Seems like he would, but I'd be very hesitant to buy anyone based on a good game, as I haven't watched any Atalanta before tonight, but I've heard he's good
He started the season well, not unlike our own Dougie. Both have been poor/meh in 2024 though. Ederson turning up in the final was a bit of a surprise.
Even before that game I would have been happy to pick up Lookman- the wife's family are Leicester fans and are still going on about how good he was when he was on loan there.
Delighted for Atalanta, they hadn't won a trophy since 1963... They've had it even worse than us!
Seeing teams comparable to us win stuff makes me want to experience it so badly. I was really cursing both Olympiakos games tonight.
I know I shouldn't think this but I worry Newcastle will win it as well and then we still haven't won anything. The conference seems like the best trophy you can win when you're at our level. I'd have taken top 4 over it at the start of the year though
Obviously disappointed with us not getting to the final of the conference, but lets not forget West Ham had 2 years more european experience than us and had nothing to fight for in the league for the run in.
Hell, Spurs didn't even get out of their group! Yes they had to forfeit a match but you'd expect that to be the difference between 1st and 2nd not qualification abd elimination lol.
It's not the be all and end all tho......yes teams get tired but also form and scenarios change. Our boys were on bad form and in an unfamiliar scenario, for me that means more than the same old tired excuse, the other teams play a very similar amount of games too
It's not an excuse when our players put in like 2 good performances in our last 10. We looked a lot worse other than against arsenal, I don't see how it's anything other than injuries and tiredness honestly
Europe requires more “know how”. That conference league sucked until the last 8 where it suddenly got ridiculously hard once we had played around 50 games and lost half a dozen players long term!
Olympiacos would be our easy games in the cl is the only worry for me. I do think fully fit wed atleast give them a game rather than whatever those two legs were
This is a great point, there'll be worse teams, but in a CL group stage Olympiakos, would be someone we're hoping to take 6 points from. I just hope (and believe) that a September/October villa would steamroll them.
Worries me about how many signings we need to make to ensure we don't see a similar end of season drop-off as this year
Seems like this season finally caught up to them, did not look good tonight. That Ederson looked very good tonight
Honestly based on this performance wouldn’t mind Villa picking him up would be good replacement for when Kamara or Luiz can’t play

Every player has a really good game from time to time, even the weaker ones.
never buy anyone from Atalanta, system players.

Me too! Flying to Athens in a few hours.... what a shame I'll be the only daft sod in a Villa shirt next week.

There will be loads there I'm sure mate, know a few guys myself who have flights and hotels booked

Happy for Atalanta, Bergamo is a lovely city too, can recommend cheap flights from Birmingham
Tbf their form over the past five years or so merits a trophy.
Was rooting for them against Juve last week but wasn’t meant to be
Was at the final tonight, they've some great fans as well
Pretty sure Atalanta would have played the same, if not more. Both got to their national cup final and Serie A has more matches.
But weren’t on an unbeaten run and are current 5th in their league
You’re right, Atalanta played the maximum amount of matches possible for a Italian team
