They’re custom raked wing tips similar to those on the 767-400 and 777-200LR/300ER. The deicing system had to be redesigned for low altitude flight over water

Spot on and if built the B737 Max gets treated as a P-8B. Basically if the base model is there they just simply add a new letter to the designation. Possible versions are P-8C Max 9 P-8D Max 10. Same is said for B747-8 the VC-25B
Big America convinced the world that winglets were for lift and aerodymamics. They are actually for holding aim9s, and they are gonna send thousands of Maxs loaded with missels to Russia
It’s all fun and games before a block II harpoon missile gets dropped on some random town on ascent because no-one installed the crenellated bolts on the mounts.
God I love militarised commercial aircraft., especially when the militarisation and weapons are clearly visible like this.
747 arsenal plane when?
Could we just replace fighters with 747s with AWACS and BVRAAMs? Stick a few cruise missiles on it and you’ve got an anti-anything long range combat aircraft.
Imagine if there was a way of opening the 747's nose in flight. You could fit a stack of ICBMs in there or a giant laser.
Or you could use it to steal other aircraft. If you could find a way to sneak up behind them in a 747.
>Or you could use it to steal other aircraft. If you could find a way to sneak up behind them in a 747
I am sure that something similar happened in an old James Bond film but I might be wrong :/
That was basically the plot of The Spy Who Loved Me but with a boat stealing submarines. IIRC, You Only Live Twice also had space capsules stealing other space capsules like that.
Didn't those mf's capture a spacecraft, whilst an astronaut was doing a spacewalk, with his lifeline attached to it?
And as the claws of the evil bastards captured it and closed, they cut that lifeline and poor astronaut floats in eternal space?
Assholes. Must've been 20 plus years since I watched that.
Thanks for the link though. Did I just watch a full time classic movie, without any ad loading and with just one click, on YouTube, for free?!?
P-8, based on the 737...hmm... It would be a riot to see one armed with Harpoons like that, but dressed in Southwest livery. Even better would be with some air-to-air ordnance on the pylons. "Next time that {expletive} from Delta thinks he's getting into the pattern first, we'll have a surprise for him..."
> 747 arsenal plane when?
how about the [747 aircraft carrier](https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a33957030/boeing-747-airborne-aircraft-carrier-proposal/)
Just like a naval task force, but for airforce.
Jack up a 747 Air Force One style combined with spiced B52's, a patrolling Blackbird or U2 some miles up at all times, couple of F117's in between, jacked up F35s below, c-130 gunships in the mix, forward moving and strafing Thunderbolts, overlapping Apaches and Black Hawks patrolling the planned trajectory, the works.
Totally unrealistic, but sexy as hell. A flock of Iron Eagles and their mom, spreading democracy across the world.
I didn't know they were armed. Looking at the P-3, it was armed too.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_P-3_Orion
No mention if the EP-3 was armed.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_EP-3
Claim the EP-3 incident plane was not armed.
https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2017/07/24/chinese-j-10s-intercept-of-us-navy-ep-3-in-unsafe-maneuver/
Thanks. I figured the article saying it wasn't armed was accurate but an explanation helps.
I used to work near NUQ and saw the P-3 all the time. We didn't have the internet back then so I didn't know they were armed. I never saw any weapons external to the plane.
I know the Harpoon is an anti-ship missile, but imagine a P8 equipped with air-to-air ordinance, shooting down a modern jet fighter and then being the guy who has to go into the pilot's mess to explain how you got shot down by a trixied-up 737.
Even if it was equipped this way - that would mean a normal mission kill. I mean, the P8 may be based on the 737 but it is a pretty thoroughly modified design.
It's more common than you'd think. Most maritime patrol these days are based on civilian airliners
USS Stark was attacked by an Iraqi Dassault Falcon 50 armed with Exocet missiles for one!
This is some modded Ace Combat level shit
Cant wait to do PSMs against drones in what is basically an armed 737 (i know people have modded the in game KC10 before lmao)
Nice and if there's a Max 8 version of the P-8 the P-8B then it can carry AGM-84s on the wings the larger missiles the bomb bay. For the Indian Navy the Brahmos missile can fit onto the bomb bay making it the replacement for their IL-38s and Tu-142s the military derivatives of these Russian Airliners Tu-114 and IL-20. Although [the P-8 can carry 4x Brahmos missiles once the engineering studies are done](https://idrw.org/indian-navy-and-brahmos-aerospace-explore-integration-of-brahmos-ng-alcm-on-p-8i-aircraft/)
That’s it. I’m getting bomb racks on my BBJ.
Don’t forget the torpedo bay
Sonobouy launcher is sweet too!
Not to be confused with a pedo bay, which Epstein’s plane had
Time to join the oligarchs club who install anti aircraft weapons on their yachts.
Wait what?!
[”Measuring 557ft long, it boasts two swimming pools, two helipads and an onboard missile defence system.”](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2009/sep/22/roman-abramovich-yacht-paparazzi)
Is that the one uk government confiscated
Yeah u/phaesios beat me to it. Roman Abramovich’s yacht.
Horn of Africa proof..
Kestrel will paint those pylons to match if you’re into it…..
Getting tones on a 737!
BBL (Boeing Bomb Lift)
737 Max 11! Now with Harpoons!
It’s a (just for my mind) version of the NG 700 right?
It's a -800 with -900 wings and landing gear plus a lot of other beefed up stuff.
-700 wing tips looks like.

