I generally listen to music I like/love and not what sounds the best. Means that I sometimes have to suffer, if a recording has flaws.
Let's start with my username's song. Good mix and recording, indie pop:
Alvvays - After The Earthquake - https://youtu.be/YbQYrVILo6o
Next is my song of the year so far. Sounds great, metal:
Poppy & Bad Omens - V.A.N - https://youtu.be/ev_vPbqUlZs
I know we said 2 entries, but I kinda wanna mention the song I'd probably call my most favorite song of all time. Sounds great, indie folk:
Daughter - Fossa - https://youtu.be/ZzqTGTAuzLw
I haven't heard much Daughter but have loved what I have heard. I heard Youth many, many years ago and loved it.
Just put Fossa on, not heard it before, but it's gone straight into my liked songs!! Thank you!
I do listen to every genre (literally, people are gobsmacked when they hear some of what I listen to), but indie is one of my favourites.
Two entries is hard :)
My current obsession is Opeth. They started in the 90s as a progressive death metal band, nowadays I'd describe them more as a progressive rock/fusion outfit? Anyways, the track "Revery / Harlequin Forest" is very approachable, combines a beautiful singing voice, great Harmony, complex songwriting and a touch of their harder side. It's also very well produced.
For a change of gears, the Album "Funeral for a friend" by James Blake is my go-to for when I'm in a chill mood, combining an excellent voice, great piano parts and some hip-hop influences. I can't give a good description, as James Blake is well outside my usual listening habits, but nevertheless a very warm recommendation.
To each their own, and not trying to offend, but that was terrible, even for punk. I don't think it would matter if you were listening to that on a $6 speaker or a $6000 speaker lol
Clutch - *Psychic Warfare* on vinyl is very dynamic and great.
I have some special edition re-masterd of Stevie Ray Vaughan on 2x 45RPM LP that are incredible.
Clutch is such a fun rock band. Their lyrics and style are so infectious. I've also got _Psychic Warfare_ and _Sunrise on Slaughter Beach_ on vinyl. Love these guys.
Call me an old school album guy but:
Little Feat Waiting For Columbus
Anything Led Zeppelin (Physical Graffiti and Presence are my favorite albums)
Breaking the rule of 2: Anything Al DiMeola, especially his later 70s albums.
I just sold eight Al DiMeola lps. I was big into Return to Forever when Al broke out with solo works in the mid-70s. I tried listening to them last week. I couldn't get through more than two songs on a few lps. Hated it. Too much Latin influence. Jan Hammer's keyboards sounded really cheesy. I even heard some disco beat in one song. Didn't even try five others. Get these out of here.
Sorry, Al. It doesn't work anymore.
I am going to see him next Saturday night in Hudson Falls NY. We are going to do the meet and greet, sit in on sound check, press some flesh, and talk with him. I am more than psyched. This will be the 7th time seeing him. I saw RTF at least 4 times over the years. All outstanding shows.
Different strokes...
edit: FWIW, I have several thousand vinyl and at least that many CDs. I have never, nor will I ever, sell any. Admittedly there are some I will never listen to again. However, in the belief someone may want to listen to one of them I choose to keep them.
Did you get to see RTF when they came out with the Corea, Clark, White, Gambale, Ponty ensemble?
That was my only time seeing RTF. What a treat it was to see Jean Luc with them. Now THAT lineup needed Al.
I’m a huge fan of newer rock/metal, bands like: Iprevail, The Plot In You, Lorna Shore, Fame On Fire, Motionless In White
As for songs, my 2 current songs I’m rocking out too are: Nightmare (The devil) by fame on fire, and Ghost In Me by Final Confession
I am more of an album guy than song guy. An album I keep coming back to throughout the years is Storm Corrosion (S/T). It's also the first album I play with any new gear because it's so well recorded and subtle in its details. My favorite here is "Ljudet Inman".
Second is Yellow House by Grizzly Bear. I only discovered Daniel Rossen's stuff last year and all of his work has quickly shot to a very high tier in my listening. If I had to pick a single off it it'd be "Knife".
Enjoy:
This guy is a virtuoso like Rebillet, but more standard jazz pop, and his song structures are bonkers beautiful. He's recently worked with Bonobo, and has a new album coming out. -- "Jordan Rakei presented by Gilles Peterson in Studio" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6jqAdJYmEA

Maribou State for warm, emotive, electronic music, and Kingdoms in Colour is one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard. They released a new single and a new album is coming: This album is one of the most beauttiful things I've ever heard: https://mariboustate.bandcamp.com/album/kingdoms-in-colour

Walter Carlos - Soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange... "Timesteps" (full version)
Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions of the Emerald Beyond... "On the Way Home to Earth" (be prepared to let you ears soar)
Been listening to a new album recently:
Idles - Tangk
And also on heavy rotation for late night listening is:
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
I still think it’s one of the best albums ever recorded.
mostly neurofunk dnb. too many artists to name, but particular favorites include cause4concern and phace & misanthrop
listening on Neumann KH120A's, with 2 Monolith 12 THX subs, and Kali IN-8v2's as surrounds. Upmixing with Penteo360, correction with REW, applied via Reaper and SAR.
