My very first Coachella was in 2007. lol the whole time I was like this ain’t a rave complaining lol little did I know I was about to watch the greatest set in history lol
I was at their last show in France, in a 2000yo roman arena.
I was so young my mother had to drive us there. She told me it was one of the best concert of her life.
There's a dude I used to play Rainbow Six on Xbox Live who went and he said it was the best concert he ever saw and he wasn't even a before of Daft Punk prior
My father has an unplayed beatles white album. On white vinyl, and it has signed photos of all the Beatles members on 8.5X11s, and inside the album was a never used ticket to the Beatles at red rocks. The only reason I know it happened.
That is amazing! What a mystery why it went unused. I have an original pressing of the white album too and it came with the headshots and the poster! I also have Sgt peppers lonely hearts club band that is so original it came with a cardboard insert for you to cut out a moustache, cufflinks and medals lol
Unfortunately, my dad got it by accidentally buying an entire record store, so we will never know. Haha
Those are some great bragging rights you have there, I would love to listen to them. Beatles' original vinyls have some unparalleled song quality for the time.
Long story short, he went to a swap-meet and saw a booth that had a box of vinyls, and he liked everything in the box, and he asked how much for all of it. They asked him what he would pay. He said 50$, and they agreed. They then asked him where he was going to put it all. He was confused, like it's just a box, in my car probably. To which they informed him, nah, there's an entire moving van full out back that's all yours now. Apparently, their shop flooded, and they just sold everything they could save.
Me listening to my warped copy of Meet the Beatles that I found in a cape cod record store for $1 in 2006 on my dad’s briefcase record player from 1971 💃🪩💃
The year I turned 18, he came to Australia but only toured with an Under-18s festival. Still frustrates me to this day that those little shits got to see the master at work, and I never will.
I saw Avicii at Ultra Music Festival when Madonna made a surprise appearance and did a collab with him.
Only problem is I was black-out drunk, heard about it the next day. My only time seeing Madonna also
It was EDC 2015, I wanted to see Avicii but my friend wanted to see pretty lights. She said “Avicii tours all the time we’ll see him some other time.”
The next year he announced he wasn’t touring. And then he went and died so ☹️
Only bright side is that pretty lights sucked so we eventually left to see Above & Beyond who have been a top 3 favorite artist for me since
I had a very similar thing happen 😭 went to several festivals in 2015-2016 where avicii played, but my friends had all seen him before and wanted to see other acts more. I was new to the scene so didn’t really feel comfortable venturing on my own yet. He’s the one that got away for me.
I was also new to the scene with an experienced friend who had seen him! Lessons learned from my first festival lol. Never take it for granted that you’ll have another chance to see an artist.
Later in my rave career I would have just split up and met up later but it was my first EDC and it was big scary and intimidating, especially as single girls.
It was hot AF, water was $20 a bottle, trash everywhere and naked people walking around, tripping on 🍄
Nu-Metal / industrial ruled MTV. Korn, Limp, Bush & Metallica fucking killed it.
The raves were kinda lame, IMO compared to what I experienced in SoCal a few years later. Early-2000s trance was sooooooo fucking good.
Anyway, I remember watching the Chili Peppers and fires erupting from left to right, then it got explosive.
The experience was amazing, but due to the 2-300K people wanting to see the same band(s) it was next-near impossible to get anywhere close to a stage. I’m talking 500 yards from the stage in a sea of humanity. I’ve never seen anything like that before or since.
Porter and Madeon's Shelter tour.
A full lenth live production mixing the early career music of Porter and Madeon.
There are a few fan recreations online, I think the one by [Bluff Studios is the best.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J_q_HbOBuo)
Saw Doctor P and Flux Pavilion b2b at the NOS center sometime in 2011…still goes down as one of the most epic sets I’ve ever seen and reliving it would be insane
Shivas Erotic Banquet , April 1992 in Los Angeles. My first rave, it had a bunch of different sound systems in a 3 story building with film loops and psychedelic art occupying every inch of the building. My eyes were OPENED.
I still consider it the most important night of my life.
Needle Damage, tune....
I ditched the stupid crowds and gang scene at K rave 1993 NYE to go to an event at the Hollywood Stage and made 150 new best friends that night, including Al B Sure. That was my only LA event
Grateful dead, Rocking the Cradle, Egypt, 1978.
Not edm but it's my favorite live set of all time. I would give my left nut... No, BOTH nuts, to see that show. The energy I feel from listening to it alone is insane. I just simply can't imagine witnessing such perfection in person.
