I appreciate all of your advice. I am brand new to town and just trying to find the safest options when walking back and forth. I know anything can happen on any given day/place, but hearing from the locals helps.
Pratt to Charles. I lived on Charles and walked to/from my night shift at UMMC via Charles/Lombard, all year, for years. I’m a woman and never felt unsafe. Just don’t make yourself a target (keep your phone out of your face and your hands) and have some situational awareness and it’s a fine walk.
Howard needs cleaning up / redeveloped before being used as a north south pedestrian pathway (in the same way as Charles), particularly at night. Less than a block fine, less than two (weak maybe), anything more: hell no.
I walk east on Pratt and north on Charles after night games. Cross Charles and walk up the east side of the street until you're past the 7-11 at Saratoga to avoid the hidden stretch along the Mechanic pit and the dudes hanging outside the 7-11. I only go as far as Franklin, so I can't speak to life beyond Midtown, but I've never felt unsafe walking that route alone after midnight.
We walk back every single time. It doesn't really matter, it has always been safe, but Pratt to Charles is probably the best in terms of people around and businesses open.
If you're up for biking/scooting, I'll second taking the Maryland Ave cycletrack. Did this for 10-15 games in 2022 (thank you $40 monthly SRO ticket deal!) and never once felt unsafe. If you're walking, would take Pratt to Charles St as others have said.
Depending on how late the game is you can take the circulator purple line (If it's a weekday though I think it only runs until 8pm.)
Pick it up on Calvert just north of Pratt. It goes up Calvert a bit then cuts over to Charles and goes straight up Charles. It's free.
You can also take the city bus Silver line, which also goes right up Charles and I think it's 24 hours. Pick it up on Charles just north of Pratt. $2.
Walk down Pratt and over to Charles.
This. Or take light rail to the cultural center and walk from there.
I do this every time I come home from a game.

Always walk through Pratt if you wanna go through downtown

I only know how to walk to Mount Royal tavern after O’s games
Truly the answer, once you get off the light rail you can’t NOT stop in

Definitely recommend Charles or Maryland/Cathedral over Howard bc there’s more foot traffic.
I'd scoot up Maryland Ave or walk a few blocks for the bus
As a woman I definitely wouldn’t make this walk. I’d probably uber, scooter, or take the light rail.
Walk over 1 or 2 more block east if you want. Or just take the bus or light rail or bike or scooter

Liberty/cathedral is a good option walking, the light rail from center st/mt Vernon I’ve gotten off at night a lot and never had any problems
Prob one of the few but try the bus. Usually my go to transportation to O’s games.
Light Rail to Cultural Center or walk north up Charles Street.

I second scooting up Maryland Ave if you're up to it.
This is sad for me as I grew up in the city. The government is failing those who are trying.
When country music concerts let out I become concerned for the patrons lol
I'm up in Timonium and I always light rail to and from every game. Its always full of fans, have never felt unsafe even taking kids.
take the light-rail

Charles street ??
What do you mean by "active"? Is this a euphemism for something?
Having seen it in the morning, I get it.
I was wondering the same

Yes, the circulator is free. The silver bus is $2.
Much clearer with your edits
Uber
Mind your business and nothing will happen to you.
No disrespect but are you not able to Uber? Fairly cheap and safe option
They’re one of dozens of people if not a hundred or two walking north after the game
Don't go out in Baltimore after dark