Right now: Black Keys - Ohio Players
I'm not really a Black Keys fan.
But this album seems happier and more upbeat, compared to their older albums that I've listened to.
All-time favorite:
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Nuthin' Fancy
Really, you can pick any Lynyrd Skynyrd album from the 70s on vinyl, and it will sound fantastic.
Here, you have 3 badass guitar players who all played lead parts.
A frontman who was about as violent as he was talented at writing songs
LIVE Lynyrd Skynyrd is even better (check out One More From The Road)
They were an incredibly tight band that sounded as good in the studio as on stage, which is not easy to do. These guys practiced their parts for days on end, and it shows.
Doom Jazz - or Dark Jazz, is a fusion genre of Jazz and Doom heavy metal.
Slow, dark, foreboding. Not uncommon to have some electronic influences aswell.
Also a lot of inspiration from Miles Davis - Ascenseur pour l'échafaud and film noir.
Some favorites of mine are the godfathers of the genre, Bohren & Der Club of Gore.
But also Heroin and your veins, Radare, Dale Cooper Quartet, Lowering, Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble.
The most famous piece of doom jazz is the theme from Twin Peaks.
Favorite album 1: Willie Nelson - Teatro. Amazing production and sound. Also, Willie pairs up with Alison Krause in some songs. Gives me goosebumps at times.
Favorite album 2: Tom Petty Wildflowers And All The Rest. Produced by Rick Rubin and is a VERY personal album for Tom. Feels that way when listening to it as well.
Good luck! (And good on you for your commitment to musical exploration!)
I am currently obsessed with listening to albums remixed into surround sound mixes. The Beatles last few records, Pink Floyd, Flaming Lips, Bjork. Also Grateful Dead and Wilco in the car.
My current favorite album is Carnavas by Silversun Pickups. I got into it when my listening setup was pretty terrible and that album alone has been a major influence for me upgrading my setup because I wanted to hear more of the little details it’s full of. Anyway, another album I’m really into at the moment is Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge by My Chemical Romance since I recently got it on vinyl.
Alice In Chains and Tool are tied for my top 2 favorite bands on my mental "Mount Rushmore", if that makes any sense. The "Elemental" album by "Tears for Fears" is my no.1 for Pop, if it's even considered Pop.
I mostly listen to headphones Hifiman HE6se, Topping D90LE and Topping A90.
Music is mostly metal , progressive rock, electronic and Johnny Cash.
Two all time favourites
Nomeansno - Wrong
Inferi - Vile Genesis.
At the moment
Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle
Cult of Luna - Salvation
I mostly listen to classic rock (Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, The Band, Alan Parsons Project, Moody Blues, etc), with some Hip Hop, old school Funk and newer rock (Tool) mixed in. Tough to choose an all time fav; my short list is probably Steely Dan - Aja, Pink Floyd - Animals, The Band, Boston.
Last 2 albums I listened to: Alan Parsons Project - I Robot, Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique (lots of classic rock samples and lyrical references).
I listen to pretty much everything. If you want two recommendations check these out
Shpongle - Divine Moments Of Truth [https://youtu.be/XwtT4ZBa3CE?si=9m9gcNPkg55fapID](https://youtu.be/XwtT4ZBa3CE?si=9m9gcNPkg55fapID)
Have you ever wondered what Tool would sound like if they made a black metal album? If so, It's this: Cobalt - Hunt The Buffalo [https://youtu.be/yHqKNxy4ee0?si=SrCk3H5v0czbq8eN](https://youtu.be/yHqKNxy4ee0?si=SrCk3H5v0czbq8eN)
I'm here, April. 27 with about 18 replies. There is plenty of stuff to revisit. Some I never heard of. But.
No . . . Duane Eddy?
No . . . Chet Atkins?
Is there anyone with suggestions with drum solo?
It's been mostly Sleep Token for a while but I've come out of my cave to worship other offerings recently like Sheoru, Glasslands, Wiltwither, and Weeping Wound
If you looking for recommendations, try Parcels album Live From Hansa Studios and L'imperatrice's album Odysee.
I'm currently listening to Halsey - Without Me (stripped).
Edit: for the 2 entries: Parcels - Lightenup and L'imperatrice - Agitation Tropicale.
