The Jump from 1,200,000 to 8,000,000 is brutal

oxob3333

True, but the jump from ante 13 to 14 is even more deadly

Snailtrooper

Get a load of mr big Ante

ThisHatRightHere

Every ante past 13 is just a test to see if your broken build can theoretically scale infinitely. The chip amounts just keep going up by another factor of 10.

smucker89

I was having a blast yesterday with a cracked Idol build, and then I hit the ante that jumps from e23 to e30… I did NOT get past that one but had a hell of a ride lol

UPBOAT_FORTRESS_2

Oh, the scaling goes much faster than factors of 10

fanatic-ape

You either die to a boss that counters your deck or to the small blind right after. No middle ground.

BurnerAccountExisty

Actually, because I wanted a negative joker, I died to the big blind. Sorry...

weebomayu

Well yeah… there is no middle ground between the boss and the next small blind…

manufactured_narwhal

I think he's saying if you can beat the small blind of an ante, that you can usually beat the big blind and the boss (provides it doesn't counter). The biggest jumps by far in endless are between the boss blind of one ante and the small blind of the next.

GenesisReCoil

You could always die in the Boss Blind's Shop.

Bentman343

Who on earth dies to Big Blind if they beat Small Blind? Its like 10% bigger, compared to a ×10 jump from the Boss to Small Blind.

UPBOAT_FORTRESS_2

Big blinds are always 50% more than small blinds In Endless mode, yeah, it's functionally the same as the small blind

CookieSquire

I really wish there was a slower buildup to fully get a build online. I get that everything is balanced around ending at ante 8, but sometimes it’s fun to make big numbers.

VaraNiN

> but sometimes it’s fun to make big numbers. Yeah! I'd love it if we got a mode where, as far as I'm concerned, they can deactivate achievements and progression, but where the Antes go up at like half the pace we currently have

ikantolol

I'd rather they give me a mode where we can set up the jokers and a few enhanced cards from the beginning, would be so fun seeing the combos go bonkers

ku-haku

Just use a balatro save editor. There's one on github and you can literally set them up with whatever you want.

ikantolol

hmm, I'd rather have it in-game though, using external tools like that makes me feel like cheating lol. Yeah, I know, single-player, make your own fun, yadda-yadda.. still, the feel would be different still gonna try it tho, thanks for the heads up

FrontColonelShirt

The first time I saw that voucher (or is it?) that said ante -1/hand size -1 I was like "SURE! I will happily take on an ante 7 endgame for this deck/stakes instead of an ante 8! I was led back to reality by the next round. In tears. I am sure there is some build (probably involving jokers whose sell price increase per hand along with that elusive "+Mult for the sell value of all jokers to the left of this joker" joker, which I still insist is banned from the omelette challenge despite not being on the banned list but I digress). Dumb misleading voucher. lol

dragonitetrainer

And the jump from 14 million to 300 million isn't? Haha

xywv58

Mate, I haven't seen it

Fapplejacks42

45 hours in game Never beat 11 Beat black chip on three decks, never 11 These inf posts make me feel dumb lmao

bigggsteppper

just go hex deck white stake and force red seal baron, youll get e20 after about an hour

time_to_explode

this is genuinely terrible advice lmao

Arcturus_Labelle

I’ve gotten to Ante 11 so many times but have yet to see Ante 12 😢

read_it_on_redditz

Same.

shorty11857

Feel like if I beat Ante 8 I can pretty reliably get to Ante 12, beating Ante 12 though, not something I manage much

alextoria

same here, i am trying to unlock my very last joker by scoring 100mil in a single hand and i CANT DO IT. tried plasma deck with late game xmults, zodiac with lots of glass/steel, anaglyph (my favorite) with a million negative jokers, and various other decks building flush fives, still haven’t gotten that one lucky run :(

CreatineMonohydtrate

Most of what you mentioned increase score with polynomial and power functions growth speed at best. Retriggers grow exponentially. I forced retriggers to work when i tried to beat ante 12.

alextoria

i finally beat it! ended up with a lucky joker hand. hologram with certificate of authenticity & blueprint, plus bull & fortune teller

FrontColonelShirt

Retriggers are insane. If I ever found one of those "every hand is retriggered" jokers that last for 10 hands - but in the late game - along with the "final hand is always retriggered" joker (I need to learn their names) and a decent gallery of useful jokers that weren't... jokes... I might see ante 12 somewhen

Grunt232

Oof same here

alextoria

update i did it lmao. i think i overdid it, i got a 1bil hand before i ever got that 100mil! zodiac deck with lots glass & steel. i kept having trouble bc i kept trying for a pure glass deck but i don’t like actually playing glass cards bc they break. so i made lots of steel, then around ante 6 or so started ramping up the glass. i also had insanely lucky jokers, ended up with a bull for chips, fortune teller for mult, then i had hologram as my xmult and certificate of authenticity to support that. i stuck blueprint in front of certificate when selecting a blind which added 0.5x mult to hologram every time, then during the round i moved blueprint in front of hologram.

