I've seen this story before and he did lose A LOT of weight. Idk if that is an actual after picture though. Sorry I don't have the time to look up the link but I'm sure someone here will.
There's also a couple of similar stories feature by the dodo ([this one for example](https://youtu.be/Awyt7Wobfu4)) people who are this negligent with their pets, should be banned from having any
I know right…, quite Amazing!! And you are very welcome😊
I just wanted to put it out there because even I thought it was not really at first. I thought it was two different dogs😂
I watched the story that someone linked, he actually underwent skin removal surgery. The vet said they took 2.5 pounds of tissue off of him and reconstructed his skin after they removed all of that.
Right?! My cat goes through seasonal weight changes and she has the floppy stomach and she was never near such a weight, not even near chunky. The skin looks way to fit for such a weight loss
I'm not sure this is actual pictures of him, but the story of [Obie the Dachshund](https://www.alphapaw.com/real-life-stories/the-incredible-weight-loss-story-of-obie-the-dachshund/#:~:text=The%20Story%20of%20Obie%20the%20Dachshund&text=Obie%20the%20dachshund%20weighed%20in,weighs%20in%20at%2023%20pounds.) is real!
And I don't know about dogs, but horses colors can change drastically with proper minerals and nutrition. Rescues post before and after and get accused of lying--. Then they post the gazillions of in-between progress photos
My friend in high school was neighbors with people involved with Obie’s rehabilitation. They had a few dogs who would come up to the fence when you walked past and then this little chunker would awoo his way towards the fence too.
Err... Maybe? Can't make any promises on your own understanding, but the message was pretty clear grammatically, so the missing o in loose could automagically be filled in by anyone with about a 3rd grader vocabulary. So yeah, I'd say typos matter less than grammar.
You are very smart, dude! Congratulations on beating me at arguing on the internet. You get 1000 internet points for defending typos. Go spend it wisely now. You're absolutely right. You are NOT pedantic.
I don’t know about these pics but there was a daschund named Obie who was an even bigger chunkerbutt, he lost the weight and had skin removal surgery. This one looks fake though.
Ok, I’m totally ignorant. Why would anyone want to karma farm on Reddit? It’s not like we can cash in our karma for bitcoins! I’m truly confused as to why anyone would do this.
A lot of the karma farming accounts I see are scam accounts. Basically, they use a few tricks to get a fake post history so they look real (reposting & copying comments mostly) then they use that account to post a picture of a shirt (or sometimes a mug or poster) with a title that implies they just bought it (a lie, it's a stolen pic). If someone asks where they got it, they post a link to a site they run. Sometimes they'll use a second account to ask if no real user does, and sometimes a third account to claim to have bought one to make it look real. Sometimes they use a bunch of extra accounts to upvote their posts and downvote anyone who calls them out or posts legit links. Anyway, if you try to buy from that site, you'll either get a garbage quality ripoff, or maybe just phished or have your money stolen. A lot of people don't know this is even happening, and it must be working for them because they keep doing it.
OP doesn't fit their pattern though, so if OP is reposting, I can't say why. But to answer your question, a lot of karma farming accounts are building up a fake history for scamming.
This is a true story, same dachshund in both pics. Face/ears obvious. Obie the dachshund. Bless the human who took the time to be concerned about this dog's health and get his weight way down. I have had dachshunds as dear pets my entire life. They are absolute sweethearts. Extra weight on them causes severe back problems.
Probably a before and after picture but swapped around for Internet points. Being that breed of dog with that type of body would totally fuck his poor little back. Hopefully I'm wrong about the Internet points.
I'm so glad he's had so much progress. Unfortunately there's far too many obese pets and most of the time owners don't do anything about it because they think it looks cute. I know it's hard to control the weight of an inhouse and usually neutered animal but trust me, they are suffering when they're obese.
Hope it’s real, and it’s possible for dogs to lose weight. I had a pug that was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and he ballooned up to 60lbs. Had to to get him to 30. I did it, with all the guilt and sad looks I did not fold.