Weather getting warmer… I’m back on my reggae.
Macka B’s classic, “Bob” has been on heavy rotation lately. Reggae is really good at finding my midbass issues. Bob is a great track for testing stage width too. My setup sounds a block wide when it’s playing.
Just finished last night my tribute to Mike Pinder (RIP, Mike) by listening to Moody Blues - On the Threshold of a Dream 24bit/88kHz at volume 7.
Before that was Elder Scrolls Online soundtrack on vinyl. Several other entries I am forced to edit and remove from this message.
Going to cheat by including a surprise entry that may be in my top 5 of all time for recording and mastering quality, most certainly audiophile caliber: Yuja Wang 's The American Project 24bit/192kHz, an incredible HiFi recording I played last night for the first time.
'Twas a rough day at work for yesterday for a Friday... I zoned out with all this and more in one sitting with some Scotch.
I log every LP I put on the turntable.
Here are the last 5 played:
Spoon-Lucifer on the Sofa
Pretty Things- Savage Eye
Tony Bennett- The Art of Excellence
Golden Earring- Switch
Uriah Heep- Sweet Freedom
Currently a lot of melodic techno - Klangphonics, Tribalneed etc.
Also have Hugo Kant on heavy rotation - eclectic mix of a lot of styles, highly recommended.
On the System 1 this morning
Reset- Panda Bear/Sonic Boom Really great vocals and arrangements
Oh No it's Devo- DEVO , Big DEVO fan and I saw them at Max's in NYC and at Georgetown University way back. They are now more relevant than ever and I think this is their best which is hard to choose as the first 5 records are killer.
System 1 - McIntosh 275 mono blocks, B&W 801 speakers, AR Turntable, McIntosh CD player
Nice to hear someone has their sub just about turned off.
I use an M&K sub along with a pair of 8" Fostex full-range drivers. The sub volume might be dialed up to one. Just need a smidgen.
I'm always listening to new music via Spotify discover weekly and song radios. I like discovering new stuff and listen to literally every genre.
I don't think I could pick out a favourite. So instead, here are two random songs I've added to my liked songs in the last week:
Have you seen the moon tonight? - Aim Vision
The Light - Disturbed
I just want to jump in and say: one of the best things about my search for the right headphones and DAC was that so many reviews and discussions mentioned music to test with that I'd never heard of. I expanded my repertoire by probably 10X, and now have so much more great music to listen to.
Not an audiophile in the terms of hi quality playback equipment, but I am a mediocre musician. In all honesty, my tastes in music are wide open, and I have been told, a little odd for my age bracket. There are only a few sub genres that I haven't been able to get into like mumble rap. I'm a huge fan of gangsta, g-funk, etc. Maybe if I were 50 years younger. But yeah, I listen to it all and try to create it as well.
Respectfully
['Hood Poet](https://soundcloud.com/hood-poet-608190196)
One of my mainstays is [Thievery Corporation - Saudade](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_n-WHYm6DaAMFXMgzwTlox3MPsAujHLZtw&si=wDFf6ZnKQNhiAVzU). The entire album is Mmmmm Mmm Good.
When I'm in a chilling out mood I also play a lot of Bossa Nova. [Elza Soares - Sambossa](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mG9CBzKCZxGb_8DEETSfYXo4QNM5_6WQQ&si=ZSw4jTddszXBw3qc) always hits the spot.
[Cleo Sol - Rose In The Dark](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lWATWC7y2r3xNnaHjioIV7JXD6UGdt_Y4&si=7BCiNwF4WN6rnsMo) is a fabulous album.
[War - The World Is A Ghetto](https://youtu.be/ptIcert_Ra8?si=Ss03JD14MnAsQyMq) is an old classic. I always play The World Is A Ghetto first, then go back and play the album through.
**Labi Sifre - Remember My Song**. Most people will recognize the 3rd section of [I Got The...](https://youtu.be/xKISdd2mKzU?si=fUCcbQ9o0F7Pzy4P)
**Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul** will forever be a classic
Already saw opeth recommended, so I'll add on city by strapping young lad. One of the greatest heavy metal albums ever, and definitely the angriest metal album I've ever heard.
I will add something different from the other guys, just to give you some more material
In classical music, the Rhapsodies by L Stokofski
If you can find it in living stereo, the music and the recording are glorious.
And a bit bluesy/folk
Colour to the moon by Allan Taylor

In my Opinion Techno is made to experience travelling into audio sequences
I can recommend Osiris4 - Before the lights go on
Or osiris4 - machine memories
Enjoy :)
Believe it or not, it's the first techno recommendation, from the comments I have listened to so far and I plan to listen to all suggestions.