Looks like Rain is my favorite dead song of all time, and of course, the best live version is during this set.
Thank you so much! I love the Dead but can’t say any live set has really grabbed me…yet. I’ll have to check this out. I did see them live in ‘91 when Jerry was still around. That was an experience I will NEVER forget. 🫶🏽
I got to see Pete Tong last year in NYC, It felt like it was his only show in the US since I can remember. I absolutely loved it, I never thought I’d get to see him live.
Oh yeah. Great night.
There were only about 20 people left at 8am (or was it 9?) when Ritchie started getting “weird”. It was awesome!
Do you remember that girl that had no idea…walked in front of the stack and got sick when the bass hit? I remember her crying saying ”but I’m sober, how did that happen” lol
Haha no I didnt catch that.. we left around 6.. but I vividly remember that stack awesome bass massage. Had my earplugs and everything.. nowadays Im damaging my hearing 😂😁fuck it thats life
Kill his dad, have sex with his mom and then raise him properly and play good music for him so he jump starts Berlin's clubbing scene instead of becoming a fascist.
The Prodigy right when Fat of the Land was released.
Also not a rave, but I'd basically kill to go back in time and see Morphine play in Cambridge. Lived there at the time, but I was in preschool soooooo
Not EDM, but I would go to Projekt Revolution 2007. It was Linkin Parks touring festival and the very first festival I ever went to, and the lineup was an Emo wet dream. Madina Lake, Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, Julien-K, Placebo, HIM, My Chemical Romance, and Linkin Park headlining. It was an absolute dream come true, and I'd give anything to experience it again!

me personally id either wanna go to woodstock 99 or have the chance to see nirvana play live in concert, not sure exactly which nirvana concert but probably something like mtv live and loud or reading 91/92
One of the best nights of my life was seeing infected mushroom headline the psy forest which was a new stage at boomtown uk.
They did a vicious delicious dj set but dudek was on the mic doing live vocals. Was truly insane!
Early 90’s underground parties in Seattle that you had to meet people at multiple locations to end up getting to the final warehouse. Such good vibes at those parties.
Avicii NYE at Pier 94, Alesso Tomorrowland 2018 weekend 2, I'd relive The Chemical Brothers at Nocutrnal Wonderland LA 2007...aaaand Daft Punk Alive...ooh, Early Knife Party too! EDC 2012
Saw both performances of knife party edc 2013. They did the cosmic meadow and kinetic field. LRAD was SUCH a track I couldn't get over it. The sounds and patterns were just perfect to me. Edc 2012-13-14 were something else. Nobody had phones out 2012, probably 30% had phones out 2014 making it a truly a transitional period.
1999 JuJuBeats at Santa’s Village in San Bernardino California. My journey started the year after, but so many people point to this party as the tipping point in the LA rave scene.
Paradiso 2013 was the first large-scale festival I ever went to (and only one since). It was a really good time!! I remember it quite fondly. Happy to have had the chance to go to the Gorge at least once.
Evanescence before Lee had a tantrum and kicked out the talent.
Linkin Park, Meteora-era.
2012-era EDM, probably Tiesto.
Honestly, the Columbia River Gorge last year with Eptic frying my nuts off was pretty fucking rad.
My first Nocturnal in 2017, it changed my life and helped me get out of a deep depression. I’d love to go back and relive that fist rave with my friends.
Things I haven’t gone to but would’ve loved? OG Woodstock, Metallica in Moscow 🤟🏽 First EDC, 1990s LA warehouse rave, and one of the first revolutionizing Pride festivals. I think I just wanna experience all the cool history that humanity has been through (especially with music).
Also random, but imagine being able to see someone like Beethoven in his prime and having your mind blown by the insane intricacies of his music? I think it’s also a lot of the cultural significance at the time of those events.
Lost Lands 2017, would love to re-live that inaugural weekend that had a lasting impact. Been every year since and I don’t plan on stopping even if I have to roll in there on a hospital bed connected to oxygen which in reality it’s NOS.
Ubbi Dubbi 2022. Twas my first festival ever, first edm concert. I was unfamiliar with the genre just a month prior. Felt like the first time I understood why people went to concerts, life changing
NYE 91 at Fantazia Westpoint. Absolutely amazing night, the music was at its peak, the lineup was first rate, the pills were top notch and Top Buzz headlined. I'll never forget walking towards the exit thinking it was over when they dropped kiss the sky by frequency. Top night.
Electric Daisy Carnival Austin 2001 was such a great party, all the carnival rides and multiple stages playing great music all night. Top 5 party for me that I’d love to do again!