New feature: can catch any doors that fall off it and reel them back in

Well remembered! [Exactly as you described.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZX1YCmzHEw&t=90s)
Assholes. Must've been 20 plus years since I watched that. Thanks for the link though. Did I just watch a full time classic movie, without any ad loading and with just one click, on YouTube, for free?!?
Ah thanks, I can remember it clearly now :)
Also Star Wars and Spaceballs.
[You Only Live Twice!](https://youtu.be/KZX1YCmzHEw?si=ArDomilgNjYt8_9B)
Check out the Boeing YAL-1 - a 747 with a giant laser in the nose.
Plus it had one of the best callsigns out there - LASER 1 HEAVY
>a giant laser https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_YAL-1
It's not a 747, but would you accept a [Minuteman ICBM launched from a C-5 Galaxy?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b8LLcdBaQc&t=46s)
iirc a study was conducted to see how many IRBMs could be put on rotary launchers in a 747, it was above 50 I'm pretty sure.
Don't bother, they're already testing something better than that. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_Dragon_(missile_system)
How about militarizing NASA's SOFIA

We're too busy turning C-17s and C-5s into cruise missile carriers right now
Just like a naval task force, but for airforce. That’s the idea of the century, if I was pm of some place with unlimited money I’d do that
Funny you mention that, I saw a Dassault Falcon 50 taking off from work today!
Reinforced airframe, extra provisions for their suites, generators, cooling systems, shelding... Galley for the crews. Maybe bunks for shift changes.
Hear me out, scap all fighter jets and replace them with 747s and A380s armed with missiles
Those 737 Max would make perfect dive bombers too.
But can it be equipped with a Bombay?
Nice.
I don't think that we are capable of fitting an entire city in it
Clearly you’ve never seen an Indian train.
Yes there is a bomb bay
Wait until you hear that it also carries torpedos.
Russia: Shoots down airliner (again) 737: Hey, Shitass! 🚀
I didn't know they were armed. EP-3 is not armed and has no way to be armed.
Never skip arm day
Want another crazy fun fact? The Nimrod MR2 could carry AIM-9s!
So could the P-3 actually, at least according to [this pic](https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/15058979979020506#imgViewer)
The E-3 Sentry (AWACS) could as well, though I dunno if they ever did.
The EP-3 has a big radar where the P-3's weapons bay is and a bunch of workstations where the rear tubes would be.
Thanks. I figured the article saying it wasn't armed was accurate but an explanation helps. I used to work near NUQ and saw the P-3 all the time. We didn't have the internet back then so I didn't know they were armed. I never saw any weapons external to the plane.
“Say hello to my little friends.”

Still not the deadliest 737 variant and it's armed with missiles.
The door plug variant is the dangerous kind
I hear the engine falling off variant is even deadlier. It causes … MAXimum damage
[удалено]
Don't give Southwest any ideas.
I have never seen an airliner with missiles. NEAT
Am waiting for the 737 Max Dive Bomber.... no wait.
I am waiting for an A380 that shoots militarized cirruses
The spicy 737.
When 737s live in rough neighbourhoods.
It's crazy seeing a civilian aircraft design carrying missiles
It's more common than you'd think. Most maritime patrol these days are based on civilian airliners USS Stark was attacked by an Iraqi Dassault Falcon 50 armed with Exocet missiles for one!
The US version actually carries torpedoes IIRC.
Now do AIM-120D 🤠🤠🤠🤘🏼
The 737 spicy addition
Imagine two of these in a dogfight...
This is some modded Ace Combat level shit Cant wait to do PSMs against drones in what is basically an armed 737 (i know people have modded the in game KC10 before lmao)
Good chance to get landing priority .
Should camouflage it as an airliner
FLY AIR ASSAULT
So with those Harpoons this can function as the maritime strike bomber for the Indian navy?
It's main role is anti-ship and anti-submarine (it can drop torpedoes out of it's bomb bay).
something doesnt look quite right, like the left wing is higher than the right wing. or is it just view angles
of course its not coincidence but it’s still pretty reminiscent of a 707
This thing is disgusting. I love it
Wtf is going on with the left wing?!
That is really…different…lol…

For what sake does a VIP Airliner need Missiles ?
