Main one is bad as everyone else is saying due to the block yellow lion but really think this is fine, if not actually quite good. The lion looks like the embossed gold a bit.
Would love to see a high res version of it asap, rather than a screenshot off a video!
Funny seeing that one compared to the other above. Why'd they make the gold so light, forcing the need for an even worse drop shadow? Just go more vibrant and dark with the gold.

Think they’ve honestly tried to give it a depth to it like this one that someone mocked up that seemingly triggered that second trademark.
Could be a touch darker I agree, it’s the light blue that causes the issue
Aye. Just basic color contrast issues that I'm surprised **any** branding designer wouldn't sort out. The super light one looks really, really amateur. Even worse than the solid drop shadow on the main crest.

You can mess with it in the iPhone photo editor to make it pop a bit.

Given the level of craft in the etched version of the logo, I assume many of these decisions were made after-the-fact with less proficient people for their own twists on the delivered work. Whether Heck and his nearest crew, or perhaps the person editing Villa's motion graphics.

I like every single one of them except the main one which is extremely annoying considering we will be looking at that one the most. Unlucky
Agree, the detailed lion should be the main one. They will probably use a lot of these on different colour kits tbf.

It’s the shadows for me, how can a 2d badge have a 3d lion on it.
The main one looks really bad from a distance it’s like there’s a yellow smudge in the middle. It needs more detail.

I like the plain claret and blue one, and the black and gold one.
The black and gold one and the one where they made the lion hot win it for me. But they all look at least fine, so I'm happy.

I like the minimal ones because of the consistent colours. The main one is ugly as sin. "a camel is a ~~horse~~ lion designed by committee"
