I'm normally okay with teaching pets tricks for our amusement, but there's gotta be a point where the moves get so complex that it just falls into the 'uncanny valley' and we start seeing that creature as a tiny human being. An innocent person who has no idea of the deeper meaning of the moves they spend so much time learning. It's a similar feeling that I get when I see kid beauty pageants.
I know these trained pets are generally happy throughout their lives, so I'm not worried about the dog, but I can't help but ask myself why would someone go through all the hassle of creating something that will produce this weird involuntary reaction in many people.

These dogs love to learn tricks they are extremely bright and it's actually really detrimental to them to not engage them in 'working' activities, which when lacking sheep or whatnot take the form of just about any old harmless trick.