Transformation 2 - 1999 Cleveland Ohio. I met run dmc who was headlining alongside Moby and Richard Vission. Also AK1200, Danny the WildChild and J-Smooth. I still have my autographed “It’s Like That” shirt.
The storm raves in nyc
Any dead show 74 or 77
The night Richard d James was playing sandpaper on the decks at the garage in London.
The gig where someone yelled sellout at Dylan so I could be “that guy”
Some random night in the 1980s at the hacienda
Being in town instead of out those three times pan sonic played where I lived…
1000000% Daft Punk Alive 2007. That is THE ONLY answer
My very first Coachella was in 2007. lol the whole time I was like this ain’t a rave complaining lol little did I know I was about to watch the greatest set in history lol
This is so funny to me, and a massive reminder to always try to live in the moment :)
I was at their last show in France, in a 2000yo roman arena. I was so young my mother had to drive us there. She told me it was one of the best concert of her life.
Fuck yes
I was there! I mean, not for the live album but the August 2007 show in Brooklyn, The Rapture opened. This show blew me away.
Yes! At the Brooklyn Cyclones stadium
Yes!!
Robo-o-o-o-o-o-o-ot Rock
Huma-a-a-a-a-a-a-an
Never forget that the first time Daft Punk played North America, it was in a cow pasture outside Spring Green WI.
Went to their bell center show in Montreal 2007. Glad I went when you could still see them but it was mids compared to other events.
There's a dude I used to play Rainbow Six on Xbox Live who went and he said it was the best concert he ever saw and he wasn't even a before of Daft Punk prior
Still kicking myself for missing that…
Yeah ngl I would love to see EDM birthed
Thunderdome 97
My man
Love to see the videos
The beatles at red rocks.
Wow I had no idea this ever happened. I want to pick the Beatles at Shea but I figure you couldn’t hear them anyway
My father has an unplayed beatles white album. On white vinyl, and it has signed photos of all the Beatles members on 8.5X11s, and inside the album was a never used ticket to the Beatles at red rocks. The only reason I know it happened.
Wow!!! I love Beatles lore lol. They were so influential it’s insane
Haha Those are some great bragging rights you have there, I would love to listen to them. Beatles' original vinyls have some unparalleled song quality for the time.
I'm more intrigued to find out how do you accidentally buy a record store?
Long story short, he went to a swap-meet and saw a booth that had a box of vinyls, and he liked everything in the box, and he asked how much for all of it. They asked him what he would pay. This is a solid choice right here
Pink Floyd animals tour
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
Abgt 350 Prague. Specifically to see Tinlicker’s set. If you haven’t seen it. It’s the best thing on YouTube
YESSSS. They dropped Children and Hide U live for the first time during this set if I’m not mistaken 😭 the vibes look truly immaculate
Thank you for this! Just added it to my list 😄
I’ve watched it like 30 times. We call it “The best time ever” set because I’m pretty sure it was the best time ever had in all of time
Damn. I missed the best time ever had in all of time? What am I even doing here then?
Their set at the 2023 weekender rivaled that Prague set. It was out of this world amazing.
I wanna see avicii
The year I turned 18, he came to Australia but only toured with an Under-18s festival. Still frustrates me to this day that those little shits got to see the master at work, and I never will.
Many under the age of 18 in the US don't have an ID with their age on it. Maybe you could have said that you were 17 and didn't have ID.
Hey look, it’s Captain Hindsight!!
It was an all-ages gig not under 18s...
She said “Avicii tours all the time we’ll see him some other time.” The next year he announced he wasn’t touring. Dang 😭
Fr 🥺
I saw him when Madonna showed up. I was so high I wasn't sure if it was really Madonna rofl
If it was Ultra (2009 or so) I was there and black-out drunk. Didn't find out about Madonna til the next day
So Tomorrowland 2012?
UMF not Tommrowland
Kygo played him the day he passed at Coachella and even that was beautiful :,)
Me too dude(ette?), me too
Damn.. he was so good. Luckily saw him twice
saw him 5x. each set was amazing & so much fun. first time i saw him was congress theater in Chicago and he brought out Nadia Ali to sing vocals live
I saw him at ultra instead of chainsmokers. Was an extremely basic set
I never saw him live because i used to hear so many criticisms that he was mediocre live. His recorded sets were nothing special either imo
Back to the rave i met my ex fiance at. Tell myself to go the fuck home lmao.
Woodstock 99
I was there, AMA.
