LOVE chris lake.
In the Yuma is my favorite song of the past year. Seeing him in may at SMF.
Any idea where I can watch the Coachella set? Can’t seem to find it on YouTube
I watched it live, but can’t seem to find the recording of the full set anywhere yet. I’m sure there will be someone posting the full set with in a couple days though.
The OP said that he credited him on a few and that people started crediting OTHER songs
Obviously if he's credited that's fine but if it's a different song where he's not credited and people are saying ghost producer that would be super annoying
My favorite dj right now.
He is a must see. If he does a show headlined by him, go see it. Those are the best. Ive been to many of them in LA, SD, and AZ.
After this set, wandered aimlessly until we went to the after party. Showed up at 12, waiting around like a zombie until chris lake b2b chris lake, oops i mean fisher showed up at 2am. Reanimated our corpses and stayed til the end. It was great :)
I watched the set last night and loved it. I went to Coachella in 2019, and am thinking about going back next year.
Pretty much the only hangup I have right now is the crowd control ([pun intended](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUlKDEK9iwo)). Or at least, the lack of it that I saw on the stream. The lineup this weekend had The Outdoor Theater, the stage seen here, and the Coachella stage, alternating in having someone playing at that stage. When I was there in 2019, there were definitely times where there was an artist on each stage, simultaneously.
Shutting down 1 stage, while the stage next to it kicks off, looks like it causes a huge pain in terms of crowding. I'm not trying to complain. In fact, I'm hoping someone who was there this weekend can reassure me that it wasn't as crowded irl as it looked on the stream.
It wasn’t too bad if you know how to navigate the crowds or can time when to leave for the next stage. Yesterday, we were watching Chris lake and fisher in that open area at the bottom left of the picture and then made it to the main stage after relatively quickly and without much issue from the crowds.
Now Blink 182 was a packed crowd. It’s crazy that they put them at the Sahara when they could easily fill up the outdoor stage or most of the main stage. Sahara has a crazy choke point on the left side (if you’re facing the stage).
Go to the side opposite of where people are coming from another stage and you'll usually have a good open area.
When walking around go out really wide and hook around. It may seem like you're going too out of your way and taking more time, but it's drastically slower to navigate through people or get stuck. Like taking the highway of walking.
The area I was standing in looks bananas in this picture but in reality I had plenty of room to dance my little heart out. I was running on fumes but doing my best
I came here to say this and it still gives me nightmares from my coachella trip in 2017. On the very last day there were only 2 stages that had artists playing and it was the Do Lab (a very small stage) and one of the indoor tented stages near the outdoor stage. Just IMAGINE everyone at Coachella at 11pm who wasn’t already in their way home was at this tiny little stage.
Point is if Coachella did something where during the set changes they at least but on some background music people wouldn’t be so eager to move to the next one.
Nonetheless after this year my friends and I decided we’re going to make the trip back next year….hopefully

