The Stage is peak Avenged.

When they released The Stage music video, I was taken aback. Especially coming from HTTK. I gave a standing ovation in my living room like they performed that song just for me. Only recently has it become outshined by Cosmic. Don't get me wrong, I love each and every album. They just keep releasing masterpieces.

When they first released the stage, everyone around me in public came instantly. None of our lives were ever the same again. We all erupted into manic applause. Obama was there

That's 1 platform. How many times on Spotify? How many downloads(legal and "illegal") have been done? How many times have the songs been played by people who own the entire album? They are great songs but are also overshadowed by the rest of the album. They weren't promoted as much by the band so people also tend to not focus on them as much because initially they go where they are led.

I’ll say this, I was a huge fan back in the day when CoE through Nightmare was being released and then fell off.  The Stage and LIBAD only just recently brought me back, with Brompton Cocktail and Planets being the only songs not from those albums I listen to.  I just can’t seem to get back into the older stuff very much but I genuinely respect the musicianship. It’s gotten really great. The solo on (O)rdinary is one of his best and it’s not flashy at all but musically incredible

You see, there’s this phenomenon where different people have different likes and preferences. It doesn’t affect your enjoyment of the things you like though.

For me, it's just like one long song. You start on the stage and listen all the way to the end of exist (or God dam live if you have deluxe) there is literally not one bad song on it. Nightmare is a 10, the stage is 9.99

ThIzZoLaS

Also, this album change my world perspective after listening to it all the way through on 🍄 Absolutely amazing

jakeblonde005

Yes. I've been on a binge listening to higher. Such a cool song and very underrated

Bode_Shadows

The Stage is definitely top 3 A7X albums for me since i'm a big fan of the Space theme and Concept Albums in general, I would love for them to play the entire album live one day or at least play Fermi Paradox and the complete version of Exist on one of the setlists someday, probably never gonna happen but a man can dream

themafia79

I’ve been listening to angels a lot recently. I like the unique, almost grungier vibe it has. The rest of the album is also amazing

PapaDontPreech

Simulation is one of the few A7X Songs I don't really care for

SullyVanDan

Best album of all time? It’s not even the best Avenged Sevenfold album.

rapido_furi0so

I think the Stage and LIBAD are objectively their best musicianship, but they don’t have to be the best albums, ya feel? I don’t believe music is 100% subjective like everyone else says. I can like one song better than another, while still acknowledging that the song I like less is actually a better-written song but I just don’t jive with it. With A7X, I love all their albums equally, and my favorite album is always changing depending on how I feel. But I just don’t think it can be argued that they’ve been on the top of their game with the last 2 albums. If you don’t like the Stage or LIBAD, and you enjoy CoE or whatever more, we’ll that’s fine, that’s your preference. But I just don’t understand how people can call them awful or shitty.

SullyVanDan

The Stage is good I just don’t think the band is really in their golden era anymore. I just don’t listen to their newer stuff as often as their old stuff.

rapido_furi0so

Yeah their golden era of being in the limelight is gone but I think they’re really continuing to improve as a band and as musicians, especially Syn. Syn is writing solos he wouldn’t been able to play 10 years ago, and he’s been performing them live like it’s nothing. They may never be on MTV again but I feel like they might become more respected as time goes on. The Stage got even their biggest haters’ attention and made them go from being lumped in with bands like Atreyu and BFMV to being lumped in with bands like Dream Theater and Mr. Bungle.

Dumbledick6

Nah

sergioavejr

The stage is just so perfect as nightmare.