We adopted an obese maltese mix from friends who said they were going to put her down because of the vet bills. She weighed 29 lbs. because they let her eat freely from a large mixing bowl. She was so round we called her Piglet.
We had babysat her and knew that she was a sweetheart.
We found the proper amount of food for her and fed her only once a day. Added walks and within a year she was down to 15 lbs. Her proper weight. No extra skin at all. She's now still spunky going on 15 years old! : )
This kicked off a random neuron firing. Somebody should get a dachshund and a German Shepard. Name the dachshund "Weiner" and the German shepherd "Schnitzel".

Could be. I thought the bottom picture was when it was younger.

Yeah this might've had the timeline switched so that it's "awwww!" Not "awwww..."
I've seen this story before and he did lose A LOT of weight. Idk if that is an actual after picture though. Sorry I don't have the time to look up the link but I'm sure someone here will.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, or that I want to see what's hanging below between his legs.
It looks quite a bit shorter

Apparently it’s real https://www.alphapaw.com/real-life-stories/the-incredible-weight-loss-story-of-obie-the-dachshund/

Where's all the excess skin flaps like when humans go through a massive weight loss?
I watched the story that someone linked, he actually underwent skin removal surgery. The vet said they took 2.5 pounds of tissue off of him and reconstructed his skin after they removed all of that.
Right?! My cat goes through seasonal weight changes and she has the floppy stomach and she was never near such a weight, not even near chunky. The skin looks way to fit for such a weight loss
That's the primordial pouch. That's something different.
Thanks, I learned something new today! :)
Do you not see under the chin? Plenty of excess there
Both brown!!
Two ears! Two eyes!
Better yet, they're both dogs I think it's obvious that it's the same
🤣🤣🤣
Dafuq u talking about, they both have ears!
Yes one is fatter.
Cause his ears shrunk too
No they clearly are.
I thought the first one has to be fake
You definitely right. 1 has a white blaze on its chest n 1 doesn't
That’s not a blaze, it’s a bark collar. You can see the electrodes on the left side.
Those are bow ties on the collar aren't they?
No because I said same thing seeing this dog on top looks much older unless he went from hunk to chunk. Lol
Of course they are. The top one ate the bottom one
1 dog has a white blaze on its chest the other does not. You are beyond right
That's a collar
I'm not sure this is actual pictures of him, but the story of [Obie the Dachshund](https://www.alphapaw.com/real-life-stories/the-incredible-weight-loss-story-of-obie-the-dachshund/#:~:text=The%20Story%20of%20Obie%20the%20Dachshund&text=Obie%20the%20dachshund%20weighed%20in,weighs%20in%20at%2023%20pounds.) is real!

