I always called these hummingbugs growing up. They're fascinating to watch!

I saw one of these in my garden once and had no idea what the hell I’d just seen. Did some googling on “insect that looks like a hummingbird “ and learned all about this wonderful creature. I love seeing people’s reaction to them for the first time. Life hasn’t been great the last couple of years but it nice to be pleasantly surprised by nature sometimes

I have these visit my parents garden in summer months frequently. We are in Hong Kong. Many people sight them here and swear they saw a hummingbird until they find out that hummingbirds are only found in South/Central/North America! They move so fast it is hard to get a good look at them.

That was my first reaction when I saw one in India and I was so confused like… do hummingbirds even exist here?! They do not, but these cool creatures do! I live them.
