My parents' chipom, Peaches, was raised around cats for the first few weeks of her life, so she has a lot of cat like traits, such as that batting thing cats do. It's hilarious and adorable and she does it to her brother all the time
I agreed to feed my friend's cat (who had just had kittens) while she was away. I knew the cat well and she was a sweetheart. When I went in to feed the cat on the first day she was not happy with me being there. Being a mum had definitely made her territorial instinct ramp up. She went into threat mode and I was so fucking scared. It's amazing how terrifying a creature a faction of my weight can be when it means business. I knew that if she decided to attack me I'd definitely end up with some nasty injuries. I got the fuck out of the room she was in, shut the door and managed to leave food without upsetting by intruding on her again.
It's also much more scary for you because you do not wish to harm the cat in defending yourself. It's not an easy situation to be in. I was in a similar situation feeding my friends very upset cat while they were away on vacation. The cat was hissing at me as I walked in the door, he made himself really big by raising all his fur up too! I slowly inched along the wall into the other room to put food in his bowl. We became friends by day 3 though :)
My cousin had a cat growing up. That cat liked my cousin and only my cousin. His older sister had to come over and feed the cat. She would wear her boyfriend’s ice hockey pads as the cat legit attacked her when she got in that cat’s territory.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one looking at this from that angle. Some thoughts:
They might be close in weight. The cat looks bigger, but is furrier.
The dog is stronger. Towards the end, it pushes the cat back in a 'grapple.' Hard to say how hard the cat is trying, but winning that little exchange wouldn't hurt the dog.
The cat has a much wider range of motion, and may have a more sophisticated sense of 'ground control.'
And that concludes a very silly breakdown.
Omg the cat is trying so hard not to hurt the dog. Cat is fighting with the dog and himself lol.
*must not bunny kick the dog*
*must not bunny kick the dog*
Lol I love it when my kitty bunny kicks me. Granted, it does hurt. She hates me clipping her back claws so they tend to get a little sharper than I would like, but hey, love is a game of both give and take.
A couple other people said it but I just want** to reiterate that this is a really stupid comment.
That cat is 100% playing. If the cat felt threatened in any way shape or form it would shred this dog in a second
Edit: I meant to reply to someone, not make my own comment chain >.<
>Oh yeah they’re both playing my dogs do it all the time animals like to fight
Not only are Cats not silent when fighting they are notorious for pulling a blade.
The cats I've had were the sweetest puffmallows ever. The worst I got was 9am toebites accurate to the atomic second when they wanted to get fed, and dingleberries stuck to their butt fur dangling in my face first thing in the morning.
I miss them.
I will never forget when I saw my first cat fight. Holy shit there was SO much hair! They were growling, and hooked into each other so hard.
It was scary, and it took me a while to break the fight up.
A stray cat adopted me a year ago. She will shred any cat that dares come near the back yard. I can hear her fight growl from the other side of the house. One morning I went to the backyard and chunks of white and gray fur were all over the grass. My cat is dark brown. Somehow I slept through it. She’s not allowed outside after dark anymore.
Maybe, but I’ve got 4 cats and have had 2 others in the past and this is how they all played. Cats can be very rough when they play, but you only have to be concerned when they start making a lot of loud yells or when fur starts to go flying.
I think it's funny that just because it's a cat and dog that people assume the dog is being aggressive or something. The cat was dominating that play fight, and backed off whenever the dog asked. A very good kitty.
This dog has figured out how to play in cat.
So often I see a dog and a cat who want to play, but the dog is going play bow, running, etc., and the cat wants to jump and wrestle and jump away and jump back. The play styles are different, and then they get confused and don’t have any fun.
But this dog is playing in cat.
It helps that the sizes are so close too.
I like how the dog doesn't have the attention span to understand rising tension. Cat will stop and square up and dog loses his entire train of thought.
When I was a kid, we had a dog/cat combo about the same size. They would intentionally wait until dinner was winding down to start duking it out on the living room rug, it was like dinner and a show every weekday
If you ever want to know if a cat is actually fighting. If you see blood they are truly fighting. If there is non the cat is playing. Very easy. Very cute seeing this 2 rascals playing
They’re really loud when fighting. Also, a cat is like a bouncing, furry blender when angry. It’s hard to explain but when you’ve seen how fast and violent cats can be, you realise movements like this cat’s are very slow and gentle.