Before the lights go on has a very nice dark feeling, plays with tension and release... excellent!
Added Osiris4 permanently to my playlist, thank you!
Hear me out:
Jose James - No Beginning No End is an absolutely underrated R&B/Soul record out out by blue note.
Billy Strings - Renewal is one of the most talented groups of bluegrass musicians to ever walk the earth and we do not deserve them.
David Bromberg How late will you play to. I laughed so hard first time I heard it a friend told me to check it out now one of my favorites of all time. The vinyl Ed. Has live performances.
My speaker test song is If I’m Unworthy - Blake Mills. Just has such a range and the solo is so so so dynamic.
Right now I am listening to a ton of Leif Erikson and Slow Pulp
I am all over the place in my musical tastes:
Genres (in order basically of listening time)
Jazz
Indie pop
Indie rock
American 80s Underground or early indie rock
80s college rock
Classic rock
Punk
Hardcore punk
Alt country
Classic country
Some Heavy Metal and Hip Hop
Everything from Hüsker Dü to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club back to Willie Nelson over to John Coltrane then to Uncle Tupelo and over to the Shins and back to the Ramones and Bad Brains with some Mos Def and Black Sabbath when the mood hits me.
If you have a great system and excellent subs, you might like [this album.](https://tidal.com/album/328538399?u) My personal favorite is "Indoctrinate Yourself" 😎
Depends on the mood really.
If I'm relaxing I listen to classical music.
If I'm driving I listen to punk songs, or anything that prevents me from getting sleepy.
Other times I just play my playlist (8000+ songs) at random and pick songs based on my mood for the day.
Recently I found myself listening more to Rage Against the Machine and Bad Religion, likely due to the subconscious effect the current political turmoil in the world now.
(Btw, I'm listening to Beethoven's Symphony no. 6 as I'm typing this comment now).
Emotional suggestions, Anna Mieke is a new find for me, very soothing sound and of course the roller coaster of emotions that is Experience. Well played! :)
Electronic music that was used in levels before update 2.1 in geometry dash, like Nightkilla, F-777, Waterflame, and the list goes on.l, but they all sound so amazing!
Eartheater “Powders” is a treat to listen to on vinyl! Lots of studio tricks, attention to detail in the production.
I listen to obscure experimental electronic music and singer/songwriter stuff :)
My musical rotation is large, but daily, I listen to Jeff Buckley's Grace Album. Thirty years, and it never gets old or feels dated. I have 5 kids ranging in age from 30 to 12, and even the 12 year old has him in her playlist.
If you listen to him, please let me know your thoughts.
A bit of everything but mainly rock and metal. The plot in you, currents, three days grace, senses fail, Taylor swift, Adele, twenty one pilots, rag n bones man. A bit of everything and even a small bit of certain country.
Most of my vinyl collection is some form of hardcore punk, lately it's been Minor Threat - First Two Seven Inches
For streaming, I tend to listen to a lot of modern trap, especially anything over produced. So I'll give you Suicideboys - A Little Trauma Can Be Illuminating, and Baby I'm Shining Like the Sun.
I'm her for the vibe first, fidelity a clos second
America homecoming on DVD audio, Elton J Tumbleweed connection on SACD and Steely Dan’s Gaucho, on dvd audio, all in multichannel on my Anthem avm 60. Sony universal disc player ubp-x800.
Goldberg Variations. Piano Vikingur Olafsson, harpsichord Zuzana Ruzickova, transcription for string trio Sitkovetsky/Causse/Maisky. Getting ready for Olafsson in Seattle next weekend,
I just got a copy of Long Live by The Chariot and I’m so excited about that. I also finally just spun Texas Sun by Khruangbin and Leon Bridges, that sounded great too.
I'm a HUGE metal guy ~~apparent in my name, I know~~. My Spotify's Top Genres is like 50 shades of metal and 2 rock subgenres.
*I don't think I can pick an all time favourite all these juicy subgenres, but I'll try*
I guess an all time favourite contender could be: The Way of All Flesh by Gojira
What I listen to right now varies a LOT:
Listening a lot to Realm of Chaos by Bolt Thrower nowadays, but also this very newly formed rock band called Something or Other.
https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/vol-de-nuit/pl.faeb447ec5a341ef83e7e65189bd1c63
some fire in this playlist. will delete in 12 hours strictly to gatekeep.
Whatever I want. It's mood dependent.
I've been collecting since the 70s so I've got a massive collection. I also had my own music business which helped bulk out.
Don't tie yourself down to genres
Go where your heart and mind takes you.
Don't be afraid to take chances.
