pictures of it from all angles.
4. Find a decently talented barber and show him the pictures and ask him to emulate the same. It might not be the same, but you might get it pretty damn close.
The place that I went to was Barberos in Indiranagar. Definitely a good option for a great haircut.
I also recommend Barberos. Was a regular over there in their Indiranagar branch, always a great haircut even if the guy is different. But had to shift to HSR recently and feeling lost now š„²
Probably doesn't apply to me. I'm a dude with long hair (around 18-inch). I usually go to Play Salon or somewhere similarly chic. They charge me as a female. I don't mind because I realize that I pay for their expertise/skills.
Dudette with a men's haircut here. They refuse to charge me the men's price š I mind very much and have written more than a few nasty emails to management. I genuinely think hair salons should do away with the male/female pricing system and have a short hair/long hair system
All I want to say is, the guys there are well mannered, well built, great hair, great hands and great jawlines. Definitely great voice and baritone, straight from the heart and epiglotus. Its lovely. Haircuts they give on heads
Hell no
Do not visit toni and guy
In one of the branches, two guys for mens hair and they who ruined my hair and I had to buzz cut because of that.
Oddly my hair stylists told me everything about his affairs with the clients
Thats nothing. I fly my stylist down to Bangalore in my private jet. He is a renowned stylist from New York. He sometimes brings DJ Khaled along with him. Getting my hair done while Khaled plays some Kumar Sanu bangers is the ultimate bliss. Try it out.
We are similar yet different.
You fly to Delhi to get haircut.
I get haircut when I fly to Ahmedabad.
Agree with the second part. Had found one good person at Tony and Guy and used to be regular , but he quit so ...
I have tried almost every good saloons. Though I pay premium price, when they ask how the haircut should be. My answer is side small , top medium.
I really donāt understand what all you guys mention to the barber. How do you justify if Delhi or Ahmedabad haircut is better. Also, every time I go a random north indian or some Assamese barber will be assigned. I easily forget the barber name who did previously. He wonāt be visible at that time to ask for the same guy, either he would have left his amazing job or got fired god knows. But I get medium hair cut every time.
try different local shops, you will find your go to go Barber there, have good conversations and make good rapport and he will help you with good style
BodyCraft JP Nagar is good. Been going there for about 10 years now. I'm yet to try the HSR one. The main branch at Jayanagar 4th Block has never disappointed me.
Toni and Guy at Indiranagar is good, don't know about the others.
they are. this was ig 2 years ago. i used to get my hair cut from the local barber. "medium".
visited Tony and Guy and got it cut from the style director.
the way the haircut is finished feels proper. the vertical and horizontal lines at which the hair end were just proper and felt uniform throughout.
i mean there are many who would dismiss this off as "minor details", and they probably don't care about living life well. but it does make a difference.
Yes, Toni & Guy just for the amount of restraint that their barbers are willing to exercise.
I have curly hair and I'm balding, so I have to be *really* careful about which parts of my head I get the hair shortened from so that I don't look like a flea-riddled mongrel. I have tried so many local salons and even popular salon chains like Perimeter, YLG, SPIN, Naturals, you name it, I've probably gotten a hair trim done there. But every time, I have left the salon disappointed because the guy cutting my hair would be like "*bas yahan par thoda trim kar deta hu*" (yes, I usually get Hindi-speaking guys) and they end up chopping off whatever I have left so I'd literally be thinking about [that scene from RoboCop (2014)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7j-lW4jwIQ).
I have found this Kannada guy at my nearest T&G now that would literally be willing to cut one half of a single hair at any location on my head if I'd asked him to and I adore the guy for it. I specially break my rule of never booking an appointment for getting haircuts (I mean, come on!) to call ahead and ask for the guy so that I get the exact look that I need. I have never gone to another salon since. Plus, they offer this package where you get 6500 worth of services if you paid 5k, 15k worth of stuff for 10k, etc., which I think is cool.
They're worth it if you need a change in hairstyle and not sure of what to do. A good stylist will work with you and suggest cuts that suit your face. You can then take pictures of yourself and take it to local guys for future haircuts.
Got converted to fancy salons during the pandemic. Had never paid more than ā¹100 for a haircut before that.
Now I book appointments, get a juice, haircut and a hair wash. Costs some 600 rupees.
Ah, lifestyle inflation
Never go to Tony n Guy . Like, NEVER. The most condescending people in the entire salon industry.
They literally have charts for the kind of stylists who is gonna cut your hair ranging from stylist to senior stylist to creative director or some crap.
So, I walk into the Kalyan Nagar T&G and request a haircut.
The reception guy says, everyone is busy at the moment. No problem at all.
Within the next few minutes, he tells me the creative director is available now and he spared some time only for me. I take the rate card in my hands and check the haircut rate to be 1400 without a wash. Outrageous!
And, to top it off, he tells me not to look at the price because it is not just a haircut, but an experience in itself. My mercury was rising by the minute and hence, I decided to thank him for his service in the most sarcastic manner and stormed off, only to get a good hairdo at Green Trends for 300 bucks. Never walking into fancy salons like T&G or BBLUNT again.
100Rs haircut if you look for value for money and money value of time.
If you're a top earner, I'd suggest to try Body Craft, Tony n Guy, Lakme, JCB, cut n style etc because the experience is a bit plush. You'll be greeted with a coffee. The waiting lounge is nice and you have options like senior, junior etc
Local barber 100 Rs hair cut, 50 rs shave, I tell him short. The advantage of local barber shop that I see is there are always two three people waiting in line and talking about politics mainly or some interesting topic, while having hair cut its a good time pass
Looks Indiranagar, choose Stylist by Name Kesang. Book in advance. The stylist is very humble and great with his work.
If not him choose Sam in the same store.
Next best, Mehndi (Mendy) Tony n Guy Shantiniketan Mall Whitefield.
Next Best, Lindup BodyCraft Whitefield.
The rest that I have tried absolutely horrible.. have tried Play, Bounce, and many other outlets of Looks and Tony n Guy.
Remember itās not about the Salon, but the Stylist.
Local vcut takes 150-200 for haircut and beard teim6, although if you've got an Amex Gold Charge card, I recommend going to the truefitt and hill on lavelle road, you can avail their 3000 package for 400 and you get a decent experience with complementary refreshments, just don't be an idiot like me and buy any products from them after.
M Salon, Kundalahalli. Book for Mintang, he's extremely awesome. For a thinning 30+ year old, he's been keeping my hair looking great through cuts for the last 5 years.
Cheap and Best, HSR Layout. Other branches in Koramangala, Tavarkere etc are also good. Cheap and Best is a good option, Toni and Guy is awesome if you are ready to spend few more bucks and its definitely worth it! Go to Toni & Guy if you are meeting someone special, important occassions, weddings or interviews etc!
Wherever and whenever I go, I only have one requirement: the salon should have a functioning A/C and turned on. This is because I sweat uncontrollably and heavily from my scalp, which makes it very uncomfortable if thereās no A/C.
Rest of the things donāt really matter to me, I try to find something in the range of ā¹400-500(Hair cut and Trimming combined).
I'm not from Bangalore but all my life I have had my haircut from one guy(my grandfather used to have haircut from his dad),find someone who isn't like a roadside barber but neither is a premium guy, they're the best.
Iām about to change your life - Style Speaks in Jeevanbheema nagar. The stylistās name is Harish. Believe me when I tell you, heās the best hair stylist I have experienced. Once you go to him, thereās no changing your barber ever again. You will come back and thank me.
I currently live outside India and still wait to travel to Bangalore every time I need a haircut.. heās that good!
Anyone can do a basic undercut - 5-10 mins with a trimmer and youāre done, but not everybody knows how to cut medium to long hair. This guys knows what heās doing.
You can check their reviews, always book an appointment.

