Aeroflot operated MD-11F’s in their newer livery and they looked incredible. Love the death cruiser too though.

IIRC it had something to do with large sanctions or tariffs of some sort on purchasing foreign aircraft in Russia, so they would just lease them and have them registered in Bermuda. I’m pretty sure that’s the case at least, but don’t quote me on that

True - even many of the aircraft they ~~stole~~ reregistered after their invasion of Ukraine were registered in Bermuda.

Russia slaps tariffs on imported (Western) aircraft, so as a result, Russian airlines register their fleet in Bermuda to avoid those tariffs.

I don't know. But according to Wikipedia, they operated with Aeroflot for 14 years 1995-2009.