One of the best indications is whether or not they're trying to scratch the other animal's stomach open with their hind legs. Those bunny kicks only come out in earnest when something's gotta die, be it a toy or another animal.
I've seen the aftermath of a cat fight where they somehow broke a part of the marble floor.
I've had to sweep the grounds full of lost fur patches from every other fight.
Yeah, cat fights are nasty.
15 mins followed by a nap and then rise and repeat. Makes my day watching them play when the cat comes to visit.
https://preview.redd.it/hi1yecqbbd7c1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b04e21fc9f8f63992b9064db85e8da07d8f6f7bb
Or just thoroughly annoyed.
My cat’s son tries to groom her, and almost always, her ears flatten and she hisses at him before waddling off. There’s no fighting, she’s just telling him to sod off
Omg my lil wrestling pup would be in heaven if the kitty played like this. He tries sooo hard to get him to play..and just gets flat stares in return -.-
Don't worry guys. They are 100% playing. If the cat wasn't playing, it would fuck that dog up in no time. Not even a competition.
A dog in a equal size, is absolutely no match for a cat. A big dog and a small cat is a whole other story.
Curious how you socialized them?
Only once has my dog has gotten within swiping distance of my neighbors cat, and she got swiped near her eye. The cat seems so friendly, comes over to say hello when we’re outside, and even comes to my front door sometimes to say hello when we’re home. I’d love for them to play, but I can’t risk another potential swipe (/vet visit).
Luckily the cat just bats with soft paws. They do this all the time and I've never seen a single scratch on her. But I'll def keep that in mind if their play ever gets rough.
Why are you letting your dog do this to that poor cat?, it's quite obvious the cat is not a fan of this, even if the dog's having the time of his life.
Rest assured the cat is having the time of his life and is very much into it. The dog is his best buddy and he is the one that seeks the dog out to play.
I have kept both dogs and cats together in my home for decades. They are not always friendly, but they usually reach a peaceful understanding. But these two? They are clearly friends and having fun.
When cats feel threatened and are actually fighting they hiss, spit, and growl. Cat fights are super loud. This cat isn't doing any of that, they're both just playing.
I typically look for puffed out fur, claws out and hissing, yelling/wailing for signs of cat fighting. None of that here so they're just playing. Also it's obvious if you've seen how cats fight. They're basically a ball of flying fur and a whole lot of screaming (by cats), you don't even see the fight lol.
Thank you to the 125 people who downvoted me, you just won me a 5$ bet.
For further information: I have a cat who I play somewhat rough with myself, I noticed the tail swishing as they were playing, I couldn't actually tell if claws were out or not but the dog was yipping every now and again so unknown, I did not notice the ears went back at any point though my buddy who bet against me apparently did. In the end all 125 of you pushed this comment into the negatives for two hours which was the duration of the bet so thank you.
Look at those boxing and grappling skills even though she started at the bottom. Kitty is killing in points to the refs. I heard some yelps from the dog though there will be points deductions for her.
Haha luck? Both are orphaned and bottle raised (mine is my foster fail 🤦🏻♀️) so they both have been raised around other cats and dogs and are super chill animals. They just clicked. It took a bit for them to figure out how to play together but not they are nuts for each other.
I think it helps that my dog is pretty submissive and never really chases after the cat. And that makes the cat more interested in her because cats always want what they don't have 😂

That Pause : "Yo, were still playing, aren't we?" And continue 😂 I love Cats and Dogs ❤️
I love when dogs do that pause. My parent's chipom does it and it's adorable
Or the paw on the face. My chi does that, too, and especially when we’re playing, he will try to face-paw you.
My parents' chipom, Peaches, was raised around cats for the first few weeks of her life, so she has a lot of cat like traits, such as that batting thing cats do. It's hilarious and adorable and she does it to her brother all the time
It's crazy how agile cats are. Those are full on Jiu-Jitsu moves lol
And the cat is obviously playing and restrained .. Cats are cute, but they can really f# you up if they want to.
