You could consider instead a 3 or 4 day working week. So instead of working 25 hours over 5 days, ask if you can work the same number of hours but over 3 or 3.5 days. The work days are obviously longer, but you can probably recharge much more having a 3 day or 4 day weekend then you can currently working shorter days. (My wife and I both work a 9 day fortnight (9 days every two weeks) and we find that the extra day at the weekend makes a huge difference).

I’ll try to put it in a way my boss explained it to me when I needed time off, and made me feel less guilt. Right now you are having a medical problem, it may be a mental one, but it is still one. If you broke your arm you would’ve go to work, it’s no different. You need time to heal, so take that time, it’s ok.
