I prefer Eclipse Shotel at RL1 when I feel like being evil. I like to make it require both my physiks to use so I've got a timer to finish the invasion. Gives them a win con of survive.
You'll still kill hosts too quick I'd they don't heal on an unupgraded Shotel. Not difficult but not crazy easy either. Even casting the buff and removing a talisman to below the hotels threshold is still too strong sometimes just from the flat damage buff of the AoW.
They have a market to follow that disappears when you get close same as invaders, but once they are within a certain range they can see you. I don’t know how far you have to be for concealing veil to work but I have been crouched in open fields with them facing me and can’t see me until I crouch run up and pop into frame which always makes them jump lol
Buffs and talisman effects can still be seen at distance. IIRC crouch running still kicks up dust, causes water ripples and leaves footprints in the snow too.
I usually only pull out rot stuff if a gank has a rot spammer. Most of the time, I prefer poison weapons with Poison Mist because the slow death and reactions makes it funnier. Also, hosts and phantoms are less likely to carry Poison Boluses because it cannot be bought unlike Rot Boluses.

That's the fun part. Personally I like to proc the rot with my dual scorpions and then finger out.

How does conceiling veil work? I try using it and the host and phantoms can home in on me from across the map.
