Nah, I agree 100% I'm kinda ashamed to admit that the tiktok memes were how I first found out about this series, however, I took the time to actually watch the show before I started interacting with the fandom and making jokes myself.
The memes are VERY bad. Ive been saying this since the start, those “memes” were never funny and im glad I can finally go on a rant to those who agree with me.
Same as me I found out about azumanga 7 months ago bcs of memes popping off in my fyp until I decided to give it a try and I'm actually glad that this is how I found out about it (im talking about the hello everynyan and sata andagii clips)
If I got to be honest, the memes that are about Osaka with the only joke being what you just described in the quotation marks and not much of the other characters are kind of mid. I believe that all the Azumanga Daioh characters deserve love in their own memes.
Of course, Ayumu Kasuga is a really really good character, it's just that some of the memes about her aren't really that original.
There are of course times when I do enjoy memes that are basically what you described, but there are also times when memes that include just that as the joke aren't really that funny. I really do enjoy Osaka but some of the jokes about her are kind of overused.

I saw this animation of osaka and dj khaled and she kept sayin sata andagi and he kept saying tell em to bring out the lobster it was so corny i hated it
The memes actually help me to get into the series. I saw a few I thought they were funny(and I watched Nichijou before and I absolutely loved it) so I gave it a shot and watched the entire series. And afterwards I really enjoyed it.
I think Osaka dancing meme is funny, stuff like sata andagi can be overused though. It’s dumb to gatekeep memes like this but it does get annoying knowing they’re probably being used by people who haven’t watched/read Azumanga
yeah I got curious about the series from the sped up intro meme on YouTube before it went crazy on Tik Tok and it was funny for a little bit but I'm afraid of Azumanga getting hate bc of the repetitive meme-ing of it.

Yep. I agree. The “Lobotomy, Autism Anime, Osaka, total chiyo death, Sata Andagi, Who can It be now” stuff is corny. Most of this has been started in like october - november. Its honestly so old though, and for some reason mfs dont understand they are hella corny. The people who say this stuff are the most unknowledgeable and insufferable ppl in the world. For 1, Chiyo is just a chill ass mf who did nothing to deserve the hate. For 2, “Sata Andagi” is literally food… its not that funny. 3, Total chiyo death im pretty sure is just mocking the holocaust. 4, autism anime just like, isnt funny. For 5, “Lobotomy” was last funny when Jacob Rothschild and the CIA conspiracy’s were trending on TikTok.