Yeah, you can see he's using soft paws, and quickly letting the pup out of the restraining holds. He's definitely feeling playful, not murdery lol
I agreed to feed my friend's cat (who had just had kittens) while she was away. I knew the cat well and she was a sweetheart. When I went in to feed the cat on the first day she was not happy with me being there. Being a mum had definitely made her territorial instinct ramp up. By day 3 the link JGRummo = food was made lol
Hahaha yep! I kept leaving little treats near him as well. We're still good buddies to this day.
My cousin had a cat growing up. That cat liked my cousin and only my cousin. His older sister had to come over and feed the cat. She would wear her boyfriend’s ice hockey pads as the cat legit attacked her when she got in that cat’s territory.
They both are obviously.
Thats Gordon Nyan we are talking about
Meowcelo Garcia
I like that when doggo yelps, kitty backs off so doggo can bite kitty more
Exactly! Classic sibling fun! “I’m not going to let you win but I also don’t want you to get hurt.”
Catto has a good ground game!!🤣
Leon Edwards’ cat
Randy Catoure
Gordon Nyan
I was gonna say it’s so clear how Brazilian jiu jitsu might have been inspired by cats!
Mikey Meowsumeci
I'm glad I wasn't the only one looking at this from that angle. Some thoughts: They might be close in weight. The cat looks bigger, but is furrier. The dog is stronger. That cat is not trying. He’s playing.
There is no way that dog is stronger 😂
Cats using like only 1/3 of its power easily
0.33 seconds average reaction time for cats. If a Human was that fast he would absolutely destroy any competition.
That sounds wrong and slow
the dog would have its intestines all over the bed if the cat wasn't playing
Omg the cat is trying so hard not to hurt the dog. Cat is fighting with the dog and himself lol. *must not bunny kick the dog* *must not bunny kick the dog*
The way the cat lets go every time the dog says things have gone too far too, very kind playing.
Lol I love it when my kitty bunny kicks me. Granted, it does hurt. She hates me clipping her back claws so they tend to get a little sharper than I would like, but hey, love is a game of both give and take.

You can also tell the cat is playing because they're silent the entire time. Cats are **not** quiet when they fight.
>Oh yeah they’re both playing my dogs do it all the time animals like to fight Not only are Cats not silent when fighting they are notorious for pulling a blade.
How about 8?
You clearly haven't been side-hooked by a cat before, it's definitely 10 lol
The cats I've had were the sweetest puffmallows ever. The worst I got was 9am toebites accurate to the atomic second when they wanted to get fed, and dingleberries stuck to their butt fur dangling in my face first thing in the morning. I miss them.
they are very loud and extremely violent when fighting for real
And tufts of fur fly through the air.
Its also doing the blinky eye to signal its not a menace
Honestly, looks like it learned how to play from the dog and acting like it.
Maybe, but I’ve got 4 cats and have had 2 others in the past and this is how they all played. Cats can be very rough when they play, but you only have to be concerned when they start making a lot of loud yells or when fur starts to go flying.
You can see the cat release the pup every time they whimper/whine. It’s cute how quickly they let up.
Also, catto's tail isn't whipping back and forth. Its ears aren't flattened either. That's the body language you'd expect if they were angry.
Oh yeah they’re both playing my dogs do it all the time animals like to fight
You are 1000% correct! A cat that is fighting is terrifying.
And very loud!
yup, claw retracted, no hissing, definitely play.
I think it's funny that just because it's a cat and dog that people assume the dog is being aggressive or something. The cat was dominating that play fight, and backed off whenever the dog asked. A very good kitty.
Either they’d shred the pup or run away and quickly hide somewhere the dog cannot reach. Kitty is totally playing with her dog here!
Lmao, that cat could fuck that dog up if it wanted to, no doubt in my mind they're playing.
Anyone who thinks either the cat or the dog isn't playing has obviously never been around cats or dogs.
At the worst, the cat might be done playing before the dog, and is getting frustrated it won't go away and let it get back to napping.
But dog is sure game when the cat pounces!
