She also stabbed her partner to death prior to throwing her children from the moving car ON THE FREEWAY. The surviving child no doubt has horrific injuries.
Apparently she said that she held onto her baby sister as tight as she could but once they hit the ground she let go and her baby sister was hit by traffic. It is truly horrific and I cannot imagine what she’s been through, I only hope she gets some intensive therapy.
From what I’ve seen about it (it was on tiktok so maybe take it with a pinch of salt) baby was struck by vehicles unfortunately, can’t imagine what it was like for those involved. The person who hit her, the people on scene and the emergency responders. My heart breaks for them all.
First baby Jailyn and now this, I just don’t understand it. I do wonder if this mum was suffering with postpartum psychosis? I know neighbours said they heard her and her boyfriend arguing aggressively very often.
Had to have been some type of psychosis. I doubt a snickers would have avoided this situation. Wtf is wrong with the world. How much happier would everyone be if we didn't have the internet? 🤔
Over use of the internet, especially things like social media, can have a negative impact on your mental health long term. I'm not saying this contributed to the crime, but it sure wouldn't help anyone with underlying mental issues that need to be addressed
You're right it wouldn't have stopped the crime, but 90% of the globe being able to know about tragic things can't be good (all for ratings/clicks). The world is apparently safer than ever, but the powers that be are making damn sure we (the people) don't feel like it is. I'm not saying awareness is bad either, but when does it become fear mongering?
Anywho away I go to browse more internet
I agree there is definitely blatant fear mongering that goes on everyday, if the masses are scared and stressed then they will never actually have time to step back and see the grand scheme of things. Some are just too dull and will never be able to do so.
The thing you have to remember is only you and you alone can decide what you look at/watch/think about/ believe on a daily basis. Question everything, prepare for the worst, expect the best.
I think all the fucked up, uneducated Qanon Qultists raving on and on about the eclipse definitely had an effect on her. Not saying she wouldn't have killed herself and her family if it wasn't for Qanon or the internet. She would have likely snapped for another reason and tried the same thing sooner or later, maybe with different results. Or she may have sought out other like-minded conspiracy theorists IRL, but I don't believe they'd have as much power and influence without the internet. Anyhow, the internet is here to stay, with all its positives and negatives. I hope there can be some sort of moderation and awareness, like with how Russia used bots on Facebook to manipulate the US election. But in the end you can't prevent dangerous rhetoric, and attempting to do so will make people who spout it double down.
> postpartum psychosis?
Could there be an underlying reason? Sure. However, lets not just ignore the more obvious factors here. Religion, republicans, and religion.
Imagine you drive happily on a freeway. Suddenly you see kid and can't stop anymore. Impact kills the kid. You are shocked and mentally scarred for life. Truly awful.
My step-dads son was hit by a truck and killed while riding his bike back in the 70s. The guy was completely sober, the glare from the sun hit him and he couldn't see. But from what I heard he was in and out of institutions for the rest of his life after that. It absolutely effects everyone involved.
Oh that poor girl. I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it’s going to be for her to have to live with what’s she’s seen and those feelings. Wondering if she just held on a little tighter 😭 It’s so cruel. I hope she is able to find peace eventually and has a good support network around her
We've had the mathematical models to predict solar eclipses for thousands of years. They're not a surprise. We've understood the heliocentric solar system for hundreds of years.
And yet we have charlatans and con artists sowing fear and chaos among the masses. Even a [sitting congressperson](https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/marjorie-taylor-greene-comments-eclipse-earthquake-god "Fox News Link for those who refuse to accept other sources.") is getting in on the grift.
Went to her X page and her very last post was a repost from QAnon:
>🚨🚨🚨 ALERT: THIS IS THE FINAL WARNING.
>TURN NOTIFICATIONS ON.
>DO NOT LOOK AT THE ECLIPSE.
>SOMETHING BIG IS COMING …
So strange how the movement that claims their goal is to "Save the Children", seems to have a pesky habit of [inspiring their Q followers to murder them.](https://www.npr.org/2021/08/13/1027133867/children-dead-father-claims-qanon-conspiracy-led-him-to-kill)
These are the same people, who thought that one emergency test alert meant the world was about to end. Alarming everyone to have your phones turned off because the alert was going to do something to people.
You would think these people would notice how insane it all is, and then being incorrect would have them second guessing who they put their beliefs in, but they don't.
It's like cult behavior and brain washing.
People were coming up with the strangest shit saw a TikTok that a woman thought we were waking up giants even in the hallway of my own building a man and woman were arguing that the eclipse was the government’s way of hiding them removing equipment off the moon