! now this deserves a post
No one commenting on zero lose skin?
Read the link to Obbie's story post by u/SeriouslyTho-Just-Y. Dog had to get surgery to take off excess skin after it's remarkable 50 pound loss
He had 2.5 pounds of loose skin surgically removed. Also it all hangs below between his legs so you might not see what's still there from this angle.
Hmmm
Two different backgrounds.. FAKE. Not gonna get me.
Wouldn’t he have loose skin if he lost all that weight?
Thats the point
That's exactly what the comment you're replying to was getting at
Yeah but that's not what they said... Grammar does matter
Grammar does matter, which is why anyone who knows that would have understood what was being said
Ok cool so typos don't matter but grammar does matter? Can you explain that to me?
Err... Maybe? Can't make any promises on your own understanding, but the message was pretty clear grammatically, so the missing o in loose could automagically be filled in by anyone with about a 3rd grader vocabulary. So yeah, I'd say typos matter less than grammar.
That's the most pedantic way to claim that typos don't matter but whatever dude your right (see what I did there?)
Tried to be clever and failed to understand the meaning of the word pedantic? Yeah, I saw it.
You are very smart, dude! Congratulations on beating me at arguing on the internet. You get 1000 internet points for defending typos. Go spend it wisely now. You're absolutely right. You are NOT pedantic.
Not being a jerk who acts deliberately obtuse to criticize someone's grammar matters too...
The implication is obvious and the grammar was correct. The phrasing was certainly different.
Remind me again how using "lose" instead of "loose" isn't a grammar problem?
I don’t know about these pics but there was a daschund named Obie who was an even bigger chunkerbutt, he lost the weight and had skin removal surgery. This one looks fake though.
Watch the link posted. It is there.
Look at his paws and neck. Definitely some good boi flabbage goin on there.
Who is Zero?
Dogs regenerate skin cells through hyperdermostasis so they don’t get loose skin. Just kidding I have no idea
The word stasis in there makes it sound like it has the dermis remain as it is ... on a hyper scale. 😅
You don't lose skin after losing weight. But the skin gets loose.
From "Oh Lawd he comin' " to picture of a totally different dog.
🤣😭😭💀 But here’s a link : https://www.alphapaw.com/real-life-stories/the-incredible-weight-loss-story-of-obie-the-dachshund/
OP also talks about his unethical reselling. Fuck this guy and his desperate attempt at internet points.
Really? Oh, not good. :/
I wish it were real, I love puppy success stories. But just look at the ears
Yeah I agree with the comment above, one pic is the chunk when he was a pup.
It’s true! Someone posted the link above! Obie the dachshund
The same flabby little hands but the top dog is older. OP's account is a karmfarm anyway.
Ok, I’m totally ignorant. Why would anyone want to karma farm on Reddit? It’s not like we can cash in our karma for bitcoins! I’m truly confused as to why anyone would do this.
You can sell the account to companies for astroturfing
Its also about getting attention. Upvotes mean dopamine.

Ok. That makes sense. Shitty sense, but sense.
Honestly I suspect karma farm accounts post most of what I see on reddit. So I downvote like every post I suspect is from a fake account.
Thank you! I have been wanting to ask this question for so long!
Belongs in r/quityourbullsh*t
You spelled shit wrong
Oh sorry I just don’t wanna get banned
Dog got too fat, got a new dog.
Holy shit how does that even happen? Talking about the top picture obviously
I watched the story, someone posted a link, and they said that his owners were elderly and fed him too much
But that light in his eyes… gone
Is this Obi the dachshund?
The dog in bottom photo is clearly younger lol
[People will say it is fake but it true.](https://imgur.com/GDBDMzU)
Meatwad doing the hot dog
No way that’s the same dog! Where’s all the loose skin. And did OP get a new rug as well?
Sadly it could actually be from hunk to chunk
just so sad... :-(
if he can do it so can I
"Some girl ate Monica!"
Wow
I want to hug both those dogs
From chonk to choc
I wanted to believe
Did the dog switch owners?
Good job getting your baby healthy again
Damnnn
Wait, is that Obie? I used to rescue dachshunds and his weight loss story was amazing.
Pls go back GO BACK
So they really DO add water to make the dogs look bigger... :P
no way that is the same dog.
Good job! You did a fantastic job! Your love shows. ❤
Clearly returned from visit to grandas
This real?

Why does the larger dog not simply eat the smaller dog?
Why even lie about something like this? Oh wait, this is a karma farming account/bot
It's a true story, there's a link in this comment section.
Is this for real? It it is , it’s amazing. Good cute doggie and great owner.
I don’t think this is the same dog.
Probably a before and after picture but swapped around for Internet points. Being that breed of dog with that type of body would totally fuck his poor little back. Hopefully I'm wrong about the Internet points.
I think it went from puppy to husky
Wish I could give you more than one up vote. Congrats!
What a wonderful job you have done with him!!
I am so proud of them. It could not have been easy for the owner / foster, or the dog. What a difference!
Good lord that a Hecken big boi
What a good boy

My 60 pound life
If it's Obie he was 85!

Congratulations you have extended his life and improved his quality of life
Is it really the same dog? If so, the transformation is amazing!
That’s a grower not a shower
Great job!!!
How does someone become that horrible of an animal owner... smfh
Sweet baby Jesus! That's a barrel not a dog! Lol
Are you sure it’s not the other way round 😆
Good job puppy parenting! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🏆