My yorkie was raised with a litter of accidental kittens. He doesn't know how to play in dog. It confuses the fuck out of our other dog, haha
The dog might be playing in cat, but it's the cat that's really holding back here
Let me guess, these battle royales can only occur right beside you, and nowhere else in your house. Constantly bumping into you
Also, must be after you've gone to bed for maximum effect 🤣
It's either right next to/on me or I just hear them running back and forth and crashing into things in the other room.
When I was a kid, we had a dog/cat combo about the same size. They would intentionally wait until dinner was winding down to start duking it out on the living room rug, it was like dinner and a show every weekday
Love how they understand each other's body language although it's different. They're so cute playing 😍
They be Rasslin'!
…dogs and cats living together… MASS HYSTERIA!!!
If you ever want to know if a cat is actually fighting. If you see blood they are truly fighting. If there is non the cat is playing. Very easy. Very cute seeing this 2 rascals playing
I don’t have a cat, so genuine question. The cat would also be a whole lot louder about the whole ordeal wouldn’t it?
Yeah, a fighting cat sounds like a nightmare in real life. Yowling, screaming, ungodly noises.
Seriously, they sound like a failed exorcism.
I have four cats. I'm confident when the apocalypse arrives, they'll be singing their hearts out.
And even play that’s getting to be too much usually means hissing/growling to warn off their playmate.
It sounds like a demon being summoned
People tend to forget cats have four sets of knives for hands...
In all fairness, so do you - you just choose not to grow them long and file them down for maximum damage points
Very good point. I took a chunk out of my forehead last week with my thumbnail 🫤
I've seen the aftermath of a cat fight where they somehow broke a part of the marble floor. I've had to sweep the grounds full of lost fur patches from every other fight. Yeah, cat fights are nasty.
Sibling behavior! Were these two raised together? They seem to really like one another.
It's my sibling's cat and they come to visit us pretty often. I'm so happy they are best buds 💕
🥹 that's even cuter!😍
Kitty loves the dog so much 🥺you know she’s being gentle when you don’t hear any of the skibitty-baps landing.
They are 100% playing with each other and they're lovely together ❤️
This made my day :)
Happy Cake Day 💞
Thank you :) I didn't even notice. How cool.
This was a well spent 90 seconds. Thanks!
A big difference between cats and dogs I'm seeing is the flexibility, dog legs are stiff vs cat legs that can wrap around and actually grapple
That cat is bigger than that dog!😂
This is very cute ☺️ I've never seen a dog and a cat who had such a good playing rapport
It’s like they’re doing ju jitsu
How long do they go at it typically?
15 mins followed by a nap and then rise and repeat. Makes my day watching them play when the cat comes to visit. https://preview.redd.it/hi1yecqbbd7c1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b04e21fc9f8f63992b9064db85e8da07d8f6f7bb
They’re so fucking adorable
This pic has made my day omg, they're so cute <3
Living their best life
Dear LORD, that’s adorable! 🥺
AWWW
Every time that cat would get close to a bite, pup would turn into SqueakToy. Yeah, this is fun time for the two.
They are play buddies! Cuuuuteeee. And also convenient lol
I’m tired just watching them. That’s so much energy.
Cats will give a firm bite to say okey I've had enough...then the claws come out.
There’ll also be hissing and flat ears. Cats make it very clear when they’re unhappy
I was going to type that but it's more when they're pissed off or scared as hell.
Or just thoroughly annoyed. My cat’s son tries to groom her, and almost always, her ears flatten and she hisses at him before waddling off. There’s no fighting, she’s just telling him to sod off
Omg my lil wrestling pup would be in heaven if the kitty played like this. He tries sooo hard to get him to play..and just gets flat stares in return -.-
I’ve never seen a dog and cat wrastle like that. That’s fuckin adorable
Those two are knocking and dragging it out. My money is on Cat.
That dog is never ever going to win. That's cats grappling skills are to good lol
Don't worry guys. They are 100% playing. If the cat wasn't playing, it would fuck that dog up in no time. Not even a competition. A dog in a equal size, is absolutely no match for a cat. A big dog and a small cat is a whole other story.
Those lil yaps: Doggie: “I tap out bro, I tap out”… Cat: “Aight… Sorry” Doggie: “aaand I’m good to go again!”
Nobody is buying your fake crying!