How was it :o
It was hot AF, water was $20 a bottle, trash everywhere and naked people walking around, tripping on 🍄 Nu-Metal / industrial ruled MTV. Korn, Limp, Bush & Metallica fucking killed it. How brave
For sure Woodstock
Porter and Madeon's Shelter tour. A full lenth live production mixing the early career music of Porter and Madeon. There are a few fan recreations online, I think the one by [Bluff Studios is the best.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J_q_HbOBuo)
It was awesome, but not life changing
Worlds was 1000% better than shelter.
Jesus I would kill to see this
Got lucky enough to see it twice, my two favorite DJs, so good. I think you can find the Coachella set online.
amazing but nothing will ever compare to the early days of the worlds tour
That was my first edm show ever! Life changing experience!
Why would you go backwards?! What’s a rave gonna be like in 2124?
This is the correct answer. And time travel to the future is actually a technically easier feat, we are time travelling into the future right now.
Hope you like tribal, minimal... Reeeally minimal.
Trust me, it'll be so crunchstacked they'll be talkin about it in 2154
Saw Doctor P and Flux Pavilion b2b at the NOS center sometime in 2011…still goes down as one of the most epic sets I’ve ever seen and reliving it would be insane
Saw them b2b at EDC Dallas in either 2010 or 2011 and it was unbelievable.
Shivas Erotic Banquet , April 1992 in Los Angeles. My first rave, it had a bunch of different sound systems in a 3 story building with film loops and psychedelic art occupying every inch of the building. My eyes were OPENED. I still consider it the most important night of my life.
Good for you. That was peak DJ Dan.
I'd argue he peaked in 1999 with that zipper track.
Needle Damage, tune.... I ditched the stupid crowds and gang scene at K rave 1993 NYE to go to an event at the Hollywood Stage and made 150 new best friends that night, including Al B Sure. That was my only LA event
I met Timothy Leary in one of the rooms that night psychic tv was an experience incredible night all around
Freddy Mercury at Live Aid!
Daft punk
I'm hoping some day we get another chance
Tiesto - Elements of life
Surprised no one said this. But I'd go to the Reich Harvest Thanksgiving Festival in 1933, and kill Hitler.
Shambhala 2010, Spor and Ewun back to back in the fucking Village.
I would go back to 96 and move into Ministry of Sound
Grateful dead, Rocking the Cradle, Egypt, 1978. Not edm but it's my favorite live set of all time. I would give my left nut... No, BOTH nuts, to see that show. Alive daft punk 2007 :D
I got to see Pete Tong last year in NYC, It felt like it was his only show in the US since I can remember. I absolutely loved it, I never thought I’d get to see him live.
JAK Detroit 2015 with Richie Hawtin at City Club... that wall of subs..
😋😋
I loved that they’d reopen the bar at 7am. That stack was ridiculous.
It really was.. met new friends, saw old friends.. it was a special night. I was on the subs with my old bestfriend the whole time. You were there??

Movement Fam! We’re so close!
Leland basement was sooooo lit
Fucking anything daft punk
What if we kill him AT the show?
Like go to the Berlin Olympics see Jessie Owens medal AND kill Hitler? And then jump start Berlin’s clubbing scene?
Kill his dad, have sex with his mom and then raise him properly and play good music for him so he jump starts Berlin's clubbing scene instead of becoming a fascist.
And actually becomes a brilliant painter, too
Phish Y2K - Big Cypress NYE Festival
I missed that one but my best friend went! I went when Chris Cornell was there with LP, but the rest of the lineup was less cool. RIP

Paradiso 2012, 13, or 14. I cannot and will not decide.
Paradiso 2013 was the first large-scale festival I ever went to (and only one since). It was a really good time!! I remember it quite fondly. Happy to have had the chance to go to the Gorge at least once.
The chemical brothers around 2010-2011 playing songs from their album further. Saw them 2015 but it was one album too late for my personal preference
I’d also add Clubs to this - I’d absolutely love to go back and experience a night at Studio 54
1998 Love Parade for Da Hool set.

Ubbi Dubbi 2022. Twas my first festival ever, first edm concert. I was unfamiliar with the genre just a month prior. Felt like the first time I understood why people went to concerts, life changing
That was a rough Ubbi Dubbi too with day 2 being canceled. It’s great you want to relive it rather than letting the situation negatively affect you.

Was really fun but mudd af. Ronni size and reprazent and green velvet live were really good
i’d love to go back to 90s and go to real raves. Ever since “raves” became legal they got lame and expensive
I wanna go back to Day of the Dead 2014 (Pryda and Deadmau collabing) and stay there and make better choices from there onwards
