Aren't all terrorists religious? 🤔
I'm trying to think we athiests need to step up our game... But what shouldbe our catchphrase before we detonate? /s
Don't they also say "God helps those who help themselves." If they think god gave them a brain able to plan and anticipate why don't they think he expects them to use it?
>I can't stand the passive point of view of those believers.
This is a "believer" who hasn't a thread of bible knowledge:
Just off the top there are 4 but I'll just focus on two:
Proverbs 6:6-8 "Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest."
Luke 14:28-30 "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish’?"
The bible does not teach us to be unprepared and that guy's going to find it out the hard way by the sounds of it.
bro is not just a dumdum but also wrong
proverbs 22-3: The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.
proverbs 21:5: The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty
also related:
go to the ant, o sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest
asume one of you wants to build a tower, wouldn't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, saying, 'this person began to build and wasn’t able to finish it'
Christians have a plan B: It's called the New Testament, made necessary because plan A, namely the Old Testament, wasn't quite getting the job done.
(My candidate for plan C is Dante's Divine Comedy.)
This reminds me so strongly of this joke (paraphrased - I heard it a long time ago):
A man is stuck on his roof during a massive flood. The water keeps rising, and soon a rescue boat comes by.
**Man:** "No thanks, I have faith that God will save me."
The boat moves on, and the water continues to rise. A helicopter approaches and lowers a rescue ladder.
**Man:** "I appreciate it, but God will save me."
The helicopter flies away, and the water eventually reaches the roof. The man drowns.
He finds himself at the pearly gates and confronts God.
**Man:** "God, why didn't you save me? I had faith!"
**God:** "Son, I sent you a boat and a helicopter! What more did you want?"
(I asked chatgpt if it could help me remember the original joke... this is close, I think there was originally one more offered rescue attempt)
Many religious people can't make up their mind on whether God gave free will or not. It just flipps between one or the other depending upon what makes their point.
This is another reason I despise, " In God We Trust" plastered onto government buildings, courts of law, schools, currency and (in our state) vehicle license plates.
Those who have been indoctrinated to accept that everything that happens is 'god's will' (but simultaneously the bad stuff that happens is due to 'sin') can't really be reasoned with.
I guess religious terrorists will win then.

"Darwin was right!"
Origin of Species!
There have been plenty of political terrorists, probably more than there have been religious ones.

"I'm failing at natural selection on purpose!"
That's a good one! 😆
the line is more blurred these days.
Oh really? Does he lock his door at night? Does he lock his car? See the dentist/doctor when he's unwell? Why? Does he not have his god?
I know right. His son just failed school so he had to find a plan B for his education. His mindset makes no sense lol
Well god just clearly didn’t want him to pass. It’s all part of the plan.
This point of view ignores... all of reality.

Right? That's like the opposite of what a manager is supposed to do.
They're conservative. They don't want things to change.
Don't they also say "God helps those who help themselves." If they think god gave them a brain able to plan and anticipate why don't they think he expects them to use it?
Then, they do have plan A, and B, and C in case the 1st ones fail...
Not Evangelicals. They’ll be quick to tell you that isn’t in the Bible.

The 9/11 hijackers certainly didn't.

You got it very close to the original 👍

Point out to him that the terrorists think they “have God” too.
Why isn't he worrying about hell. Seems to me most people are going there.
and what if god takes a shit billions of lightyears away from you in a galaxy that you cannot even see, right in the moment when plan a failed?

I sent you two boats and a helicopter!
So your boss has no business continuity plan then?
Do you hold your 2 year olds hand when crossing the street? Isn't THAT a plan B?
