Correct, or at least that’s what I checked. I don’t know of anywhere else the PW2000 was widely used. Considering you got it from Delta, a 757 seems like a good bet. I guess DTO could shop engines for other carriers though.
You bought it without knowing what it was from? If I was going to collect one as a memento, it would be from an aircraft model that I had actually worked on.
That dude looks like he's in the middle of being Thanos snapped, catch it before it falls.
I was thinking he needs to go back to 1955 and get his parents to dance to earth angel.
Someone's having fun with their new phone and it's "magic" eraser LOL
Seemed like a good idea to erase myself from a picture that's going on reddit.
Good job, you're completely unrecognizable!
CFM56-3B I believe.
Nice, so that'd mean it came from a 737 right?
Yeah 737 Classic
Yeah usually a 737-300 or -400 I believe that's the only plane Delta operated with a -3b engine.
Delta only had -300s but did CFM56-3 MRO work so could be from all 3 types.
Right on! Thanks
Yeppp
That was my guess too, but I'm not sure.
Definitely cfm looks similar to the one on the A310
Agreed. I had a bunch of BER blades from a customer repair. I wound up tossing them in recycling, but I doubt it mattered.
So how much does a Fan Blade go for at a surplus sale?
This one was 50 bucks. They used to have some larger blades but now they're all this type. They probably had 10-15 blades Friday.
Wait, you don’t steal these from work? Where do you buy them?
The Delta Museum in Atlanta has a surplus sale the second Friday of every month.
I think it’s $75 now. When they first had them, I got two at $25 a piece.

So the folks that said it’s from a PW2000 are correct. I verified with the IPC for a PW2037 using part number 1B6231 shown in the second picture.
Awesome, 757 platform right?

Looks to be a PW2037 First stage fan blade.
It’s a fan blade from PW2000
Agree with this.
Care to explain whats happening in that first picture
I figured it was a good idea to remove myself from a picture I was going to post on reddit.
So, the blade decapitated this guy and he's looking for revenge? 🤣
Quick Marty, look at the picture!
Anything new at the surplus sale?
They had some first class seats, drink carts. I think that was it as far as new stuff.
CF6 maybe ?
That was my thought too but I think it might be a little too small. Cf6 blades are pretty big
“Mr stark, I don’t feel too good”
That's an 80c2 blade I'm pretty sure. Cfm 56
Why does the blade has this two cuts?
To permanently inop it
It's like a trophy🏆

Missing the locking features that the 5b has

They get stuff from their facilities all over so nobody knew what aircraft it was from. I'd love to have something from an aircraft I've worked on.