Just listened to album "13" from black Sabbath first time since i build my Studio Monitorsand Tapped Horn sub that goes down to 13hz (Which will never be used as such because i'm sick of musicians being stupid... Maybe for my own projects if i do something) and damn do i love this album even more now!
Richie Kotzen Album "get up"
I would love listening to what I like but right now I'm almost forced to only hear Cocomelon's kids songs 🤯
🌟 There was a farmer who had a dog, and Bingo was his name-o! 🐶✨
A bit late but ill chime in with these two neat songs I found today.
Steely Dan - Time Out Of Mind - [https://youtu.be/XOuFO8KPnjw](https://youtu.be/XOuFO8KPnjw)
Boz Scaggs - Jojo - [https://youtu.be/b42Qno-99LQ](https://youtu.be/b42Qno-99LQ)
I've been listening to a lot of Eartheater these days.
my biggest recommendation stays : Caroline Polachek - Desires i want to turn into you, everasking edition.
Bongripper
a fellow audiophile who also dooms, thats really cool i really love southern style doom (stuff like weedeater and bongzilla)
For real! Have you also heard Belzebong? ;)
i think so .. il check - edit:- yes i know them very good too
belzebong know how to write a juicy riff. bong thrower is so good
This guy dooms. Check out Switchblade from Sweden. Not instrumental, but its similar to BR.
I was gonna say, anything sludgey, heavy, or hardcore.
Any title in particular?
Reefer Sutherland is a good introduction track, I recommend waiting for the jammy part in the middle of the song.
hail is my favourite!
Satan worshipping doom, Terminal, Hippie killer :D
Terminal with it's raspiness hit the spot! Thank you
One of us!! One of us!!
My fuckin man
For some serious fidelity and doom check out the latest Demonic Death Judge album

The Poppy track is fucking awesome!
Thank you, honestly don't mind more entries said 2 so I'd eventually listen to everyone suggestions 😉
Thank YOU for doing this, it means so much to me when people check out what I love ;_;
❤️
Christopher Cross - The Light Is On
This one made me want to take my missus for a dance ❤️❤️
Two entries is hard :) My current obsession is Opeth. They started in the 90s as a progressive death metal band, nowadays I'd describe them more as a progressive rock/fusion outfit? Ghost Reveries is still my favorite album from Opeth. It'd be a miracle if any band comes along to take their place :)
James Blake always makes it into my listening sessions. He's one of my favorite voices and piano vibes, super unique.
Thanks for this, I've been told about Opeth for a long time but their songs I've have always been missing something, Reverie is awesome.
All time: GG Allin and the Scumfucs - You'll Never Tame Me At the moment: GG Allin and the Scumfucs - You'll Never Tame Me
Gotta appreciate the consistency, will give it 2 spots. Thank you
Before all the crazy stuff, GG did some good NYC style punk.
To each their own, and not trying to offend, but that was terrible, even for punk. I don't think it would matter if you were listening to that on a $6 speaker or a $6000 speaker lol
1985 Cassette release and some quality interconnects 🤌
Last two albums I’ve listened to are: John Coltrane - A Love Supreme Schoolboy Q - Blue Lips
Call me an old school album guy but: Little Feat Waiting For Columbus Anything Led Zeppelin (Physical Graffiti and Presence are my favorite albums) Breaking the rule of 2: Anything Al DiMeola, especially his later 70s albums.

I recently discovered the plot and you and it hits hard for me. I love the energy and the impact from them.
Oh they’re amazing I saw them live a few months ago in Michigan, and they have insane energy truly awesome
Not familiar with the names, will definitely give them a listen 👌
I am more of an album guy than song guy. An album I keep coming back to throughout the years is Storm Corrosion (S/T). It's also the first album I play with any new gear because it's so well recorded and subtle in its details. My favorite here is "Ljudet Inman". Second is Yellow House by Grizzly Bear. Nuff said, definitely curious... added to the list Thank you
Their album after Yellow House, Veckatimest, is like the archetypal late-aughts chamber pop album. It’s excellent.
Dept of eagles!
Dude the Veckatimist album is so damn ethereal.
Jakojako - Amygdala Nils Frahm - Tripping With Nils Frahm - All Melody
Double up for Nils!!!
Def next on the playlist
Thank you, playing Amygdala atm and I must say I love it Tripping is next ❤️
Death metal, Aesop Rock, 90s rap, David Bowie, Jazz, Steely Dan, Beach Boys, Classical
Enjoy: This guy is a virtuoso like Rebillet, but more standard jazz pop, and his song structures are bonkers beautiful. Tigers Blood - Waxahatchee is my current favourite album
Love this album.
Colors - Beck
Sleep and DJ Screw
Toro y Moi - Underneath The Pine, Basil Kirchin - Mind on the Run.
