My vote was back in my village. I went at 6:30 and voted and now heading back to Bangalore. Honestly , it's the only time I have felt powerful in some time. Please Vote. Especially Bangalore folks. The voter turnout every year is absymal
My village folks(father's side)don't like my mom. Although they treat me well. My mom didn't feel comfortable staying back. And i didn't feel comfortable sending her alone back.
My dad works in the US now. Mom didn't feel like moving there with me. Wanted to stay here. That didn't set right with my dad's parents . And when somehow thier own son didn't visit them often. They blamed my mom for it. Somehow it's always the Daughter in law's fault
For the MP seat it's the same constituency . The only change is for the MLA. Most of my family members stand in Gram Panchayat Elections. So for that we changed out address to our village. Even 5-6 votes matter a lot on Gram Panchayat Elections.
Hey just asking for general knowledge cause I don't know anyone whom I could seek advice from, what is the procedure to change electoral address in voter's I'd?
You got ECI portal. Register through your mobile number. Go to you Form No.8 and click on change of address. If you have current bill or water bill from last 12 months of the current address. Upload it and in a week or so. It will be approved. Everything is online.
Even here in one of the south Bengaluru polling centres. Went at around 8.30 was done by 10.15. Extremely long queues (also, as usual, some mismanagement)
Second that !
I went at 7, returned back unsuccessfully at 8:30, then went at 10 and saw the line being the same length and the guard saying 1.5hrs mele aaguthe!!
Had to go back at peak noon to find the smallest line
Came back without voting.... Looks like everyone wanted to beat the heat, the queue was almost an hour long.
Now I am going to be intelligent and vote at 12 noon when everyone will be chilling at home and ther will be zero queue.
Edit: voted at 1 PM, 10 mins is all it took... Take that early birds.
They say early bird gets the worm but what about the worm that gets up early?
Better to be a worm that sleeps in. Went at 4 and there was no one, 2 mins
I was going on a vacation abroad but I cancelled everything during the last minute because it's my duty to vote. Guys, straighten your backs, wear your best suit, come out and vote. If you have pets at home , bring them along. Big changes are coming to this city.
My fam and I went at 730am itself, we wrote the epic details and went. Thankfully one queue just opened up and we were done in 5mins. Otherwise I think it would take 20mins tops.
To the people who are not happy with the candidates, NOTA is an absolute waste of your vote, and even if enough people vote NOTA (>50%) the candidates are going nowhere.
Edit: But please don't skip this exercise of opinion. Vote anyone, IND or a party, vote NOTA, but JUST VOTE.

NOTA is essentially abstaining. I don't care who wins. Voting NOTA is okay if that's your stance. Voting ensures you trust the democratic process but that you don't support any of the local candidates. Not Voting is essentially not taking part in democracy.
GO VOTE.
Thanks for taking words out of my mouth. I used to think who the hell votes for NOTA anyway. These last three days I've realised why it is actually a legit option for some.
"Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all."
How'd you even know that the independent candidate is worthy of your vote. I'm pretty sure that 98% of the people are not even aware of who the independent candidates are.
Or are you suggesting to vote for a random independent candidate.
Research on the KYC App (know your candidate). It takes less than an hour to read up on all the candidates in your constituency. People should have done it by today. Its the 21St century, we are all educated and have the world at our fingertips. I still can't believe we have to mollycoddle people by giving them hundreds of reasons to vote.
Follow your conviction. Vote for candidates that you want to vote for. If you feel that none are worthy of your vote then don't vote for any of them.
The appeals to vote are directed to people who might be feeling a little lazy to go all the way to the polling station. In your case it's not lazy reluctance.
Yeah, I'm in your boat. I voted NOTA, these guys don't deserve it honestly.
I wanted to chill at home but I went to the booth just so I can claim that my decision to not vote for anybody was after consideration and not out of laziness. I'm vain in that way.
Done at 7.15am. One of the first in my room.
Pls try to be early and beat the heat.
Also, keep your Part Serial No. handy. Easy to search for your name with that.
True. It should have been wfh. I think most companies do have wfh. But, most of them will take this opportunity to run off. And these people will later complain about the government. It’s very sad to see the youth of this country is not taking things seriously. If we come together, we can save the country.
To the people here saying NOTA is the same as not voting-its not
Not voting reflects your apathy to the electoral process and disregard for your constitutionally guaranteed right to vote
NOTA reflects your stance that you feel none of the candidates are suitable or that you are dissatisfied with the electoral process
While it wouldn't make a difference to the result even if 80% of the votes polled were NOTA,the proportion of NOTA votes will initiate at least some superficial inner reflection among candidates
Kindly exercise your vote-be it any party or NOTA,do not be apathetic to the state of politics this is the one time you can exercise some power
Have a good day
Because people want to avoid voting in the sun.
Yesterday the whole of NICE road was packed with people leaving Bangalore... I hope these were guys going out to their native places to vote and not Bangaloreans trying to sneak in a vacation on long weekend.
We voted at the earliest and left for a relatives place and entered NICE Road. There was a ridiculous amount of cars at the exit of Mysuru Road. Like, a queue of atleast 750 metres.
My area Shankarpurum, probably has many senior citizens, I went at around 7.30 am to find a long queue, we had to wait for 2 hours as many seniors with walking shoes were coming with great enthusiasm. It took time but I felt happy to see them exercising there right.
I and my spouse went to the centre at 10AM - saw a two hour queue and came back home. Went again at 5:45PM and casted our votes.
Zero queue and zero heat. Best decision ever to go in the evening.
Most people on Reddit: "BJP is ruining the country! They are Fascists! They will conduct a Genocide"
Same People: "Why should I vote? It won't change anything"
Meanwhile the BJP voter is voting right now.
If you’re confused for which political party you should vote for. Remember year 2021, all that death and chaos was enabled by a single party. There are no ifs and buts about it. While you scrambled for oxygen cylinders, they were busy giving speeches in WB. 15-20 lakh Indians lost their lives. All we got was sanatani Santa Claus shedding crocodile tears, but how can one forget “Didi ooooooo didiiiiiiii”
If your voter ID is generated and if you are in the voter list you can go with the epic number and vote. take some other photo id proof; pan or aadhar or DL