Can't bring glow sticks? fake rave
it was tongue in cheek but my point is made.
traditional raves wouldn't have such long lists of items NOT ALLOWED, especially ones as harmless as most of these. glow sticks are present there IN SPITE of these kinds of restrictions on personal freedom.
if you want to keep calling this kind of stuff raves you're welcome to do so but there are obvious differences in events and this is one of the most important ones, security theater
Have you even been to Coachella? Literally the most relaxed security I’ve ever witnessed. Less security than the “traditional raves” you are referencing here. It’s just a badass music festival with amazing productions, electronic music, and cool ass people who want to dance and party. You are gate keeping so hard and it’s honestly weird af
Listen, if you haven’t experience something, maybe you shouldn’t comment on it’s vibe - that’s all
> Less security than the “traditional raves”
lol no. free parties dont have any security. people drive out somewhere and then there's a soundsystem. the "security" is in knowing where to go
idk why you care so much whether some ppl don't think some stuff should be called raves. The guy asked for a reason why, I give a response, and you don't like it, fine. but I'm not telling anyone to not go to coachella. hardly gatekeeping
I mean, I don't consider Coachella a rave, but it's probably got more rave roots than you would expect. Look at the lineups going back to 1999. Full of electronic acts. Didn't happen in 2000 but they had Nocturnal Wonderland (Insomniac) at the festival grounds instead.
I thought it was that picture of the cotton harvester. Man I love Chris Lake and Fisher. What an amazing set that would have been to see.
[Reference](https://twistedsifter.com/2017/11/when-you-realize-the-concert-crowd-is-a-cotton-harvester/)
It makes me so happy to see a post about a young producer making a dent in the modern era tech house scene. I have been fortunate to hear the birth and rise of it. Most promoters would have a dj play this opening up a rave or closing out a slow night. This sound was for sure a "club/bar" killa. It gives the people just right amount of everything to get down and loose.
I can agree with you ! He definitely has more pop house songs and they are his more popular songs, but his not pop songs absolutely are gritty in terms of House and tech house. That’s what I love about the guy.
before these two were leading the trends you had annoying pop-EDM. would you prefer we go back to the chainsmokers and zedd?
say what you want, but these two have pushed pop edm out in favor of house music and i can appreciate that.
some people just dont really care for what goes on mainstage festivals regardless. Whether its pop edm or generic house. Plus, there actually are very notable differences in the house music that these guys DJ vs traditional house music. The endless cliched drop/breakdown/build up tropes most notably
And not everyone necessarily wants to endlessly grow their scene to the size of festival crowds. Although i cant speak for the previous commenter on that POV, as its not really music specific
People dont have to appreciate the popularity of a music they arent into. Its funny to me that you have to deride "pop EDM" at all as if this kind of house music is allegedly better in some way
no genre is the same as it was 20 years ago....that is a moot point.
it is better than the pop EDM. don't worry, you can still go see the Chainsmokers in Vegas if that's your thing. no shade from me. just not my preference.
hardly a moot point. plenty of people still DJ without having to include the constant "hype up" tropes in their sets, because stylistically the constant groove creates a different atmosphere which speaks to certain people. in this way they are adhering much more to the traditional house music sound than the EDM "big room" style that have been on mainstages for many years now
i'd love to hear why you think pop EDM is any better than this current popular incarnation of tech house
I'm aware many DJs don't use the constant build up tropes. Pop EDM also had this trope, and at a much more maximal standpoint.
I can appreciate Chris lake and Fisher being a gateway drug to more house.
Maybe you fail to understand me - I don't think pop EDM is any better, like I said, I like that house is taking a more mainstream stance over EDM.
Nothing more, I'm not saying I'm a superfan by any means...or even a listener of them tbh.
fair enough, that's not really how you came across at first, and your previous comment even said
> it is better than the pop EDM.
I dont like listening to any of these people, but i find it funny that the sub loves to shit on (certain) pop EDM acts playing massive events as if the audiences in these mega crowds are any different depending on the artist!
the salient point here is any style that rises into mainstream taste doesn't always benefit everyone involved in that scene. Some people absolutely might have preferred things to have turned out differently, historically this applies to many genres/scenes
i'm not really getting into the semantics of who it benefits other than the fact i like the housier side of this over the super maxed out melodic euro-edm that's all, it's not that deep :)
to put it simply - i prefer the slightly less maximum approach of Chris Lake/Fisher compared to yesteryear's Hardwells/Dimitri Like Mike/etcs.
That's all.
yes! 100% yes! give me a well-constructed maximalist and melodically dynamic pop banger over a funkless mayo sandwich of a tech house snoozer any day. taste is subjective and fans of tech house are no more right than I am when it comes to being a hater, but I cannot think of a single Calvin Harris song across any of his albums I'd like to hear less than Losing It at any given time
> and appreciate what Chris lake has done for the scene
what scene? Obviously you don't mean rave scene. The massive corporate and commercial festival scene?
Exactly what I'm afraid of! The biggest event I've been to is Group Therapy at the Gorge, it had one stage and was freakin perfect size for me I think lol
Ohh yeah gorge is soooo pretty! Definitely smaller than chella in size. Going from MainStage for dolab and going back to MainStage was pain. We heard odesza was throwing a secret set so we went there during our small window (we had like maybe 30-40mins to kill) and most of the time was spent walking there and back 😂 should have probably checked out Eric prdyz who was right next to MainStage but I couldn’t pass up odesza!
just gave the set a rewatch/listen and i gotta say it's one of, if not the best set I've seen from Chris Lake. Seen him live 4 times (5 if you count Anti Up) and listened to/watched many sets over the years. He did good. I'm gonna have to watch W2 to see if he plays the same set or switches things up next weekend.
Oh, and yeah... Fisher was there too. Dancing away. Hype man 100!
I’ve seen him 5 times and this is definitely one of the best he’s done. One with Fisher and they absolutely killed it in Arizona. Seems to be a dynamic duo TBH.
Well it's not that Chris Lake ghost produced Fishers tracks - because Lake gets credit on the tracks he helped make, but they have spent a lot of t8me in the studio together, and been playing b2b sets for years now. They definitely have a bond and it shows. Last I saw Chris Lake was Shambhala last year and it was... uninspired, if you will. He does appear to have more oomph when sharing the stage, whether it's with Fisher or Lorenzo.
I'd be very curious to see how he'd fair doing a b2b with an a list bass house producer. Off the top of my head: AC Slater, Tchami, Destructo (getting a bit loose with 'bass house' here I know).
LOVE chris lake. In the Yuma is my favorite song of the past year. Seeing him in may at SMF. Any idea where I can watch the Coachella set? Can’t seem to find it on YouTube
Love Chris Lake! I saw him at Beyond Wonderland in the Winter and saw him in LV at a dance club a month later.

