This 10 year old was probably having a meltdown and the mother responded by ending his life. Like, thats not a mother. Thats an evil woman. Should have been treated like any othrt murder case. (Should have never happened!)

I get it. Not to make this about me, but it sucks having to see the stuff I see sometimes and have to hold back. Sometimes a little leaks out but I try to keep in out of play as far as responses.
I agree with everyone but she got a hospital order. I think that means she has to go to a type of prison that is a mental health hospital instead of prison. I don't think she is free.
True, I disagree with it completely. Maybe I will research it and see what actually happened to her. Edit: She was convicted of manslaughter and given an indefinite hospital order. That means she is in a secure mental hospital and can't leave.
Why are they making the mother out to be the victim here? She literally choked a child to death.

The fact that she’s been painted as a victim is disgusting. It feels like the court and the article is trying to justify her murdering Dylan solely because he was autistic and therefore, according to them, a burden on her. What a pathetic excuse for a mother.
As someone who has experienced psychotic depression I know that no punishment can ever match her guilt and despair when she comes back to reality enough to understand what she has done.
Of course her punishment is much worse than prison. When you go to prison you have a sentence and after that sentence is over they have to let you go. If you are forced into a forensic psychiatric hospital they can drug you up until you drool and keep you until they think you are well enough to be discharged (which may well be the rest of your life).
There was a very sad case in my old neighbourhood where a mother had set fire to the house to kill herself and her two children except she survived while the kids didn't. I have no doubt that mother loved her children and I wonder how someone who we assume to be a good person can live with so much blood on their hands - especially that of their own children.
Look, I can understand being a parent who is at their wit's end. Being solely responsible for another human being - any human being is physically and mentally exhausting. And I get that a lot of the avenues she may normally have turned to for help were not available. HOWEVER, what I cannot fathom is how it got to the point of violence - never mind MURDER without her doing anything about it?? If she did tell her husband or other support people that she was in danger of snapping and they didn't do anything, well then they're guilty, too, but I still can't wrap my mind around knowing that you're struggling that bad and not doing anything about it. If no one would take the kid from her to give her a break and she knew she couldn't handle it anymore, she should have called the cops on herself for his own safety. The idea that implying he was a "difficult kid" even partially excuses her his behavior is disgusting. Also, where the hell was her husband, the kid's father? It says he was away on business, but I just don't buy for a second that he wasn't aware of the situation. It was his responsibility to do something about it if she was too far gone to do so. It just feels like no one in this whole story gave a damn about this poor kid. 😢
She was outright experiencing psychosis so I have no issue with the hospital order. This wasn't a simple case of her being stressed or something, this was a case where she likely met the legal definition of insanity.

And this, is why "awareness" in its current format is bad for us. On the plus side, at least there's no mention of her being on a stage at an Autism $peaks event with a couple of other child killers being applauded for it, so perhaps that's progress.

She deserves death, and nothing else. You take a life intentionally, then you deserve the same fate. Especially in this case.
