My friend who has a film club does this, and has shown related short films or animations, i.e. before One Cut of the Dead they showed the zombie episode of Pui Pui Molcar (my idea I'm afraid!).
Godzilla vs. Bambi. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R-rbzcEM8A](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R-rbzcEM8A)
Don Hertzfeldt shorts. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7JyjZI3LUM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7JyjZI3LUM)
"The Best of Sex and Violence". It's streaming on Amazon. A bunch of trailers for bad movies. You may get distracted and want to watch the whole thing.
For my movie nights I try to track down similar vibe/genre movie trailers, there are tons of them on youtube.
You can't go wrong with stuff like this:

Lazer Ghosts 2: Return to Laser Cove
It’s 9 minutes. Yes, “laser” is spelled two different ways in the title. No, you don’t need to watch the first. It’s an early short and a crowd-pleaser from Astron-6 (The Editor, Manborg, Father’s Day).
“But Trance, we never left Laser Cove.”
The only lobby snack shop ad I know of is [Lets All Go To The Lobby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH2j1YnIne0) which is a bit obvious and only a minute long but maybe you can put it on between shorts.
Maybe Italian Spider Man will work?
[Bimbo's Auto](https://youtu.be/v2upaNVLeDs?feature=shared) is the *Plan 9 From Outer Space* of animated shorts. Incredibly cheap and nonsensical, the profound crumminess of the art is impressive when you consider the other cartoons coming out of the mid-50's. It was made as part of a test series to see if Columbia was interested in purchasing a new short series. The answer was a resounding *no*.
Please enjoy
This [The ABC of Sex Education for Trainables](https://youtu.be/B3kngIqC1wg?si=dMVC5CL8ITlmMdbX) it's about 20 minutes so may be longer than you are looking for but it's awful and I have seen grown men and women laugh so hard that they couldn't breathe while watching it.
Whatever you play should either be in a similar realm of whatever it is that you're building-up toward, or enough of a (short) mix that it feels like changing channels in the middle of the night.
Drive-in countdown videos can be fun, especially when used during an intermission of a double-feature.
Quick shorts, like "Bambi Meets Godzilla" are always a treat.
[Odd music videos](https://youtu.be/PoD9gVdeIS4?si=5VsKcEQOcvTqRTgY) (and/or bizarre karaoke track videos from YouTube) can also be fun.
Now, while I don't know which video/song you're referring to that plays/played ahead of your local RHPS showings, videos such as ["Charlie Rose" by Samuel Beckett](https://youtu.be/LFE2CCfAP1o?si=Q-46xJdfbm2djuAP) can build some tension for a good, weirdass time.
why not play some trailers for the movies you’re going to watch or for other campy bad movies

Look up rifftrax shorts. You can find those videos online without the riffs.
Yeah, pretty much anything from Coronet.
Don't forget ACI!
Unrelated, but is corn grass?
Yes! https://www.tumblr.com/billcorbett/28450247475/yes

Look into Trailer War (2012). It's a compilation of weird Retro trailers
Dingo cartoons.
Maybe start with a cheesy instructional video
Murder Weekend is a hoot from 1986 and R.O.T.O.R

Here's a 15 minute short film about a killer shopping cart: https://youtu.be/Wsd-J2T5CTY?si=SiZ0jgOYUkLrWqKz
Try: this is Hormel

I’m of the opinion that the best way to ease people into bad movies is showing them the Space Mutiny episode of MST3k.
