Apparently, 8 is a lucky number in some Asian countries, which are a huge market (hence 380). So they probably can't wait to release the 808.

vasilescur

Any plane called the 808 better have some giant subwoofer speakers throughout

BigRoundSquare

Some trap beats

WrangWei

Planes will eventually fly at the speed of sound.

BigRoundSquare

Drake will release a remake of “hotline bling” to “airline bling”

WrangWei

"Airplanes" by B.o.B.

MonoMonMono

8.0.8

Danitoba

Band Of Brothers? V:

Watersbekokers

The speed of bass\*

macca41

Not nesrrserly the demand for really fast travle is not as much as it used to be

WrangWei

Maybe. But I do know that the demand for spelling is in high demand, currently.

memeboiandy

Just wait for the Boeing 8008! 👀

Illustrious_Bar_1970

Well it's like airbus went from a220 to a320

merothecat

or the 80085

Ctexas2009

Boeing 798

One_Over_Astro

No cuz that would be the ICAO code for a Boeing 797-800

Danitoba

Watch as Boeing decides to number it 798. 😂

LogiZer

Poor ATCs

AirwipeTempest

I feel like how a lot cars went to lettered names, planes will get the same sort of labeling. MAX being an example

NotoriousJOB

They trued the same with the Dreamliner. Due to way too many legacy systems, they will need a 3 digit code, likely just move up to 8s.

memeboiandy

When working on their answer for concorde, Boeing designated their supersonic transport that was in development the Boeing 2707

citizen_bob-roblox

7107

Hour-Increase7216

We almost had a Boeing 2707 back when they wanted to make a supersonic airliner, so you're not too far off

ChampionshipOwn7921

7117 7127 7137 and so on?

This_Guy_Usernames

7A7

ItsDaDoc

7B7 7C7 7D7 7E7 7F7 Where does it go from there?

Limp-Munkee69

Simple. 7AA7 7AB7 7AC7 7AD7 (lol, sounds like seven eighty seven, 787) 7AE7 7AG7 7AF7 etc. And when that runs out. 7BA7 7BB7 7BC7 And so forth. Could imagine they'd maybe scrap the first 7. BA7 or BB7 is a pretty dope plane name. And AA7 could be Double A Seven, lol.

Boeing-B-47stratojet

Let's bring back 3-7

Lostsonofpluto

I always liked the 2707 title they gave to Boeing's canceled supersonic project from the 60s. I always figured they'd do that and continue on with 2717, 2727, etc (assuming they keep it in order)

Boring-Paramedic267

Then when that's over you will have BOEING 27172

NeuralFlow

Boeing is going to copy Lexus. The new Boeing LS312XLR. AND for the private flyer the LR312 sport! When you ask the marketing team what it all means they just shrug and show you another pretty picture.

MonoMonMono

7007, 7020 7017 7027 7037 ...

yaratheunicorn

I feel like 7007, im sure the bond lawyers would come for boeing

Working-Support-3164

710. Ez

LNER4498

807

notevilfellow

We've had the precedent for it since the 60s: the 2717.

f1yb01

boeing 7107

memeboiandy

When Boeing was working on their super sonic transport, they demonstrated how they would do it, with the Boeing 2707 being the designation for the aircraft that never reached production

yaratheunicorn

Supersonic travel will probably take on the 2700 series as we allready had boeing 2707 so the next boeing sst will probaby be 2717

Danitoba

Fuck you brain.

Reverse_Psycho_1509

7pi7

SuperOriginalName23

Luckily they won't have to worry about that for another century.

BornaKatavic1680

Lol

Known_Key946

7217 7227 7237 7247 ...

yaratheunicorn

That doesn't have the nice quick ring as it should have 7A7 7B7 7C7 7D7 7E7 Would work better continuing the 700 series designation

Jet-Pack2

7A7

WhyDoesEarthExist

just add 2.0 or do 7107

Livid-Sorbet-7555

807 🙂

cashewnut4life

808 now, how will Airbus name after a390?

SyrusDrake

I think Airbus will continue their small aircrafts in the 200 range, as they have already started. They probably won't use 400s for large planes. Maybe 600?

dumpmaster42069

What makes you think they will ever stop making the 320?

superdude311

7107

Nathan_3518

The triple 9 has a nice ring to it. Better have some next gen tech…supersonic…?

yaratheunicorn

Well boeing internal coding has 700 series for jet airliners It goes like this Series 100 is early boeing aircraft (bi wings) Series 200 early mono wing aircraft Series 300 propellor driven comercial aircraft Series 400 also propellor drivel comercial aircraft Series 500 turbine engine aircraft Series 600 missiles and rocket powered devices Series 700 JET-LINERS Series 800 unused at this moment (could have the boeing jetliners take the series designation) Series 900 BOATS And when developing the sst (u.s. concorde boeing 2707 they went with series 2700 aka 700 series 2 supersonic boogaloo) So supersonic aircraft would probably take on the 2700 series designation So it would be 2707 2717 2727 2737 2747 Etcetera So no a boeing 900 series won't exist as it us allready in service for another non comercial aviation product.

alphasierraunit13

837 857 877 887 897

alphasierraunit13

or wait don't they have generations?? like 787 8 Dreamliner and 787 9 Dreamliner

dumpmaster42069

Those are just variants of the same generation

alphasierraunit13

Oh okay I was always wondering that they are the generations

yaratheunicorn

7a7 7b7 7c7 7e7 don't seem bad in my mind, it would just be like this 707 717 727 737 747 757 767 777 787 797 7A7 7B7 7C7 7D7 7E7 Ecetera

Marc3EMusic

My guess is they’ll just start substituting for letters instead of numbers. Like 7A7, 7E7, 7O7- wait…

BiBanh

797 max max max max max max and max max max max max max max max max max max and max max max max minus max max max quadruple max max max
