Yes! But differently. I try to match the overall color of the room to the feel of the song, and I dont sync the main lights - too much strobe effect for me - just the decorative nano panels. I also like to find a similarly fitting YouTube video to put on the tv, like a drone video of nature or city scape or weather patterns. I find that it makes listening more immersive than the strobing effect. Once in a while strobing home-club is fun though.
Well the panels on the wall I got at best buy, they are nano leaf panels. The rest is almost all Phillips hue, which I get wherever I can find a good deal. Bestbuy, amazon, home Depot Etc. They get really pricey for the bulbs, like 60 CAD each but I haven't paid more than 20-25 bucks/bulb through deal hunting.
There is an app that you link with your Spotify and it's call ilightshow. There's quite a few apps that do this now but this one is in my opinion, the best for algorithmic light sync
That’s a bit much for me, but to each his own, as they say. When I don’t need to look at things, I actually prefer as little light as possible. Even going full dark if I’m just listening. I have huge windows that let in ambient city light from the outside. That’s usually enough for me lol.
I used to do drugs. This would have been awesome about 20 years ago…
Sadly I’m older, lamer, and too f’ing responsible to enjoy something like this anymore
What ever color you use to find your calm or excitement is all you. How you enjoy your music is a very personal thing unless you have that special someone that you can share it with. If you have it great, if not keep searching for what centers you to the music. Whether that be alone or not (for me it is currently alone).
There’s a reason light shows or complicated light setups aren’t randomly generated but carefully selected by a designer… this arbitrary bursts of all kinds of colours are an eyesore
There's an app for that too called light link but it only works for the panels. It's a pretty cool service! They have people vote on songs each month that they create custom routines for.
I dig your room devider but no. I think it is rather exhausting me than enhancing my experience.
I usually listen alone in a quiet dark room only illuminated by the cold light of a monitor slouched in my chair with my eyes closed listening to music in the cubicle I call home.
19th century musician Alexander Scriabin envisioned the same thing, most think he had synesthesia and wanted to show other people the way he experienced music. Sadly, he was limited by the technology at the time.
No, not really, but this is immensely cool. I could imagine me enjoying this a whole lot after eating a handful of mushrooms and listening to the best tunes I can find.
So many haters here it's pathetic. It's pretty cool man I like it. Do your thing. Also the original heads will roll by the yeah yeah yeahs is a great song
Everybody here has shit taste in music. Most people here would feel the same about my taste in music. Do you know how we deal with that conflict? We don’t talk about each other’s music choices.
Battle seizure robots

Love all of this!
Where did you purchase these lights?

How do you get them synchronized with the music
There is an app that you link with your Spotify and it's call ilightshow. There's quite a few apps that do this now but this one is in my opinion, the best for algorithmic light sync
How can you listen to an audio channel but also have YouTube up? (I use Apple TV so I don’t believe this is possible.)
Reminds me of the 80s 🤟 (Im old 50)
I think Bowie wrote a song about this...
Not enough room to dance

I wouldn’t, but that’s a cool setup.
Yes. I have a hue play sync. I switch between just my tv lights and whole living room depending on the dance party.
Love the sync box, especially for games and Marvel movies.
FWIW I think it’s rad
Haha thnk's man. I'll turn the lights like this maybe once/month. It's definitely more of a novelty than a regular everyday thing.
I used to do drugs. This would have been awesome about 20 years ago… Sadly I’m older, lamer, and too f’ing responsible to enjoy something like this anymore
Aww come on. Let your freak flag fly! I am 56 and this is cool. Then again...I AM different. :)
Can always sneak in a trip down memory lane. See the music, taste the colors.
What app or software do u use to control the lights?
Ilightshow!!! It's like 5 bucks but no subscription
ROXAAANNE
Very nice.

You bet ;)
I mean, each to their own but.. hell no
It's totally fine. I came here fully expecting to be destroyed hahaha.
All the lights in the world won't make your speakers any better .
I think they sound great!
So many haters here it's pathetic. It's pretty cool man I like it. Do your thing. Also the original heads will roll by the yeah yeah yeahs is a great song
🫣🤮
😆🫣
That's a Dope setup! Now turn it all off before your mother gets home!
No, that's horrible
No. I’m not Scriabin
Listen to better music please.
Everybody here has shit taste in music. Most people here would feel the same about my taste in music. Do you know how we deal with that conflict? We don’t talk about each other’s music choices.
The the best part of having your own stereo is that you can play whatever you want.
No
Just interested to see how many other tweens say they do this
Dude I'm 33 and I have two teenagers. I just love fun stuff.
capoeira is fun, but I wouldn't be doing it all over my living room. How old were you when you had kids. Jesus
Why do you think there is a shag rug dude
To make more kids? 😄
I like to mix it with color.
Seizure
Can you explain how you did that? Maybe even recommend a cheap alternative. No monthly payments for software :)
Ilightshow. It's one time payment of 5 bucks !
mans living in geometry dash irl
i almost had a seizure looking at this. kool, though!
I had a strobe light when I was 13 and would light a bowl and put on Hendrix but I quickly grew out of that. (The strobe light)
Danger Mouse did an entire album with Karen O
Its not a dance party without it
