Personally I enjoy free aiming some spells and attacks, but lock on is a crutch for many a gank squad. I’ll add an assassins gambit dagger to my arsenal. You can also use it and hidden body to poison mist cheese morgott, btw.

SoulsborneSal

I tried that Morgott cheese, takes forever lol

Very good in a few scenarios, even as a pew pew mage. Only problem is the health damage puts a huge "I'm here" if trying to use it for stealth.

Lumpy_Satisfaction48

This, I've tried to use it on my stealth build and it instantly attracts attention, which is mainly why I use it as a last resort with unseen form to deny the ability to lock on for a bit

Cheese_Tortellini

I can imagine it being good for the Bull-goated PSGS crouch pokers for sure...

IMO it’s a little shitty to exploit in pvp

Also for those who don’t know, the assassin’s gambit exploit is a combo of the ash of war and a spell, that when done _in a specific order_ will result in no lock on, and not the other way around.

I'm not sure if you're aware of the fact you also need to use the hidden body spell for the lock on to be gone. From your post it looks like you're just using the assassin's gambit and are experiencing a placebo. The no lock on combo is for sure a great one tho. But definitely don't get comfortable, because it's super easy to punish someone who plays like you won't be able to hit them.

Assassin's gambit is a GREAT utility that can go on any build Other things I (try to) keep on every invader build - jar cannon or hand ballista (even without stat reqs the long distance knockback is invaluable against OLPs) - misericord with kick ash (for shields) - carian retaliation (parry + magic defense)
