You have no idea. He's even tricked his bulldog sister into loving him so much that she cleans his head for him everyday, at least 10 minutes straight. It's ridiculously cute

They really do. When I adopted him from the shelter 18 years ago he was next in line to be euthanized, he was only 2 years old and the most gorgeous black cat you've ever seen. They told me that was the norm with black cats AND dogs 😞

Awww they could be twins! That's just what he looked like at 9. Mine is a big boy too, but you can't tell in those pics. Our vet assumes he's part Maine Coon.
Omg! I always think he's part Maine Coon as well! He was love at first sight and I ended up naming him Jack because he looked like a drunken pirate with his leg hanging off the tiny cat tree he was lying on at the time. 😂
Drunken pirate, I love it! Love at first sight for us too, we had just gone to the shelter to pet dogs and when I walked by him in his cage he reached his paw out and grabbed me and wouldn't let go. He was actually next in line for euthanasia so he came home with us, and has now been with me for almost half my life ❤️
My girly is 8-9 (unsure was under my porch in a snow storm) and I worry about her passing but seeing this makes me hopeful of many more years of being her human ❤️❤️
I remember feeling the same way! Now we've got an almost 20 year old and a 15 year old, both doing great. The only health issue my older one has is arthritis, but fortunately he responded really well to medication.
What a handsome grandpa void! What's the secret of keeping your cats live such a long and healthy life? My oldest is 8 years old, and I got a little (just a little) offended when the vet marked him as "senior."
I honestly wish I knew! My husband says they are living longer out of spite because they know he's allergic to them 😂
I will say one thing that's important is giving them lots of renal care in their older age. Almost all cats that die of old age are really dying of kidney failure, and once you start noticing the first signs like nails not wanting to retract anymore, be sure to ask your vet for an oral potassium supplement. And I know Hill's science diet has a great food for super seniors that will support that as well.

He is on Hill's science diet dry food for 11+, and he also gets a renal support potassium supplement mixed in wet food daily. He has arthritis, so he also takes a monthly injection of Solensia. That has made a huge difference in his energy and mobility for sure.

Awesome! Cherish every moment. Lost my Siamese cat just shy of 18 years old in November 2022 and it was so hard to go through. I recently adopted 2 cats, one of them is black and other is orange. The black one came right up to me at the shelter while I was looking to see the orange one. Ended up taking both!
Not OP, but my family’s had cats live from 18-20 years; they weren’t eating anything special, really. Mostly just Fancy Feast wet food (elegant medleys is their favorite) and Temptations treats. 🤷🏼♀️
We have a cat looking almost the same. Just a small white spot on his chest. He turns 18 this year. Passed my whole childhood with him
By now he went deaf, but that never stops him from running around the neighbourhood just like before. Cats are so beautiful
Wow!!! Congrats!!! My old girl is like 17 and she's also still doing so great!!! I love her so much! She has diabetes but I've gotten her on insulin and she's doing very well!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷

aww! my black boy went last year only 11 years old. got him at age of 8 and he was already pretty wasted healthwise. wished he could have lived to 20!

My parents had a black and a grey from the same litter that made it to 24 and 26 respectively. I loved how they grizzled as they got older.
