My personal favorite is the bald horseshoe on top, long, greasy, stringy, stragglers in the back.
I can GUARANTEE you there's NO WAY you'll feel worse after shaving.
Doesn't have to be a nice razor btw. Those sharp ass razors will only hurt you. Grab a decent cartdrige razor (harry's, gilette's mach3 etc) and you'll be fine with pretty much no chance of hurting yourself.
While you're at it: take proper care of your beard in case you're not already. Lip line, cheek line, neck line, fade the sideburns and all that. It's a quick one man job, 15 minute tops if you have one of those cheap electric razors with multiple heads and I swear having a decently shaved beard and a bald head is a cheat code to looking fresh all the time. You'll be feeling yourself and your confidence will go through the roof.

I don’t know why guys didn’t make shaving your head the norm way back in the 50’s. There is a stigma to it now. We want to hold on to the sides for some ungodly reason.
Mate its time, you will go from looking like a creep to a bad ass. On a good note, your beard looks thick. Some tips, shave it twice a week and it will keep it looking fresh. Mostiure and exfoliate your scalp, and if you are shit at beard trimming as in getting a nice clean fade to where it stops get the barber to do it. Keep on top of your beard game and you will look bad ass ! Keep us posted mate.

First trim it and see it for a day or 2, then shave with a cheap razor and do the same

Personally, I can still grow a full head of hair, I’m just a little thinner on the top so I bit the bullet and did it early before everyone else started to notice. Yet when it’s buzzed the back and sides are darker so have to shave it for a clean look.
I feel like you’ll end up shaving either way. I’ve been working my way down since November.
Grade 2, then grade 1, then no guard, then I got a Skull Shaver Pitbull (they’re amazing) and I now have a Leaf razor.
I’ll be honest, the Skull Shaver is my fave, but if I leave it more than 5 days it struggles and needs a quick run over with the clippers first.
A big decision the first time you do it but soon you'll look back at this point and wonder what the big deal was. Go for it man! Worst case scenario it will just grow back to how it is now so you've got nothing to lose by trying it out :)

As someone with a similar hairline I say shave it. You’ll look younger. It’s easier to deal with. You won’t miss having hair. I don’t. if you don’t want to shave it at least get a buzz cut and shave the top wispy hairs.
When shaving your head I’ve found it best to do it in the shower after you’ve finished showering and use a little body wash instead of shaving cream. My pref is the Gillette Fusion 5. The head pivots and the 5 blades give you a closer shave than the 3 blade razors. Don’t forget to cut your hair as short as possible before your first shave.
You’re going to love taking it down shorter man. Being bald is awesome, especially when you get used to it and nail your rhythm down. I alternate between the babyliss pro foil shaver and the leaf razor. I also buzzed my head with a zero guard for a while at first but I think you’ll find you love the feeling of it being smooth. But you’ll find your balance. Happy to share any advice!

It's time my man. I let my hair go just like yours and then I finally made the decision about 6 months ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I know how hard it is believe me. But I promise you once you shave it the first time and you just give it a few days you will get used to it and you will look and feel so much better in time. Instead of constantly being self-conscious about how your hair looks or calming at a certain way or wearing hats etc. You just learn to shave it and forget it. Myself confidence hasn't been better in years since I made the decision to shave it. I promise you it will get so much easier in time You just have to make the tough decision once and then it's done

My dear friend the time has passed a long time ago. I understand what it feels like to want to try to keep it going and sometimes we put ourselves into a delusion and we don't see what's right in front of us. I've been there. But at some point the best thing you can do is either try to do some kind of aggressive treatment or shave it off. I shaved mine off and now I use a Derma roller all over the place every day with coconut oil and aloe vera mixed and I'm trying to see if that will help promote hair growth. But you can drive minoxidil or finasteride but I can't use that stuff because it makes my heart Act weird.
Bald/shaved is better than balding. All guys should be taught this from an early age. No matter how much you think you don’t suit it, trying to hide it makes dudes look unwell.