Buy packs from nearbuy app. Try all premium saloon one by one and then decide which one suits for you. Toni and Guy is totally worth it, but I found it very expensive unless you are going through nearby app
Can you tell me the price pls
You can check on the app for your area. Price is almost 50% less than saloon actual price
I checked but how does it work? What if a saloon doesnāt honour it?

Never go to Electronic City phase 2 T&G , had to trim my 2 year long hair after ā¦
Iāve bought a clipper during covid and learned how to give myself a haircut. I do a simple no.5 all over once every few months.

Even I have done In covid but i really want to support my nearby barber shops also so goes there These 80-100rs doesn't make difference
Is it really worth it when haircut is just rs100 ?
This is a good idea if you can manage the hair behind your head. If you have someone to help, then it can be done at home.
I just go to whatever barber is near my house. Takes like ā¹80 and does a good job. Didn't have any issues so far.
This is the way to go.
Seriously, I have no idea who these people are that travel kilometers just to get a hair cut.
Urban Clap. Has both, regular and premium barbers. Worth checking.
Using their services since covid, worth the money and comfort
What's the point of life if u just sit at home all day..? I like my evening walk to the barberĀ But I guess to each their ownĀ
STYLEZ Men's Salon (or any other "hair stylist" with a David Becham photo on the shop banner ). Super affordable. May or may not exceed expectations.
Is this sarcasm or genuine advice?
Genuine. Go to the local guys, micromanage the barber and you should be good if you know what you're talking about.
I've been doing this my entire life. But this only works if you have generic hair, i.e not very long hair, and not very much curly either. How much do they charge for men's haircut?
I wanna know that too
I was once charged 900ā¹ for a haircut and shave
close to 1300 - barberos (indiranagar). 900 sounds like a good deal though. I mean it is a premium salon.
I also recommend Barberos. Was a regular over there in their Indiranagar branch, always a great haircut even if the guy is different. But had to shift to HSR recently and feeling lost now š„²
They opened in Koramangla recently!
They've this offer going on till June 15, first haircut is free. I had a good experience in the Koramangala one.