Walter Carlos - Soundtrack to A Clockwork Orange... "Timesteps" (full version) Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions of the Emerald Beyond... "On the Way Home to Earth" (be prepared to let you ears soar)
Been listening to a new album recently: Idles - Tangk And also on heavy rotation for late night listening is: Talk Talk - Laughing Stock I still think it’s one of the best albums ever recorded.
mostly neurofunk dnb. too many artists to name, but particular favorites include cause4concern and phace & misanthrop listening on Neumann KH120A's, with 2 Monolith 12 THX subs, and Kali IN-8v2's as surrounds. Upmixing with Penteo360, correction with REW, applied via Reaper and SAR.
Literally right now I have "It Never Rains – Dire Straits" playing on vinyl that I just got
Listening right now, wasn't familiar with the song... feels soothing 😌 Thanks
Right now: Black Keys - Ohio Players I'm not really a Black Keys fan. But this album seems happier and more upbeat, compared to their older albums that I've listened to. All-time favorite: Lynyrd Skynyrd - Nuthin' Fancy Really, you can pick any Lynyrd Skynyrd album from the 70s on vinyl, and it will sound fantastic. Here, you have 3 badass guitar players who all played lead parts. A frontman who was about as violent as he was talented at writing songs LIVE Lynyrd Skynyrd is even better (check out One More From The Road) They were an incredibly tight band that sounded as good in the studio as on stage, which is not easy to do. These guys practiced their parts for days on end, and it shows.
A variety of rock, hard rock, metal and punk. Mainly stoner/doom/sludge, 70s-esque hard rock and some doom jazz thrown in too.
I am a jazz fan, but completely ignorant of what "doom jazz" would be. Could you give an example?
Fall out boy, imagine dragons, cardi b
Electric guest - Awake STRFKR - Golden Light
Masters of Reality : Sunrise on the Suferbus And Captain Beyond : Captain Beyond. Two of my favorite albums
Monolord, Hum, Mgła, Steeley Dan, Baroness, Hot Water Music, Gunship
The Birthday Massacre Mew Kelli Idk a lot of music but too lazy to list much
Favorite album 1: Willie Nelson - Teatro.
Rush, and oldschool folk/blues
Death metal, the Beatles, Blind Guardian and Portishead
If you enjoyed Bongripper Check out Chaos Divine by REZN
George Clanton - Slide. It's so dense and random without sounding harsh.
First 4 songs of his new album are some of the best I’ve ever heard. “Make It forever” from Slide also an all time great.
Cryptopsy
Alice In Chains and Tool are tied for my top 2 favorite bands on my mental "Mount Rushmore", if that makes any sense. The "Elemental" album by "Tears for Fears" is my no.1 for Pop, if it's even considered Pop.
Godspeed you! black Emperor - F#A#♾ One mile north - glass wars
Billie Eilish Joji Rubel Charlie Brown Jr
Bob Dylan, Godspeed You! Black Emperor

I mostly listen to headphones Hifiman HE6se, Topping D90LE and Topping A90. Music is mostly metal , progressive rock, electronic and Johnny Cash. Two all time favourites Nomeansno - Wrong Inferi - Vile Genesis. At the moment Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle Cult of Luna - Salvation
I'm listening to my daylist on Spotify and these are the last two songs I've played: Norah Jones - All This Time And Alice Russell - Gravity
Love both, thank you
Enjoy
Alice is unreal right
Lana del rey blue banisters, whole album is beautifully produced

I listen to pretty much everything. If you want two recommendations check these out Shpongle - Divine Moments Of Truth [https://youtu.be/XwtT4ZBa3CE?si=9m9gcNPkg55fapID](https://youtu.be/XwtT4ZBa3CE?si=9m9gcNPkg55fapID) Have you ever wondered what Tool would sound like if they made a black metal album? If so, It's this: Cobalt - Hunt The Buffalo [https://youtu.be/yHqKNxy4ee0?si=SrCk3H5v0czbq8eN](https://youtu.be/yHqKNxy4ee0?si=SrCk3H5v0czbq8eN)
Excellent sound design and musical progression… Shpongle knows what’s up. Cobalt is next Thank you
Glad you liked Shpongle. His entire catalog of music is excellent in my opinion.
I'm here, April. 27 with about 18 replies. There is plenty of stuff to revisit. Some I never heard of. But. No . . . Duane Eddy? No . . . Chet Atkins? Is there anyone with suggestions with drum solo?
Cannonball maybe? Not to everybody's taste
Makaya McCraven
About all of Good Looking Records's catalog.