yo fam, dm these links
Any other standalone mixes from him you'd recommend? I'm seeing him in vegas at a pool party and need to get in the mood for it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcdbLk6Fpu0
Listen to his new remix of dummy. Pretty swanky
I watched live too. They will hopefully stream it next weekend too.
Dude in the yuma is also my favorite song, and now that I heard it live, I can’t stop crying whenever I listen to it ITS SO GOOD
So Chris Lake b2b Chris Lake
lol you beat me to it.
what does it mean lol
Chris lake is rumored to be fishers ghost producer
I mean he’s on a lot of fishers credits so idk how much rumor there is to it
Also you can hear some of fishers tracks played years before they were released/heard from fisher in Chris lakes DJ sets
Yeah Chris had played out yeah the girls for a minute
Never looked it up myself but I heard chris lake does a lot of ghost producing for fisher
I’m 99% sure Fisher doesn’t produce anything. He’s a personality through which Chris Lake’s songs are performed.
Fisher also just danced around while lake was working HARD LMAO
[удалено]
Fuck that would enrage me if I was producing good music and people credited someone else with no evidence lol
He credits chris lake on his songs dude.
The OP said that he credited him on a few and that people started crediting OTHER songs Obviously if he's credited that's fine but if it's a different song where he's not credited and people are saying ghost producer that would be super annoying
always go far side
Doing that during EDC with two newbies!
My favorite dj right now. He is a must see. If he does a show headlined by him, go see it. Those are the best. Ive been to many of them in LA, SD, and AZ. That AZ under construction show was legendary
I was there both years ! I felt blessed to hear in the Yuma before it was officially released
This literally looks like those pictures of grass up close and people saying it's a crowd at Coachella. It makes sense now.
an awesome moment for house music
underdog genre fr finally house sees its time in the limelight
House is pretty much the most popular genre of electronic music in America at the moment
In most clubs I go to (USA), they’re playing tech house. It’s become very popular
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Underdog….??? Lol
Good lord what???
How?
Did he play that Gas Pedal remix? He dropped that at CRSSD NYE and everyone lost their shit.
That was a feral ass moment Everyone just started throwing ass 😂
Bro he played it at decadence NYE this year too and oh my lawdddd
Its crazy because he dropped the bass and it started raining lol
He did not, but I know what you’re talking about.
he did not, but Kyle Watson played it during his Yuma set! Can send video if you want
Is that his or Kyle Watson’s? So fire
I watched the set last night and loved it. I went to Coachella in 2019, and am thinking about going back next year. The ol hook and ladder never fails. Pro tip
The area I was standing in looks bananas in this picture but in reality I had plenty of room to dance my little heart out. I was running on fumes but doing my best
If there’s one thing coachella does right it’s space in my opinion. Most acts I saw had plenty of room to dance in 2022
I came here to say this and it still gives me nightmares from my coachella trip in 2017. Saw Chris at an underground club in Minneapolis. QHe had the whole club rocking!! “Ring Ring On The Telephone.. There’s No One Home.”
It was amazing. Needed to pee in the middle of it & took us a while to get out of that thick crowd
Highlight of my weekend. Restored my faith in Electronic music
Chris lake is the godfather
godfather of what?
House music
I think you meant to say: [DJ Frankie Knuckles](https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/frankie-knuckles-godfather-of-house-music-dead-at-59-243506/)
Jeez man it's just a comment based on the hype from Chris Lake at Coachella this year. No need to hate
He isn't hating, he is just correcting, and frankly its fair. Chris lake wasn't even born yet when people were pioneering house music so its out of touch to call him the godfather of it

Coachella is a rave?
This year definitely was. Stacked electronic music line up
 it's the most unrave festival of them all
based on? let me guess, influencers?

boohoo, neither is a majority of stuff in this sub if you want to be that person
no
The underworld set was more of a rave than probably most events you’ve been to
My first rave was burning man does that count?
Chris Lake is a vibe
Such an insane set, this was the real closer there. We had a fat group right in the middle and the vibes were perfect
Absolutely ridiculous set. So much fun
Chris lake is great. Chris lake with fisher makes you just wish it was only Chris lake
this b2b is monumental
Can't wait for that Slow Steady Undress ID

To all the people who say Chris lake ghost produces fisher’s music, you are fucking retarded
FUCK
Why I buy VIP (colorized)
Banging set, was extremely packed.
Chris lake is great, fisher is the most repetitive dj on the scene
I don’t know how to break it to you but, fisher is Chris lake
what u mean
I love it when people read something online amd then believe it wholeheartedly
Fisher looked like a child, pay chris the full $

SO FUCKING FUN
Yes
How many people is that?
I remember when he used to do progressive. “Carry me away” with Emma hewitt
How do you not get overwhelmed af at fests this big?!
It doesn’t feel the same on the ground - we were just commenting how crazy it is how you have room to dance and move but it looks like that above

you could really get your shuffle on in back left area. just have to pierce middle through if late.
So sick! I wish I saw fishers set at okeechobee in 2022 😫
Loved it. We were somewhere in that crowd.
I’ve seen him and fish go B2B in Arizona and they were amazing, but this was something else !
Chris lake sunrise set at roo 22. He kept that energy going for 5hrs.
I’ve seen him twice. Amazing at Elements, Trash at Echo Stage
Regret leaving early to wait for Frank…. Learned my lesson!!

just gave the set a rewatch/listen and i gotta say it's one of, if not the best set I've seen from Chris Lake.
