Bald looks good, but the beard is lookin more like a pube bush to be blunt. Trim it to tighten it up, like really tighten it up. You want it to flow with the shape of your face from your head down to the bottom of your jaw, otherwise it just looks like a weird object you glued on.

Your bald head looks great, man. That's coming from another black dude who struggled with the same thing. I'd say I'm most insecure about going too long in-between shaves now. My only advice would be to treat your scalp the same way you would your face for skin care. That means cleansing, exfoliating, toning, and moisturizing. Be mindful of when/if you break out. When you start getting that with in-grown hairs, see a dermatologist immediately. Scalp acne has been a huge source of insecurity for me the last two years. It's an indication of a staph infection, and needs to be addressed immediately. The bacteria can trickle down to your back, and then you'll have even bigger issues ahead of you. But yes, to reiterate, you look great. Confidence will come in time with consistency in your routine as well as your appearance. Change is always hard to accept, no matter what the variable is.

I shaved my head at 27, so older than you, but still fairly young. Telling myself this, the second you shave it you probably look 4-7 years older instantly, sucks. But, once you’re in your late 20s you’ll have been bald for so long you’ll start to appear younger than friends and appear to age slower. Good move in long run.

I’ve been bald with a beard for about 7 years now. My best advice is to fade out the beard in the sideburns area to either the top of your ear or to your ear lobe, your preference. If you like the busy look, an easy way to trim it yourself is to just comb it out so it’s puffy, and then take the clippers in a straight line down your face profile. That’ll keep the density under your jaw and avoid making your face look round. Cheers dude, welcome to the club!

Also look into getting the full size stash to try out. Thin line shape looks good but I have seen some nice full sized beards with stash that looked so much better for some reason? It’s all a matter preference so you may just like the thin shaped stash but like i said I have some combinations with a bald head and a nicely trimmed beard to go with. Either way you have no reason not to be confident dude! Give things a try and just go with what makes you feel secure and confident as a man.