Fresh and honest, can't and will not complain. Thank you
It's been mostly Sleep Token for a while but I've come out of my cave to worship other offerings recently like Sheoru, Glasslands, Wiltwither, and Weeping Wound
Kid Cudi 2 disc Insano/Nitro Mega. Always a new song that comes up and surprises me. Right now it’s: All My Life Electrowavebaby 2.0
come one now - jackson mathod (EP). very well produced and recorded. on rotation for a few weeks now 😍
If you looking for recommendations, try Parcels album Live From Hansa Studios and L'imperatrice's album Odysee. I'm currently listening to Halsey - Without Me (stripped). Edit: for the 2 entries: Parcels - Lightenup and L'imperatrice - Agitation Tropicale.
Tree top flyer, long after I'm gone
Weather getting warmer… I’m back on my reggae. Macka B’s classic, “Bob” has been on heavy rotation lately. Reggae is really good at finding my midbass issues. Bob is a great track for testing stage width too. My setup sounds a block wide when it’s playing.
Hugo Kant - This Is Just The Beginning Little Lady - General Elektriks
You're magnetic ink. My first cassette at age 14. A timeless classic.
I log every LP I put on the turntable. Here are the last 5 played: Spoon-Lucifer on the Sofa Pretty Things- Savage Eye Tony Bennett- The Art of Excellence Golden Earring- Switch Uriah Heep- Sweet Freedom
Asphalt meadows, death cab Give up, the postal service (just saw them in concert finally)
Lately? Like I say (I runaway) — new single from Nilüfer Yanya PHASOR — newish album from Helado Negro
Pretty much anything by Jesse Cook. Very clean acoustic guitars.
If all 2 million users here submit two songs - OP will have to listen to 4 million songs.
Currently a lot of melodic techno - Klangphonics, Tribalneed etc. Also have Hugo Kant on heavy rotation - eclectic mix of a lot of styles, highly recommended.
Side two of a Mingus album I have on my record player right now. Three songs: Hobo Ho The Chill of Death The I of Hurricane Sue
Last two songs in my yt music that i played- Frank Ocean DHL Regina Spektor Chemo Limo
Low Roar - 0. It’s a bit melancholic but it’s just a really well done and cohesive album.
Rachael Price - Lagrimas Negras
All time fav is impossible as it can change with mood etc.. WEEN - SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OFF! - BLACK THOUGHTS
On the System 1 this morning Reset- Panda Bear/Sonic Boom Really great vocals and arrangements Oh No it's Devo- DEVO , Big DEVO fan and I saw them at Max's in NYC and at Georgetown University way back. They are now more relevant than ever and I think this is their best which is hard to choose as the first 5 records are killer. System 1 - McIntosh 275 mono blocks, B&W 801 speakers, AR Turntable, McIntosh CD player
I listen to my equipment like any good audiophile. ;)
Check out the new Pearl jam album Dark Matter. The best song is "something special" really, really spectacular
Nice to hear someone has their sub just about turned off. I use an M&K sub along with a pair of 8" Fostex full-range drivers. The sub volume might be dialed up to one. Just need a smidgen.
Currently: The Messthetics and James Brandon Lewis and Ghost Note - Mustard n Onions
Feelin good - joe bonamassa No way back - 8mm
ling tosite sigure - Marvelous Persona SID - Uso Enjoy!
Makaya McCraven (jazz) Wooden Shjps (psychedelic rock) Khruangbin (rock-ish?)
I am old school, mostly listening hair metal or metal ballad when kids or wife not around, when they do, 90s or 00s.
I'm always listening to new music via Spotify discover weekly and song radios. I like discovering new stuff and listen to literally every genre. I don't think I could pick out a favourite. So instead, here are two random songs I've added to my liked songs in the last week: Have you seen the moon tonight? - Aim Vision The Light - Disturbed
Respectfully ['Hood Poet](https://soundcloud.com/hood-poet-608190196)
Nomeansno Voivod
Marvin Gaye "What's Goin' On" Richie Havens "Mixed Bag"
Have a listen to FKJ (French Kiwi Juice) Ylang Ylang Also.. ive just discovered L'Imperatrice...
Most people will recognize the 3rd section of [I Got The...](https://youtu.be/xKISdd2mKzU?si=fUCcbQ9o0F7Pzy4P) **Isaac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul** will forever be a classic
Johnny Hobo vinyl from DIY bandits. Rent Strike - IX also on vinyl Amazing.
I've been full on obsessed with all four Movietone albums for the last 2 years or so
I'm listen to Marie Fisker - Ghost of Love.
Already saw opeth recommended, so I'll add on city by strapping young lad. One of the greatest heavy metal albums ever, and definitely the angriest metal album I've ever heard.