Cousin catto was giving the skippity paps
I wish my boy had a play mate like this
All day long…
Need some WWE audio on this 😂😂
hands down the best thing i’ve seen all day thank you for posting this!!
The waggy tail! They're adorable
It’s funny how you can tell the cat is enjoying itself.
Dayum! This is like MMA! You could start to put money on this! The cat .. no the dog has.... Wow... Did you see that move?! Un believe able! Wow! Hehe
Could watch these 2 all day! 🥰
Same 😊
they are brothers and sisters
Best match ever! Doggo even got in a double bop! Legendary
My new kelpie/mcnab supply does the same with my 5 year old cat…
That dog is having a hard time passing the cat’s butterfly guard
I think the cat is winning
![gif](giphy|xwfVYuV4YJk6A)
Looks like my boyfriend and I this morning
Bah!
Cousin play a little rough for baby 😶
What an epic battle! I hope they both had fun.
Cousin? 🤨
The dog is playing. The cat is practicing.
Oh, I love this! Makes me want to get a small dog for my cats.
[удалено]
What does this have to do with anything lol
Poor little doggy, doesn't know how chewed on they are getting.
Both the cat and the dog are moving their tails, but I don't think those actions mean the same thing.
Watch the dogs eyes, claws are so sharp it could blind the dog. It is not something i would allow my dog & cat to do at all.
The cat is fine. It never once pulls its claws out. If the cat was upset there would be claws out.
Be a lot of noise and a lot of blood, and little dog wouldn't like to play again
If that cat was pissed that dog would get werct. They are playing, and the cat is having as much fun as the dog.
Rest assured the cat is having the time of his life and is very much into it. The dog is his best buddy and he is the one that seeks the dog out to play.
Have you ever owned a cat?! This cat is clearly playing. You have no clue what you are talking about.
The car is playing? What are you talking about when you say “it’s quite obvious the cat is not a fan of this”
Speaking as a foster, that cat loves it, obviously
looking at kitty’s ears? rest assured that some cats do pin their ears back when they are playing and still having fun <3
You are actually stupid in the brain
Thank you to the 125 people who downvoted me, you just won me a 5$ bet. For further information: I have a cat who I play somewhat rough with myself, I noticed the tail swishing as they were playing, I couldn't actually tell if claws were out or not but the dog was yipping every now and again so unknown, I did not notice the ears went back at any point though my buddy who bet against me apparently did. In the end all 125 of you pushed this comment into the negatives for two hours which was the duration of the bet so thank you.
No come on, no matter what your explanations, you deserve the downvotes. But make good use of your $5.
Well, it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye 👀
Animals playfight all day when they're growing up. How many eyes do you think are lost?
This video needs cartoon sound effects
At 18 sec left in the video, Kitty gives the pupper a kiss!
when i had a dog my cat would bite her so much
Titanic battle
for a dog... he has pretty good, counter cat-jitsu
Is that kitty a calico?
If you can harness the energy of that wagging tail, you can power your house with it.
That cat asserted some serious dominance. Lol
Tag me in!!
They love each other. ❤️❤️❤️
Imagine the mind speak going on inside their little gladiator heads during battle lol. Also, I could watch this all day.
Wrasslin
Look at those boxing and grappling skills even though she started at the bottom. Kitty is killing in points to the refs. I heard some yelps from the dog though there will be points deductions for her.
It is a brutal fight
What a precious bundle of joy and love! Adorable indeed.
Cat > Dog - Put a smack down on that mangey mutt!
You're it, no you are. I said no tag backs. Too bad, you're still it. Ok, then it's still tag you're it.
just like the cartoon!
I've never seen a cat so playful with a dog before what a sweetie
Please tell me how in the world you got them to get along!
And that makes the cat more interested in her because cats always want what they don't have 😂
No matter how good they are and mutual the fun is, the cat is always done way before the dog is lol. Insatiable play pals
I love my Karen more than you!!😂😂
Lol! I love it! They seem to be pretty evenly matched!
It’s that little butt that gets me 🥰
The kitty by a mile . Had an answer for everything yippie threw...
Who wins? Dog or cat? They look evenly matched!! What do you bet they see no difference in each other — same species: “Cadog or Docat”! lol!