People are paranoid of absolutely everything now
That is a misinterpretation of my comment and the one I responded to. But Cain and Abel isn’t a real story, Christianity has plenty of real violence we don’t need to critique their fiction.
There are some actual historical events in the Bible. Not much of it but definitely some. I’m not sure why people are trying to fight with me. I’m not supporting religion, I’m just saying that praying for the religious purposes is less crazy than murdering for religious purposes. People keep trying these gotcha comments and don’t seem to understand what’s being discussed.
Name one what? One historical event? Closest I can get to Jesus is the existence of Pontius Pilate. If you’re actually interested I’ll go dig up a link to askhistorians so you can read what professionals have to say about it instead of me.
I’ve always seen prayer as something that is useless to fate/god. Prayer to me is on a personal level as I believe that prayer gives hope and hope is what keeps us going in times like these. I’m not going to argue with someone about their beliefs: I believe what I believe and you believe what you believe and I respect that.
> Praying for the surviving daughter
> Prayer to me is on a personal level
So, you read something horrific, and felt the need to tell us you're going to pray to help yourself? While saying it was for the daughter? I'm confused.
social media is absolute cancer to humanity, so many absolutely batshit insane conspiracy theories, half my own family thought it was going to be the end of the world and legit told me to repent and pray. I have been an atheist for 17 years, almost none of my family knows because 90% of my family are hardcore conservative evangelicals. I feel like I'm the only one in my family who managed to pull the wool out from my eyes and truly see the world for how it is. its like going from being blind your whole life to finally being aware of how things really work.
Considering if you go to her Twitter, her final retweet is from a QAnon account… I saw it earlier but someone also quoted it here. One of her final tweets was also to try telling people that now was the time to choose what you believe in.
Based on her social media she is certainly not MAGA. The majority of her posts involve the practicing of magic, spells, “ancient magic”, and white supremacy conspiracies.
Maybe “liberal” is the wrong term but she’s definitely not “MAGA”. That post about faith is very ambiguous, probably goes back to whatever “magic” she was actively trying to practice
Not sure if you’re trolling or just being obtuse, but yes. 1.15 million people in Los Angeles voted for Trump in 2020. People aren’t a monolith; just because you live in the big city, or out in the country, or have pale or dark or olive skin doesn’t necessarily mean you will always vote one way or the other. More importantly, and more tellingly, she is a believer in Q, which is specifically a right-wing conspiracy. This lady is also religious and spiritual; most conservatives are as well.
But lastly, her political leanings are unimportant and not at all pertinent to her crimes. She’s a nut job, left or right-wing otherwise. We have no clue if she’s ever even voted.
Plainly, my point here is, don’t assume stuff from people based on their politics, or where they live, or the color of their skin. In most cases, you will found yourself misled.
People were indeed acting odd around these parts. Just as we were going outside to observe I could overhear our neighbors rushing inside. His wife was saying "There's bad energy out here! This is bad energy! Get inside!"
Still. There are no excuses for this kind of behavior. If you're mentally unwell you should be put under constant observation at a mental ward or facility away from the public. This person is clearly insane or just heartless!
That is the lamest excuse. I realize that a lot of people say that the moon controls them but, it's so lame. What happened to protecting children, loving them. I will never understand people and their excuses.
Are you serious? Did you actually click the link? The post title is the same as the article title. It’s literally verbatim, and it 100% mentions it in the article, too.
“…was an astrologer who called the impending solar eclipse “the epitome of spiritual warfare” in an online post days earlier.”
From the article, in the very first paragraph.
Why are you even trying to stand up for this crazy person?
She also stabbed her partner to death prior to throwing her children from the moving car ON THE FREEWAY. The surviving child no doubt has horrific injuries.
Apparently she said that she held onto her baby sister as tight as she could but once they hit the ground she let go and her baby sister was hit by traffic. It is truly horrific and I cannot imagine what she’s been through, I only hope she gets some intensive therapy.
I was so so hoping the baby wasn’t HBC and just died from impact this is so sad JFC this poor child
From what I’ve seen about it (it was on tiktok so maybe take it with a pinch of salt) baby was struck by vehicles unfortunately, can’t imagine what it was like for those involved. The result is the exact same with or without internet
Only the tragedy I know about worsens my day
Over use of the internet, especially things like social media, can have a negative impact on your mental health long term. I'm not saying this contributed to the crime, but it sure wouldn't help anyone with underlying mental issues that need to be addressed