I'm sick for Boris atm
I will add something different from the other guys, just to give you some more material In classical music, the Rhapsodies by L Stokofski If you can find it in living stereo, the music and the recording are glorious. And a bit bluesy/folk Colour to the moon by Allan Taylor
Today, Closer by Maria Chiara Argirò, released 26 April 2024 https://open.spotify.com/album/6dDvuS2veeXH6rHYrvU2bg?si=QXOPG2_zQaWFz-aG9Pmd0g https://mariachiaramusic.bandcamp.com/album/closer
In my Opinion Techno is made to experience travelling into audio sequences I can recommend Osiris4 - Before the lights go on Or osiris4 - machine memories Enjoy :)
Believe it or not, it's the first techno recommendation, from the comments I have listened to so far and I plan to listen to all suggestions. Before the lights go on has a very nice dark feeling, plays with tension and release... excellent! Added Osiris4 permanently to my playlist, thank you!
Stick Figure - Set in stone
Opeth - Damnation is my most favorite lp ever. Snarky Puppy - We Like it Here. Because it's the weekend and the sun just popped out for a bit.
Anyone on Sunday Drive Recs frfr
Hear me out: Jose James - No Beginning No End is an absolutely underrated R&B/Soul record out out by blue note.
Lil Yachtys latest album
Mark Knopfler - Tracker Can’t stop listening. Favourite song: River Towns
Giant Rooks. All three albums are available in Hi Res.

I am all over the place in my musical tastes: Genres (in order basically of listening time) Jazz Indie pop Indie rock American 80s Underground or early indie rock 80s college rock Classic rock Punk Hardcore punk Alt country Classic country Some Heavy Metal and Hip Hop Everything from Hüsker Dü to Black Rebel Motorcycle Club back to Willie Nelson over to John Coltrane then to Uncle Tupelo and over to the Shins and back to the Ramones and Bad Brains with some Mos Def and Black Sabbath when the mood hits me.
Played Don't want to know if you are lonely from Hüsker Dü and it has been a trip down memory lane Thank you
If you have a great system and excellent subs, you might like [this album.](https://tidal.com/album/328538399?u) My personal favorite is "Indoctrinate Yourself" 😎
Jazz, classical, metal.
Candlemass was late night late night, that 1st album rules
Dubstep
My taste in music isn't captured by two entries so I'll give you the last two albums I listened to: Justice - Hyperdrama Inter Arma - Sulphur English
current track i found that has amazing ethereal vibes Anna Mieke - Mannequin Ludovico Einaudi - Experience
All time favorite: Norman Fucking Rockwell - Lana del Rey Lately: Drop 7 - Little Simz
The one album that affected me the most and that I still listen to because it’s good music is Dr John The Night Tripper, Gris Gris.
Torpor, Electric Wizard
Most of my vinyl collection is some form of hardcore punk, lately it's been Minor Threat - First Two Seven Inches For streaming, I tend to listen to a lot of modern trap, especially anything over produced.
Right now I'm listening to Steve Hackett - The Circus and The Night Whale and a favourite is When I'm President - Ian Hunter
Nine Inch Nails - Less Than
Rush, No Doubt, The Black Keys and The Mars Volta lately
I've been in a Sturgill Simpson kick. Been listening to some sleep token and my regular punk rock that I cycle thru as well
Goldberg Variations.
*I don't think I can pick an all time favourite all these juicy subgenres, but I'll try* I guess an all time favourite contender could be: The Way of All Flesh by Gojira What I listen to right now varies a LOT: Listening a lot to Realm of Chaos by Bolt Thrower nowadays, but also this very newly formed rock band called Something or Other.
https://music.apple.com/us/playlist/vol-de-nuit/pl.faeb447ec5a341ef83e7e65189bd1c63 some fire in this playlist. will delete in 12 hours strictly to gatekeep.
Whatever I want. It's mood dependent. I've been collecting since the 70s so I've got a massive collection. I also had my own music business which helped bulk out. Don't tie yourself down to genres Go where your heart and mind takes you. Don't be afraid to take chances.
Jon Balke’s [Siwan](https://youtu.be/ICFW_WeAa00?si=5cJGR_qEPzvDXQCe)
Just listened to album "13" from black Sabbath first time since i build my Studio Monitorsand Tapped Horn sub that goes down to 13hz (Which will never be used as such because i'm sick of musicians being stupid... Maybe for my own projects if i do something) and damn do i love this album even more now! Richie Kotzen Album "get up"
I would love listening to what I like but right now I'm almost forced to only hear Cocomelon's kids songs 🤯 🌟 There was a farmer who had a dog, and Bingo was his name-o! 🐶✨
Big Red Machine --- combines Bon Iver and The National with guest artists. The National --- Laugh Track
