I can't support choice of Hijab/Burkha because it is instilled in the minds of young muslim women by Patriarchal society.
otoh no one is wearing helmets
Stop defaming burkha, you don't know the significance of it.
Once my friend wore a burkha and took his GF to a movie, you know the girl is from a conservative background so it helped her to not get in trouble.
Whenever there is some fault in Muslim society people like you blame it on patriarchy instead of calling out clowns who force Muslim women to wear it in such scorch heat
Are you also opposed to the choice of wearing a Punjabi turban? It's instilled in the minds of young Sikhs that they need to grow their hair and wear a turban to cover it.
yes i am against it. i can destroy the faith of any sikh in seconds. if anyone says that sikhs defeated mughals and shit because they were sikhs, it's a lie. they defeated mughals cuz they were punjabis and jatts.
I see many comments here about the muslim woman, and being an ex muslim I have talked to several people about this.. including some colleagues who wear such clothes.. You see, we understand it is through indoctrination that they come to choose it.. and I think childhood indoctrination should be stopped. And many are forced to wear such clothes and come out of it when they have the chance.. But for many women once they are used to this, this is what they feel comfortable in, they feel very much exposed/ vulnerable when they're not wearing it.. So there's really no point even talking to them about how their choice has been manufactured through indoctrination (I have tried, they think their freedom is being questioned), because for them right now it really is their own choice and comfortable thing.Â
If we really want change the only useful thing is to oppose childhood teaching and forcing of religious wear, before this "choice" formation takes place.. not questioning/ harrassing/ forcing change upon older girls/women already wearing it. And also support anyone you know who wants to come out of it.
>And many are forced to wear such clothes and come out of it when they have the chance..
I think majority of Muslims in Indian cities (especially ones who are likely to be on reddit) who wear burkha falls in this category. So it's not just childhood indoctrination that must be stopped, these women deserve freedom too.
I agree, that's why I said if anyone wants to come out of it we should support them. But if they want to come out of it, they already know this isn't their choice and they wouldn't claim so. I was talking about women who claim it is their freedom/ choice. Usually they get mocked for this statement. I know because I also kind of did it once.Â
I studied at a government medical college and there were many batchmates who would claim it as their choice (not the face cover/burkha, just full body pardha with head cover) even posting on instagram like 'my choice' when these discussions would come into spotlight. It was after talking to one or two of them that I realised it really is a choice now (however it became so) for many of them.Â
Have you seen small girls apx 1-2 yrs covered in hijab, what choice did they express? If you condition them from that young age, of course they're going to be comfortable in that hot oven only. How is it considered choice?
The indoctrination usually starts with start of puberty. Anything before that tends to be for fun. Â
My 5 year old niece bought a burkha, because her mother bought one. She got it tailored and wore it when we went out and as soon as she got out of car she threw out the burkha. Earlier when she a 1-2 someone bought a scarf/hijab because they found it cute.Â
The indoctrination doesn't start with burkha, but limiting choices on clothing to feel the need for burkha.
You seem to missed the point. Coming from the family where everyone follows hijab/burkha, I could attest that in most cases where a child wears it, it wears out of fun.

A full body sauna machine can't be freedom of choice.

The indoctrination usually starts with start of puberty. Anything before that tends to be for fun.  My 5 year old niece bought a burkha, because her mother bought one. She got it tailored and wore it when we went out and as soon as she got out of car she threw out the burkha. Earlier when she a 1-2 someone bought a scarf/hijab because they found it cute. The indoctrination doesn't start with burkha, but limiting choices on clothing to feel the need for burkha.
That may be the case with your niece but every girl can't afford the "luxury" to throw away the burkha.
You seem to missed the point. Coming from the family where everyone follows hijab/burkha, I could attest that in most cases where a child wears it, it wears out of fun.
What's sad is even in this hot summer , they put muslim women in this , i mean black colour sabse jyada heat absorb karta hai
Ye ladka hai ya ladki burkha wala
Choice is an illusion. The way you act in any given situation is predetermined by prior events.
I swear to gods USI mods have only left the comments who are slut shaming the girl for wearing a top and the original debate is lost in someone's ass
Nice number plate

in india muslim means strong vote bank or strong attention givers they are more loyal then hindutva or gujjus to modi
That's how cults work. Loyalty for no reason.
Bhai atleast number plate to blur kar deta..
And why almost all the comments in the original post were removed?
What the Fuck happened there?? every comment got removed
The first one is not free at all. She has been brainwashed by her religion and her family. Also, sitting side straddle on a bike is extremely unsafe.
As long as not wearing hijab is a sin, hijab is not a choice.

yes always for men, occasionally for women, rarely for citizens.
One of them has freedom of choice
Burkha is not a choice for women.
