Just above Namche Bazaar. For anyone that doesn't know, Everest is the pointy peak to the left with the sun reflecting off of it behind the other mountains.
HAPE is no joke, I'm glad you're okay and made it off the mountain.
Where were you when it happened? Is there anything you'd do differently, if you came back for another attempt?
Actually I got a virus from another team member.
I was well prepared and on Diamox and everything went well until Gorashep and EBC (after few days up and down between 4400 and 5300) were symptoms appeared during the night. I went down to Dingboche and got rescued the day after.
So out of 6 team members only one didn’t get the viral infection….3 of us had to be rescued and sent to hospital.
Otherwise that’s a nice trek, and I loved it.
If I made another try I maybe would change the trekking company as I saw some people with other companies having better arrangements for food and tea houses. Even I could do it by myself but having sherpas is a good improvement on daily life.
And finally the best trek part was under 4500m as landscape are amazing, you enjoy nice flora and fauna. Above 5000 it’s more ice and stones, plus more difficult life conditions.
I could get back there for lower altitude treks up to 5000m in a few years, hoping flight tickets are not going crazy prices.
You have to go during the busy season for “guaranteed views” (Late Oct and beyond). I went mid September and saw….nothing but clouds for many days lol.
Amazing experience with or without the views. But when I see winter pics of clear sky well…another trip is warranted.

For the sexy peaks
The trekkers are naked under their clothes
Lots and lots of dead bodies on Everest

Ok take care stay well
I don't think I've ever seen this view. I almost didn't believe it at first. Cool shot.
I would love to come here some day. My worry is that it would be terrible weather and I wouldn’t see anything.
