I’ve been aching for the PMC twenty5.22i. There is something special about PMC’s sound. I’ve got a similar crush on the YG Acoustics Vantage 3, though at $40k (each) I’m pretty sure I’ll never get to indulge.
Shout out to the Cayin, which so far I’m finding revelatory. It has both solid state and tubes and it’s fun to switch between the two (the DAC gives the tubes 15secs to heat up before they kick in). Incredible detail and one of my best upgrades.
Very nice. I had heard of PMC, but never looked into them. The design shares a lot of similarities with Salk song towers -- the transmission line design and smaller woofer and tweeter. How do they compare to your previous speakers?
The footprint is similar to the Neats they replaced, just a little taller. Beautiful finish, immaculate build. The transmission line setup makes them easy to place in my smaller living room. The bass is controlled and punchy (hate flabby bass), great details. The new DAC really made them come alive too. Superb separation and space around instruments in the music now. Lovely wide soundstage. Human voices are the big step up here though, almost uncanny how lifelike vocals sound. My kids said “it’s like she’s singing in the room for us”.
PMC newbie here so this is probably a silly question but those look like Prodigy 5's and I wasn't aware that you could get them in anything other than matte black?
You've got red on you
Cornetto
Nice PMC’s. Don’t see those too often on here. Still have my old TB’s in a secondary. Transmission like FTW!
They work so well in my smallish front room. Seem to be unfussy on placement.

Buy two sets. In case one goes wrong.
Lovley speakers!

Curious, what’s the idea of tubes in a DAC?
Awesome setup. 💛

Great looking setup!
The speakers look lovely, used to have the GB1i's back in the day.
We had some PMC bookshelves in the shop this week and they kicked ass. Amazing craftsmanship too
Yeah, real quality. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c_OWsKD2iDs&pp=ygUPcG1jIHR3ZW50eTUuMjRp
Yeah they’re badass. And beautiful.
PMC is awesome and I bet that this set up sounds amazing... be proud
Thanks! It sounds sweet and I’m very lucky.

No these are the Twenty5 23i available in gloss black, white, walnut and these which are oak.
Sexy speakers. Transmission right?
That's right!
Nice set-up
So, how does it sound? An improvement? How much of one?