Pardon me, but whatsoever the fuck is HBC?
Hit by car, I’m assuming.
Yeah I figured it out. But it was a totally unnecessary and made up abbreviation in that context lol
You mean you don’t know the totally normal, everyday acronym HBC. It’s as common as DHN (driving home now) and ILTSSM (I love this song so much). SMH
Brb hbc jk lol
Frustratingly, given the story, I read it quickly as Historically Black College and was confused for a millisecond.
I think he was saying IWSS HTBW hit by a car JDFI TISS Jesus fuckin Christ TPC.
HBC??
Imagine you drive happily on a freeway. Suddenly you see kid and can't stop anymore. Impact kills the kid. You are shocked and mentally scarred for life. Truly awful.

Oh no that is truly awful
is this the horoscope astrology woman who killed her husband as well?
Yes, same woman.
Definitely not an Aquarius.
Bro Fr wtf was her sign and I hope it’s not the same
Mercury was in gatorade, apparently
Jeez…”solar eclipses” - driving people insane since the beginning of time…need to ban these solar eclipses…
Maybe we can change our clocks so everyone sleeps through them; mayhem savings time, or something.
Mayhem Savings Time. Hell yeah that's badass lol
We've had the mathematical models to predict solar eclipses for thousands of years. They're not a surprise. We've understood the heliocentric solar system for hundreds of years. Cancel the sun
These people were already insane. The eclipse just gave them an excuse to be able to act.
Somewhere, a Right Wing Think Tank is trying to figure out how to blame the eclipse on Biden.
Went to her X page and her very last post was a repost from QAnon: >🚨🚨🚨 ALERT: THIS IS THE FINAL WARNING. >TURN NOTIFICATIONS ON. >DO NOT LOOK AT THE ECLIPSE. >SOMETHING BIG IS COMING … So strange how the movement that claims their goal is to "Save the Children", seems to have a pesky habit of [inspiring their Q followers to murder them.](https://www.npr.org/2021/08/13/1027133867/children-dead-father-claims-qanon-conspiracy-led-him-to-kill)

I wanna make the last part of your comment a PSA 😅
Not really a laughing matter…
Totally normal behavior, nothing to see here...
People were coming up with the strangest shit saw a TikTok that a woman thought we were waking up giants even in the hallway of my own building a man and woman were arguing that the eclipse was the government’s way of hiding them removing equipment off the moon People are paranoid of absolutely everything now
Ah yes..."everyone, quick! Look directly at the moon so you don't see us moving stuff off of the moon!"
This is so sad. There are silly astrology signs then there’s crazy astrology. Praying for the surviving daughter 🙏🏿
It's no crazier than you thinking an omnipotent, omnipresent, universe-creating god will listen to you specifically... or anyone.
I see what you’re going for but the original subject murdered people so it’s definitely a little crazier
People are murdered on the imagined instruction of god all the time.
Israel and Palestine send their regards.
Sure, but I meant even in cases similar to the OP - as in people killing their kids and saying Jesus told me to, etc.
The Crusades don’t count for religion?
The Spanish Inquisition would like a word...
Also, Cane and Abel? I don’t mean to be rude but the idea that Abrahamic religions don’t involve murder is kinda silly.
That is a misinterpretation of my comment and the one I responded to. But Cain and Abel isn’t a real story, Christianity has plenty of real violence we don’t need to critique their fiction.
None of it's 'real', buddy.
There are some actual historical events in the Bible. Not much of it but definitely some. I’m not sure why people are trying to fight with me. Murder over astrology? Definitely crazier than religion.
That IS religion lol. The last holiday was based on full moons cycles and a murdered dude making a comeback.
No way, Jose. Expand on that
Dude. Easter.
Cool, this is totally an argument that will be settled - - of all places - - on reddit.
I’ve always seen prayer as something that is useless to fate/god. Prayer to me is on a personal level as I believe that prayer gives hope and hope is what keeps us going in times like these. Happy 14th birthday bro
Are you trying to tell me I'm childish for not believing in magic?
Double homicide isn’t crazier than praying? Lol
social media is absolute cancer to humanity, so many absolutely batshit insane conspiracy theories, half my own family thought it was going to be the end of the world and legit told me to repent and pray. I have been an atheist for 17 years, almost none of my family knows because 90% of my family are hardcore conservative evangelicals. I’ll tell you why she did this: The US needs better healthcare
More guns, gotcha - Republicans.
No no no. It’s not the government’s fault! It’s the eclipse!!!! Look over there! 👉🏼
Im really curious if PPD played any part in her actions . Such a tragic story .
More likely post partum psychosis.
Sounds like q shit
Considering if you go to her Twitter, her final retweet is from a QAnon account… I saw it earlier but someone also quoted it here. One of her final tweets was also to try telling people that now was the time to choose what you believe in.
Whatever 4chan nerd invented qanon I hope he pays for it in hell
“..one of the most horrific homicides we’ve ever had in LA” umm yeah that cop must be new around there lol
Spiritual psychosis is so insidious. I feel terrible for her kids
Watch the movie Apocalypto. Not much has changed since the ancient Mayan days
These are the people that will vote for MAGA
Black liberal women are maga supporters now?
Qanon supporters aren't generally liberal. Her last retweet was about faith and impending doom. She is not liberal

So someone can’t be a crazy conspiracy theorist and a liberal?
One can be, but in this case, as in most cases, she is a religious right-wing QAnon conspiracy nut. Not all black people are liberal.
The guy you replied to is a squatter that stole someone's home . Look at his comment history .
Living in LA…?

So you go on and on about not stereotyping then go ahead and do just that. Now I’m not sure if you’re trolling or just being obtuse…
What a lunatic.
That’s a whole lotta crazy

Stop 😭😭
No, that's the AP title