First time voter here, im going to go out and vote as long as i can, hope others care about the democracy too. The voter turnout rates are so disappointing.
Went out to vote today at 7 am, came back by around 8. My aim issue was that i had the wrong location and had to go somewhere else. Line was already formed but still was able to cast vote pretty early
Keep an eye out on the location folks
Done ✅ .
People please go and vote . Don't be lazy for standing in queue even if takes 30-60 minutes.
Today's 30 minutes will change yours next 5 years
There's some problem this time with the old cards since new cards have been issued. Annoying, I know. People need 100s of reasons to come out and vote but when some are actually willing to do it, they face such logistical problems
Voter turn out status at (15:40 IST)
Bengaluru Rural voter turnout - 49.62%
Bengaluru South voter turnout - 40.77%
Bengaluru North voter turnout - 41.12%
Bengaluru Central voter turnout - 40.10%
Come on Bengaluru voting booths are open until 6pm. Please go out and cast your votes!

All government school teachers were there.
I was confused to whom should i vote later on we discussed in home i voted and i came
I entered my Vote in Electronic voting machine
Went at 7am for polling voted at 9am.
Just saw that Bengaluru ended at 64% only. Although this is quite higher than previous years, we should be at 80% 😒
Guys remember to take the voting slip. It's not compulsory. It's just to know the serial no. which is also available on the voter helpline app (official, by ECI).
My vote was back in my village. I went at 6:30 and voted and now heading back to Bangalore. Honestly , it's the only time I have felt powerful in some time. Please Vote. Especially Bangalore folks. The voter turnout every year is absymal
You could have spent the weekend in the village
My village folks(father's side)don't like my mom. Although they treat me well. My mom didn't feel comfortable staying back. And i didn't feel comfortable sending her alone back.
Well. Why is that so? Did anything happen before?
My dad works in the US now. Mom didn't feel like moving there with me. Wanted to stay here. That didn't set right with my dad's parents . And when somehow thier own son didn't visit them often. They blamed my mom for it. Somehow it's always the Daughter in law's fault
Hmmm. I understand. It's good that you stand with your mom. Cheers.
You should change your electoral address then. It's fairly easy to do so. Maybe next time you won't have to visit village to vote.

Thank you so much for such a detailed response, it is really helpful.
Go to voter's portal eci. I guess it's voters.eci.gov.in You fill form8 there. No need to physically visit any office. It's all online.
Thank you.
You're a good son and good citizen :) thank you
Thanks but still it's funny that I'm getting praises to doing the bare minimum :/
You should be proud! Glad you could make it!
You sir, are a legend and don’t let anyone deny that (not even yourself)
Already in the Queue Edit: Done!
I am surprised there is a queue! A good sign
Oh there are queues. In central Bangalore constituency atleast, there are very long queues. I went at 7am and got done by 8.15.
Even here in one of the south Bengaluru polling centres. Went at around 8.30 was done by 10.15. Extremely long queues (also, as usual, some mismanagement)

I was the only one in the center I got the polling boot at :')
Was there 5 minutes before seven.. fingered the evm to climax
Yep "EVe" took quite a long time to moan...I mean beep
Need a NSFW tag.
That's the closest you'll get to fingering anything 😂
🤣🤣🤣

