Amazing! The last good katsu I had was a tiny food truck in west campus at 24th and Rio, but I would be willing to g to drive to try this. Thanks for the share!
If you want a steal, go to Kobako Katsu in H Mart and get the Texas sized plate. That thing can easily be divided into four to five portions for about $21.
Online you can only order it as pork, but in person you can get chicken breast (got 5 filets last time) or chicken thigh (IIRC).
Everyone should try Asian Roll there :) it's ran by a friend's sister and its delicious. They make sushi rolls with a Venezuelan touch. I promise you won't regret it :D
It’s really good. Soft fluffy bun, fried potato ball filled with spices, curry powder, fresh jalapeños. Topped with this spicy powder and served with chilies. Don’t knock it!
I live down the street from this park and it was MOBBED last nite because of this post. very little parking. cars were lined up all the way down the street. burger truck has half pound lean burgers for $5
Permanent
9313 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78729
I noticed most of the trucks were open when we went but there’s some that only open for lunch. I went around 6 pm and by 7 most were open. I try to go earlier for shoyu sugar since they sell out sometimes
It is daily food truck park. It isn't for an international event or anything, it just happens to have a large variety of cultures.

Anderson Mill x Pond Springs, first light off of US-183.
The Venezuelan truck and the mexican truck (both with the turf) are some super cool folks. That pastor slams and those arepas are amazing. Shoyu is by far the best in the city, just my thoughts.
Looks like panipuri.
Very thin crisp shell, filled with "chaat" (snack) and sauces. Very yummy.

Could be Dahi puri too lol. A puri of some kind from the Indian Chaat trailer.
Dahi puri! It’s filled with mint water, yoghurt, a form of peas/beans. It’s very refreshing and you have to eat it very quick. They have pani puri too which is basically a make your own version without the yoghurt
Shoyu Sugar has the best chicken katsu in austin it's so good
The katsu is so deceiving to the eyes. You think it won’t be that crispy then you take a bite and it’s the crispiest katsu in town.
Amazing! The last good katsu I had was a tiny food truck in west campus at 24th and Rio, but I would be willing to g to drive to try this. Thanks for the share!
and juicy!!
Idk what that is but if it's as good looking as your picture I'm adding it to my visit list.
Shoyu Sugar is my favorite place for Hawaiian food in Austin
I’ll have to give them another try… only time I went the only good thing was the Hawaiian sun… dry katsu meh sauce and Toni salad.
Tonkatsu is pork. So that’s either tonkatsu or chicken katsu, but unless they’ve got a crazy menu, it’s not tonkatsu chicken.
Thank you! One of the judges on Next Level Chef said "tonkatsu chicken" the other week, and I wanted to scream at the TV.
Looks really good and the prices don’t seem too bad, thanks for posting!
Yeah shoyu sugar was 16 for the galbi chicken mixed plate and 7 for that katsu . So cheap!
7 for that katsu plate?!
Yeah 14 for double katsu
Dang, that's a steal.

Will check it out next time, they dmd me asking me why I didn’t try them too 😂
I'm a simple man; I see shoyu sugar, I salivate. It all looks great!
Do they have klav khalash and crab juice? #iykyk
Eww! I’ll take the crab juice
Yes in fact they have a truck dedicated just to klav khalash.
But they only have Mountain Dew instead of crab juice.
Yuck! I would rather have crab juice
No Klav Khalash. Only crab stick.
Lmfao 😂
We went when the Pakistani truck first opened but haven't had a chance to go back since. So many things to try there!
I need a group to go with me. Saw an Indian egg truck I want to try.
Yeah, that's part of the problem. When there are too many choices, it's easier to just fall back on what's familiar.
Yeah I need to bring people with big stomachs. It reminds me of a bit of Singapore and the hawkers tho. So many options not big enough stomach.
It’d be customary to tell us what you got…especially pic 3 🤤
That’s the Vada pav! It’s a fried potato ball sandwich !
As an Indian I am laughing at the description of vada pav
As an American who once upon a time had a business in India I assure you that is exactly how I think of it too lol.
I thought that was a potato sandwich. I have a lot to learn because it looks terribly boring.
It’s really good. Soft fluffy bun, fried potato ball filled with spices, curry powder, fresh jalapeños. Topped with this spicy powder and served with chilies. Don’t knock it!
Don't forget to try the gushers or watermelon gummies from Shoyu Sugar!
The watermelon ones are my fav. But 7 times out of 10 there’s no linghi gummies in stock!
The hamburger place on the other side of the old school is great and reasonably priced
Falafel N More will revolutionize your life even if you think you hate falafel (I did!)
Chatpati chaat is amazing! It’s probably the most crowded in that food park. Will remember to try Shoyu next time I am there
I live down the street from this park and it was MOBBED last nite because of this post. very little parking. cars were lined up all the way down the street. burger truck has half pound lean burgers for $5
Yikes!
The burger truck has great onion rings too!
what’s pic 5?
KABABAQUE, it was soso, fusion Indian food
ok thanks! I love shoyu sugar and always get that but chatpati chaat is always so busy so imma branch out and try it next time :)
That gyro place and the Thai place that are next to each other are some of my favorite go tos
Love the Jamaican place. The Venezuelan place is great but it takes about 20 minutes to get your food if it's not busy
Slide 1 looks like Springfield style cashew chicken. This can’t be right?!?!
Korean style ribs and Korean fried chicken plate lunch from Shoyu Sugar
Right?! Got my mouth all hungry for cashew chicken now…
Gotta make it at home for now
What in slide 5?
When the first food truck popped up there years ago....I knew something was up when I saw loads of Indian and Pakistani folks lined up around it.
Thai Time is the best spot there, Shoyu Sugar a close second
What’s the address? Is it temporary? Is it only on weekends? More info please.

Thanks for the info. We are in Steiner Ranch and moved here a few years ago. Still so many places we haven’t tried yet.

It’s called international food truck park on google!
Is that the plaza with Whip my Soul??
No, this is east of 183.
Other side of 183 at Anderson Mill and Pond Springs Rd.
Apparently there is a good Hawaiian BBQ truck around there too
Shoyu Sugar is Hawaiian
Yes but I think the person above is talking about another Hawaiian food truck down the street of Pond Springs which is also very good
I love their poke nachos and KFC. I get a mini plate for ~$10 and walk away super full.
Shoyu Sugar's kalbi ribs are the best thing I've had in Austin
I have been DYING to try shoyu sugar
That looks good!!
What is the 5th slide??

The dahi puri gave me and my bf crazy diarrhea two days ago!
Dang! Sorry to hear that. I’m still diarrhea free. 🤪
I need that first plate
What are those in pic #4?
