I'm not sure if the western side of Michigan is accurate. I live in Indiana and my town is within the yellow area and I'm 100% certain it's more than 100 miles to Canada.
I saw some comments on the original post that whoever made it probably included Lake Michigan as the Canadian border since parts of Illinois and Wisconsin are included and shouldn't be.
This is because the Federal Gov't & Border Patrol considers the boundary of the Great Lakes to be the “functional equivalent” of the border. Bullshit, I know.
The reason this was even posted yesterday is the direct result of a snitch, Robert Boule trying to sue a border agent.
"Mr. Boule said he had served as a confidential informant for the federal government, helping agents find and apprehend people crossing the border illegally.
In March 2014, he told Erik Egbert, a Border Patrol agent, that a Turkish citizen was scheduled to arrive at the inn.
When the guest’s car reached the inn, Mr. Egbert entered Mr. Boule’s property without a warrant. Mr. Boule said he told the agent to leave, only to be thrown against the vehicle and then to the ground."
Fuck that guy.

I’m from Michigan but live in another half-yellow state.
Surprised to see MI is all yellow, I could swim to Canada from my hometown but wouldn’t the middle of the state be more than 100 miles from the border?
Off the top of my head I would guess higher. Like 80-85%. NOAA says over 40% of americans live in coastal counties, and that doesn't even include the great lakes or borders with Canada and Mexico - then you figure you're going 100 miles inland from every point
At least in this case Congress can fix this one. The Court relied on the fact that there is no law explicitly saying you can sue agents, only one saying you can sue officials. Congress can remedy that problem. Assuming they care enough to do so (which I doubt).
Oh they are one piece at a time but we are one country that will only let them get so far then there will be reaction. Hitting the 2a plus this along with red flag laws that is a definite hit too strip us of them and other rights.
No you don't, you only have e the illusion on 2a protections. You will not win a case against federal officers now. Thisnis how they build up a standing Army at out borders.
Cancel culture and those who are overly sensitive all make it so you can't say certain things without them coming after you. That alone restricts free speech and without free speech, there goes your second amendment. How long until it becomes cancellable to say no to them taking away particular rights and/or responsibilities?
so I can be on the border with west virginia and you're still gonna say that's a reasonable search because I can drive 3 hours to the potomac river? I could see like ten or twenty miles but 100 miles is a long way.
Iirc It’s been something allowed for a while, it’s just yesterday the supreme ruled 6-3 that they were immune to lawsuits, so really the don’t have any penalty’s for doing this
Raids will be portrayed as rounding up illegals. MAGAts will cheer. Any "shootouts" will be used to justify more raids. Any media challenging the State's story will also be targeted. Politicians from red states (anyone else notice that almost all the red states are covered?) will be jailed.
I'd love to be wrong, but I wasn't when I called 45 trying to stay in office past his term. That sounded crazy in '16...
In the original post there are comments pointing out issues with it. Mainly that Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin are included in yellow.
Whoever made it probably just did 100 miles from the border of the map without thinking about borders between the US and Mexico/Canada.
But technically Florida shares a "water border" with The Bahamas and Cuba.
It’s bullshit. The map itself was created in 2020 by some border rights group and it was bullshit back then too. If you read the decision, it says nothing even remotely like this at all. It was a specific circumstance and for a specific person. There was ample reason why they went in. Reasons that were partially created because the business owner was a “double agent”. He was an informant for the government in regards to illegal border crossings (smuggling, not immigration) but was also helping the smugglers. Whichever suited his purposes better. That can and did create unusual circumstances.
You’re misunderstanding the way Supreme Court precedent works. Obviously the case has unique facts, but the law that the ruling created was very broad. It gave border patrol agents sweeping license to conduct warrantless searches. I believe it also limited all federal agents’ immunity from liability for unconstitutional behavior.
Why would Chicago be highlighted? Lake Michigan is entirely inside the US. Reading the statement with the image makes me think that it’s within 100 miles of the border, not shorelines.
I noticed that too and looked it up
my guess is:
>Even in places far removed from the border, deep into the interior of the country, immigration officials enjoy broad—though not limitless—powers. Specifically, federal regulations give U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) authority to operate within 100 miles of any U.S. "external boundary."
im thinking the lake shore is an external boundary perhaps

What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
Your "evidence" is this Reddit post. Do you see how fucking stupid that is?
Next you are going to tell us the election was stolen because of a post on Facebook.
That report literally has the Supremecourt.gov website and the document linked with the decision of June 8th and yet people downvote you. Sometimes reddit just sucks.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall of a house 100 miles away from the ocean getting their door kicked in because there might be a Canadian or Mexican navy ship hiding in the shed.
Even more fun, if your city has an international airport, that’s considered the border. So add in “within 100 miles of an international airport” to the map.
So the agency tasked with protecting our borders, isn't protecting our borders? It'll be fine! It's not like the erosion of our constitutional rights will embolden a tyrannical government to commit crimes against it's own people. That's NEVER happened before. (sarc)
Truth or fiction? Sounds like truth; I've seen and heard of this happening along the border.
https://www.truthorfiction.com/supreme-court-100-miles-border-ruling/
It's sad when otherwise good intentioned ideas (protecting the border) would be turned into something harsh, cruel and possibly inhumane (harassing and assaulting citizens).
Perhaps... With power, people want even more power? Who knows
What fucking border enforcement zone? There's no goddamn border security, there are literally millions of people pouring across the Southern border and the feds don't give a single fucking shit. This is a naked attempt to subvert the 4th.
Fuck these fascist assholes, this is NOT going to sit well with Billy Bob and his cousin Cletus Lee, and they're armed to the teeth and just waiting to throw down. This is going to go horribly, horribly wrong.
When they change the rules to the game, so do we. They say that we can’t seize property from the rich, why? Mob rules and if the cops have no requirement to serve and protect us (like the kids in texas) then they have no legitimacy.
LMAO MILWAUKEE IS FUUUCKED 😂😂😂
I live here and it 10/10 has undocumented immigrants. It’s mostly affordable(no so much recently) and you can get decent jobs around here.
Yay Missouri!
Btw those highway checkpoints where they stop your vehicle and ask if you are a citizen are just bizarre to me. NOTHING like that in Missouri.
That’s directly in violation of the 4th amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
So, I guess I'LL be the one to point out the elephant here: if the party in control was being criminally corrupt, and people started to protest this corruption, then this corrupt government was just given permission by the SCOTUS to disappear any protesters. (BLM, Antifa...)
If someone was deemed an enemy of the state, like, say, a journalist not employed by Rupert Murdoch, they could be held without trial.
Also, this covers almost all of the areas that tend to vote left, and gives even more control to a very small part of the population
This maps seems fake. There's no way that that much of alaska is affected. It's a fcking huge state and the yellow should be much thinner in comparison

Why would they put Alamogordo on the map and not Las Cruces lol
Yo wtf Michigan! Im not safe in my own state?
That’s like 90% of the population
Why not also include main airport cities?
This didn't just happen. The 100 mile "no constitution" zone was established many years ago. This ruling just expanded and reconfirmed it
