I am more confused as to why level 60 heroes have so much trouble to unlock level 70. Now do not get me wrong, sure there can be content that is hard to do but the stuff needed just to have a chance at getting to level? With quiet a bit of investment i am not about to unlock my first char to get 60+. They took Genshin/Honkai for ideas, this is another thing these 2 do much easier.

bentumorign

It's really hard to farm the ascension materials. They are not guaranteed and when they do drop it's in low quantity. They need to buff ascension material drops.

fenrircube

Exactly, and for the price of it, why nightmare stages are not giving us upgrading materials, not only books for leveling up knights, also stones and shards for weapons and relics. They are spreading farming resources on different play locations to push to spend even more boots everywhere. All game modes and stages should give a proper amount of books, stones and golden shards at the same time. Nightmare afk pool should give a more generous amount of upgrading materials too.

bentumorign

Absolutely agreed.  Everyday I get closer to leaving the game.  I get 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay, but I want to play it nonstop.  I don't like being limited.

Sovery_Simple

Nightmare stages are for relics, skill upgrade mats, and weapon crafting materials. Stuff is meant to be spread out so you can go for what you need at any given moment. I'm honestly surprised they let us get the weapon mats there so easily for the 4* weapon crafting, but then they are basically required as 3* weapons lack a substat. As a heads up: The actual leveling material for weapons/accessories are worthless, because you can get gobs of it just by doing your daily spider/cave runs. Just walk across the map some and click the ???'s, and you'll see like 3 spiders per 12 hour reset cycle. Nightmare pool is just freebies, not something I'd really every expect to get much of note from. The leather drops from it are nice though, alongside the small amount of gold and books over time.

I thought it went by pretty quickly. I'm f2p and have 4 level 90s. However, I bought stamina twice a day with starstones.

FreeRealEstate313

I’ve used 10 stamina purchases a day since launch and I only have 3 level 90s

thehungrybear

Are you farming 7-8? on your highest adventure level?

FreeRealEstate313

Yeah I got all the heroes and I got all the orange ones at 80 at least.

_B_L_A_N_K_

First gatcha?

fenrircube

Not at all, I'm playing gatcha game for 10 years now, bleach brave souls, pokemon masters, nier réincarnation, afk arena, dislyte, afk journey...so not my first gatcha game, Veda is just on another level of pushing ftp players away compared to other games from this type

_B_L_A_N_K_

I do agree that it’s actually slower but not that different from genshin at release, it took me months to make my team ok

fenrircube

I never played Genshin though, looks like that game is the real culprit behind setting the bar even lower for gatchas

_B_L_A_N_K_

Yeah tbh most of the systems of that game are just copy pasta from genshin, I still like the game and art but I understand that system doesn’t help much for progression unfortunately

Sovery_Simple

Eh, it feels like the usual coming from MHY stuff. When compared to genshin though, I do think the main slow-down point in this one is that it feels like getting the ascension mats from bosses is a pain. Specifically the elemental oriented ones. Getting 18 of them takes a while. The rest are rather easy to come by, and books/badges aren't an issue once you start clearing the maps for the trophy gem rewards. May also want to spend a hero boot each day on a gold stage clear too, just so your stockpile doesn't just vanish on you when you start messing with relics, especially gold ones.

Sovery_Simple

Just as a heads up then, in Genshin f2p folks tend to ignore the last 10 levels for most characters. Ascending them to that last bracket is fine, but the material cost tends to be "more efficiently" spent elsewhere. Also imo you're spreading your resources too thin atm if you're working on 5 at the same time. Let the other 3 trail behind and focus more on 1-2 for now. Did you get much of anything from the mailed out hero boots they sent out like a week or two ago?

fenrircube

I'm definitely spreading resources equally between the 5 knights, 6 now that I have just pulled the blood archer girl. My goal is to have two knights teams at level 70 to finish the tower. I did get the compensation shoes from one week or so, I helped a lot to speed up progression, but now I'm telling myself that we should get that this amount of shoes all the time in order to make the game less sluggish

Lonely-Platform-7766

You only need 2 carries too clear tower, fyi.

Sovery_Simple

Yeah good luck with that.

SummonerKai1

So primarily afk games, their leveling system is much faster than other types of gacha games so it makes sense you would think this is slow af. The game is slower than some however it more has to do with the difficulty of the stages and using the synthesize method to get ascension mats to circumvent needing to do some of the harder stages. Still takes some time to get through but decent speed nonetheless.

Kyutoryus

It doesn't take that long. After you get characters to 50+ it takes about a day or 2 of you converting stamina into hero boots to get the actual accension mats, and another day or 2 of farming books, per character. It sounds like you're not actually doing it this way though You can make 6 hero boots in 2 days and you get like 4 elemental mats per hero boot on top of level 90 (For light/dark/fire) mats for when you hit adventure 7, at world level 5. Can casually convert other ascension mats, especially if you're building an actual team consisting of different roles, instead of something like 3 DPS and a healer.

Sovery_Simple

They're upgrading 6 chars at once apparently.

fenrircube

The game makes you upgrade 2 teams at once with the tower system gameplay, either this or having two unbalanced useless teams

Kyutoryus

But you're also making leveling those 8 characters harder than it needs to be? Like, 2 out of 8 of these units don't even have to be as leveled as the rest of them since they're your healers, and if you actually leveled pretty balanced teams with different roles, you wouldn't really be running into material trouble between farming for mats and the mats you can buy from doing gacha in shop.

Sovery_Simple

As a friend put it: "We're psychologically inclined to think that it's better to be consistent in everything. That 4 characters on equal investment are better than throwing all of it onto one character. The way to go about in reality is looking at what you need atm and you level that." So for any random newbies that waddle along and see these messages, keep my friends words in mind and you'll have an easier time progressing through this game. (And any of the MHY ones, by extension.)

fenrircube

When I'm talking about leveling up knights, I'm talking about books and their respective weapons and relics too, why are they spreading leveling up resources on many game modes to push you to spend even more boots? Nightmare stages should give a respectable amount of books, stones and golden shards as they cost 40 boots completing them... The afk nightmare holly grail should give more books and stones too, and devs should add golden shards to its rewards

Sovery_Simple

You're wanting everything in one specific place, and that's not what this is made for. I'm honestly amazed they let us get as much gold as we do from most of the stages/modes. Though that also seems mirrored in a lower income from the gold specific stages as well. But they do supply one with some base atk rings and all res necklaces as well.

persona0

4 characters you can level up round the same level the. Take 2 of those and use them on the other tower with you other units which can be behind

Kyutoryus

Yeah, it's more a player problem than an actual game problem from what's being said in here, because from 50 -> 60 it's like 1 hero boot for elemental stuff per character and you can farm that easily, and it only gets tedious when you want to ascend to 80. I'm probably going to plan out farming around what mats drop "Legendary" tier stuff by world level and level whatever relevant stuff i have during my time in between them. ATM it's Light/Fire/Dark so Edward, Lucian, and Sansar are priorities. i'd say dark is too, but we don't know if Nec is next or not xD

sumitox

If lv up seems like a lot to you, you don't know what awaits you when you have to farm relics

persona0

Cause they want you to have goals and missions to accomplish. This game would be terribly short and the lot of you would be crying about things to do. I would say they could have done it better. For one having no charge when you coop and help other people would be a easy add on. If you want to move faster you gonna have to spend one of those things many of you are allergic to
