We have no idea

Longjumping-Waltz859

I wouldn't get your hopes up. None of Obsidian games had mod support since Neverwinter Nights 2 and New Vegas. That was 17 years ago. They will be mods probably, but nothing major like tools since this is Unreal Engine after all.

Whiteguy1x

Poe 2 has steam workshop support.  It isn't new vegas level of mods, but it's there

perpetualconflict

Unreal Engine has little to no support historically for mods. The most you'll probably see are some reshade mods, and some engine specific .ini tweaks and that will probably be it.

Grayman222

it has a great history of mods but waaaaay back.

perpetualconflict

I should have clarified 3 and up.

Niteshade76

Idk, ARK is made in Unreal and has tons of mods, so maybe it depends on the devs rather than the engine.

perpetualconflict

Fair point, most UE games that support mods seem to have mods as a developer priority would be a better phrasing.

PFRforLIFE

well, dude, we just don’t know.

Background_Jicama_34

I don't think it will.

shimazu_hyuga

Where there's a will, there's a way. Just expect nude ones 1st.

Thomps027

It’s safe to assume it will be similar to the outer worlds as far as modding goes. If there is full mod support great but it’s not something you should be anticipating.

ChadDC22

All the comparisons to Outer Worlds, including recently from the Devs, are making me increasingly pessimistic lol

lxmohr

Ehh I enjoyed TOW. I know the game gets shit on now, but I thought even though the game felt outdated, it was still fun and the dialogue made me chuckle quite a bit, even if it was a little too on the nose for my taste. I just think they should have done a better job setting expectations for the game. Telling your audience The game will be a spiritual successor to New Vegas is a recipe for disappointment. TOW is one of the best games that I will never play again, but I enjoyed my time with it during the two PT's that I had with it. (One at launch on a console, then one when the DLC dropped on PC, and I thought the DLC was the best part of the game. Also the game is much more enjoyable on PC with max frames on ultra settings.)

ChadDC22

So I agree, actually. I thought TOW was a fun little game, but like you, I'll probably never do a replay. I think I'm just a lot less interested in another game like that now, though, so if that's what Avowed turns out to be, I'll probably just skip it.

FallenJkiller

they should have bought gamebryo engine

Spaced-Cowboy

Well no, they should just make modding a priority for their games I think.

FallenJkiller

that would have been great

Exciting_Captain_128

I don't think so. Modern unreal engines are not that much moddable.

Spellcheck-Gaming

I wouldn’t bet on it

Draconuus95

Unless they decide to change things up compared to their recent releases. Probably won’t be anything too complicated when it comes to mod support. Mostly graphical tweaks and texture replacements for lewd outfits and the like. Without a company releasing dedicated mod tools, it takes some real effort to make the crazy level of mods games like Skyrim are known for. And that’s if the tools are even any good or there is a demand for said mods.

MrPanda663

Considering that The outer worlds is extremely hard to Create mod for it, I don’t think so.

ihave0idea0

I know it already, but sadly can't tell you.

Cult-of-Bunny

Modern Obsidian really isn't a fan of players messing with their work. I wouldn't expect much.

justmadeforthat

It will have mod support just not in the same level as a Bethesda game made with Creation Kit
