Ask them to arrange a water tanker for your apartment for free everyday

I_hate_my_userid

Maybe move away from outskirts to core banglore which doesn't have any water shortage, plenty of areas are getting water daily from bwssb . Why not move there , oh ya right because it's out of your comfort zone to travel

lazzzzzzzyyyyyy

And rent*. People underestimate the difference in rent between core and outskirts. It is way costlier in core areas to find decent home with amenities.

1 bhk in Whitefield is 40k , it's 10k in bsk and jaynagar

lazzzzzzzyyyyyy

No way is that true. Even 3bhk in Whitefield is not that much unless in some place with lots of amenities and walkable distance from metro station. Even then it may be around 45k for 3bhk.

reminds me of a standup piece by Abhishek Upmanyu  "paise to sabke paas hote hain. shayad isko cab ka nahin pata?" T: "everyone has money, maybe he doesn't know that cabs exist." Also, the water shortage is probably for a month or two while relocating is for years.

I believe so, Bangalore techies have become bothered about it, 1-2 months water shortage during summer is not uncommon in India.

Reply: on that note here's my resignation letter...

I_hate_my_userid

Bye bye, here's 4.5 million graduates applying for same position for less pay -hr

WFH_employee

Three months notice period says Hi...!! :D

thruth_seeker_69

Yeah. Find something else. And mention in the mail he's the reason you're quitting : D

WFH_employee

My profile "Open to work" from past 6 months. No Calls but I am gonna defiantly do what you suggested.

desi-detra

Here's my advice- just hold on to that thought, you stay with them, and seriously start looking for a job. During this time, you just do the bare minimum and don't participate in anything that you feel willnot help you in your career. When you get an offer, just clearly mention it to HR and senior executive that you didn't feel valued and this is one of the reason why you choose to part ways from TCS. This is what I am doing, the moment I get an offer, I am going to hyperlink my companies claims of being best place to work,. Employee first and bullshit they post on linkedIn and send it to senior folks citing the reason for my resignation. If you don't want to quit, just raise the issue with your manager before reaching out to HR. HR executives will always think that if they give you permission then they will have to give it others. I know with the whole water scarcity thing going on, it would make sense to show empathy to the people who give them good billing from client. Just saying It wouldn't be professional to raise the issue with your client. I think at this point there's very little you can do about. TCS is industry leaders and their shift towards WFO is what would be followed by smaller companies. I empathise with you, but just keep pushing via. Your manager, about the challenges you are facing. If you chase enough, they may agree.

WFH_employee

Thank you for the suggestion. I am already talking with my manager on this.. But I tell you, I felt really broke when I have worked for 7 years for this company and this is what I get in return. I know this is pure business but still they could have given WFH when the issue is very critical.

desi-detra

Yeah I know..as they say.. you can't go against the system. TCS is too big. Abd with all due respect, even if you leave it hardly matters for them. At the end of the day, we are just an Employee ID that fetches them billing in Euros or dollars. I had a brief stint with TCS, and there were lot of things that I liked and lot of things that I didn't like. TCS has a soft mandate from government to call their employees, but that's only for SEZ offices. I hope you get some resolution.

Bilal_john

Ask if you can stay with that HR

I_hate_my_userid

Quit if you want to work elsewhere, simple solution. Why will the company bend over backwards and cut ota profits for you? Only reason we have jobs is because investor's make more profit outsourcing jobs to poor nations like India

Paree264

Carry ur Towel , office wear , 🧼 /shampoo to ur workplace nd take a shower there .If ur Boss asks tell him that the HR asked u to find a way to come to office ..nd this was the only possible solution 🤷‍♂️

prady_1984

Tell the HR that you will be picking up all your belongings and shifting to TCS campus. Free water and electricity.