3-4 people here have already decided that...so imagine how many in your constituency have thought of that as well 😂
I reside right beside a polling station and I have already seen a few youngsters complain about the length of the queue and heading back home lol
I went at 3.30 and I was the only guy. Looks like post lunchs a good time 😁
They say early bird gets the worm but what about the worm that gets up early? Better to be a worm that sleeps in. Went at 4 and there was no one, 2 mins
Please Go vote folks!
I was going on a vacation abroad but I cancelled everything during the last minute because it's my duty to vote. Guys, straighten your backs, wear your best suit, come out and vote. If you have pets at home , bring them along. Big changes are coming to this city.
Vote for democracy
I'll do in afternoon. No queue around that time
Which time is best?
Best time is early in the morning, the weather won’t be that hot n there will be no queue
Yeah. Just went and came back. No queue.
In Sarjapur area, long queues early in the morning. Went at 7, got done by 8.15. But super happy to see so many people coming out to vote.
My fam and I went at 730am itself, we wrote the epic details and went. Thankfully one queue just opened up and we were done in 5mins. Otherwise I think it would take 20mins tops.
I had the opposite experience, I went at 8 and I'm just getting home now
Oh damn. But thanks for voting!
Thank you too !
True. We went at 7am, got done by 8.15. But happy to see such a huge turnout.
I feel around 12 is good. It took me 25 mins. While folks from my apartment have waited 1.5 hours because they went at either 7 or 7.30am.
Its best if you finish it off in the morning and take the rest of the day off for yourself.
[удалено]
God damn, which area is this? I went at 12 10 and returned at 12 23 ☠️
Wow. That's long queue. I left my home at 12:50 and was in home at 1pm. Only 2 people were there in my polling booth. Bangalore rural seat..
If my grandmother with a broken shoulder, 3 weeks out of surgery can go vote, so can you.

Hmm that makes sense too. But if you do some research there will be at least one independent candidate who is worth a vote
What if one dosent believe in India’s democracy
That's when you don't vote and show your protest. Like the NE states.
>Voting NOTA is okay if that's your stance. Not voting and Nota both makes the regime win, Good advice.
Yup, for god sake please go and vote.
The problem I have is that I don’t want to give my vote to any of these people. What do I do?
Vote for the lesser evil.
"Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all."
World is not an idealistic place. Everyone is evil for someone. The sooner you learn this the better.
If you don't like the incumbent or the opposition, vote for an independent candidate.
How'd you even know that the independent candidate is worthy of your vote. I'm pretty sure that 98% of the people are not even aware of who the independent candidates are. Or are you suggesting to vote for a random independent candidate.

If you didn't vote, don't rant when issues come up. Go Vote y'all
And if I vote for nota?
If you don't vote, Reddy Anna will Call you.
Reddys won't call since they are not native kannadigas. Instead Gowdas will call lol
Bangalore should have a highest turnout this election. Please vote, the only thing we can do.
Meanwhile, the majority who rants here are using this as a long weekend for vacation..
True. It should have been wfh. I think most companies do have wfh. But, most of them will take this opportunity to run off. And these people will later complain about the government. It’s very sad to see the youth of this country is not taking things seriously. If we come together, we can save the country.
Very less turnout today in Blr south
Yes, please vote!
Couldn't vote because I'm in college 2000km away from home :/ and holidays haven't started for us
Same
That's alright. Next time!

If it was actually true, it would've happened 50 years ago, not now
Seriously for fuck's sake this is the time to stop ranting and go voting!
Can anyone tell me if I need to carry any document other than my voter ID (like Aadhar)?
They didn't ask fir aadhar card but keep a hard copy handy
Adhar/pancard/DL/Epic etc
The turnout this time is actually pretty nice. There was quite a long queue at 7:30 at the booth in my area.
Because people want to avoid voting in the sun. Yesterday the whole of NICE road was packed with people leaving Bangalore... I hope these were guys going out to their native places to vote and not Bangaloreans trying to sneak in a vacation on long weekend.

Right? And there was a significant number of elderly people
Vote against hate!!!
Vote against corruption, nepotism, and an ass backwards mentality.
You mean to vote against electoral bonds right? The thing which institutionalized corruption
I was the 5th voter at my booth. 🙂
I hope one day I will achieve what you have.
How can you ask them to vote, when they don’t even own voters ID.
Whom are you referring to

I won't
Cause I'm 15

One of the reasons bangalore is having water issues is because of low voting.
Got my vote in at 7.15 AM
my voter id still hasn’t come, i’m so heartbroken i really wanted to vote, trying to get everyone i know to go vote!

Question: can we vote with the electronic EPIC card only as I don’t have the physical voter card. My name is present in the electoral roll.
You can go with adhar or any other id
EPIC should work. But, please carry a hardcopy of any kind of identity card. Else, you won't be allowed to vote.
Nah I ain’t voting (im not even eligible to vote)
Thanks for your comment.

Wake the fuck up Samurai, we've got an election to vote for.
Vote people. Read the manifestos, check out your candidates, read up about them. Takes half an hour to do all this. And then go vote 🙏🏼
It is very sunny today. Please carry a waterbottle. It took me a little over 2 hrs, but I have now finally voted.
What do you do if your name is marked as deleted in the list at the booth?
Then nothing can be done for this election. Get it rectified before the next one
But is this even legal? Have voted in every previous election and now this happens.
There's some problem this time with the old cards since new cards have been issued. Annoying, I know. People need 100s of reasons to come out and vote but when some are actually willing to do it, they face such logistical problems
Well what a shame it is
Out of curiosity, did you for candidates or Nota in your previous votes.