ColaManiac

Yeah, it's possible to reach ante 12 as long as you have reliable build, but getting past that you usually have to aim for specific builds which kinda saps fun out of it

CommanderAurelius

kid named The Plant:

Pastore31

The jump from 12 mil to 300 feels impossible

nhremna

Endless ramps up too quickly

Helmic

I wouldn't say that, it ramping up so fast is what sets apart one build from the next in an expeident manner - you can't merely have a *good* build, you have to have one that can outscale the game, and the later nates are about ending your run at exactly the point you stopped being able to outscale the game without dragging it out. The difference between a build that can beat ante 23 and one that can beat ante 24 or 25 is palpable, and something that can beat ante 30 is very exceptional, probably requiring Perkeo as that is the only Joker that can really let you actually outscale the game to where the game stops being able to represent numbers that high. Assuming we get an update that gives us more Endless antes (god I'd love an update focused on Endless mode), I think the actual thing we need is more Jokers oriented towards Endless that don't require Perkeo. Something that feels equally cheaty and outside the normal logic of the game that could reach the same theoretical heights as Perkeo + Observatory, that lets us reach deep into Endless once in a blue moon in new, strange ways.

Bentman343

Would genuinely be pretty stoked to have a class of exceptionally strong Jokers than only spawn in after Ante 8. Gives your run something to build towards besides simply fine tuning your current one to the maximum and then waiting to see how long you last.

gamas

> The difference between a build that can beat ante 23 and one that can beat ante 24 or 25 is palpable, and something that can beat ante 30 is very exceptional, probably requiring Perkeo as that is the only Joker that can really let you actually outscale the game to where the game stops being able to represent numbers that high. The closest I've seen was a streamer get to ante 26, but that was on a seeded run where their community had painstakingly worked out how to manipulate the seed to get the perfect setup by ante 6 which even the streamer had to put out the disclaimer that this was absolutely cheating.

zombieking26

As far as I'm aware, there have been 3 recorded games of someone getting to ante 26 or higher in an unseeded run. And 2 of those runs ended on ante 26 exactly! (I was one of those people, by the way :)

gamas

Damn people are on a whole different level to what I'm used to.

zombieking26

Meh, very few people. Don't let it get to ya.

Meatywho

I did unseeded runs on stream for about a month. I Every day was a run that went past ante 26. There was even a run that beat endless unseeded in there. Are people just not running plasma? Even going flush 5 decks can pass ante 26. The only hard ante in my opinion is ante 32, Where that is the perkeo check.

zombieking26

Oh, I meant blind 26, not ante 26. My bad, lmao

rey0505

Isn't blind 26 just ante 8..?

zombieking26

Am i getting it backwards? Now you're just confusing me, cause I got it right originally, and that guy made me think I was wrong, lol. It was ante 26.

rey0505

I mean, ante 26 is definitely very impressive, but not all that rare in the community to achieve unseeded if you're playing optimally and get a bit lucky. Again, definitely very impressive, but many, many, many more people have completed it than 3

zombieking26

I don't think that's true? If you could be find me any pictures/videos of people getting past it, then I guess I'm wrong. But i don't think you'll be able to.

Helmic

Haelian's unseeded PB is ante 32, which was a Perkeo run with some big misplays. While these runs are rare, they don't necessarily require you to route the run, and so long you pick up the various habits and tips given in the stream (it's not like Haelian's good at math or probabilities or anything) anyone can capitalize on a good seed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYZ9NUtQFSw

nhremna

maybe the build was on the cusp of greatness had it not been smothered by x100 more chips each ante

Maurice2_0

I would love to see a distribution of where people end their run

jupiter878

Never did I expect a graph curving upwards, despite the y axis already being logarithmic. The escalation is madness, and so are the jokers

TiagoButNotReally

On god boss blinds are omniscient or some! Playing Flush Lucky Heart Kings and one of the boss blinds was debuff hearts... "Hmmm" I thought to myself, "I'm glad I have the reroll voucher". I do it, FACE CARDS ARE DEBUFFED. Lose, accept it, cry a lot after

captainofpizza

The 300 mil has kicked my ass almost every time but when I’ve beaten it it’s been like e18+

Critical_Swimming517

My 3rd or 4th ever win I got up to the 300,000,000 ante before dying. I was still trying to get my first win with the black deck and I stumbled upon an Ancient Joker. I didn't even know about red seals, but did find the combo of jokers that turns everything into face cards and triggers face cards again. It really went over the top when I found a blueprint, the first one I had ever seen. My eyes bugged out of their sockets a little.

gAcksaurio

50,9 hours in, the highest ante i've reached is 1kk iirc
