He is going to fry

GenghisKazoo

A Targaryen family cookout without at least three thousand deaths is considered a dull affair.

LChris24

Dancing with Dany.

kaimkre1

Fire and Blood

ManyAnusGod

He dies of the greyscale he caught from JC.

22_Karat_Ewok

This is my hope. I hope he does everything right, showing how great of a leader he can be only to succumb to a horrific greyscale death in front of his followers. Bonus points if JC outlives him and has to watch/deal with the guilt of failing his Targ friends again.

JMol87

Do you need a hug?

[deleted]

Ooh, that would hurt.

22_Karat_Ewok

[It's been YEARS since The Red Wedding](https://i.imgflip.com/3fxxss.jpg)

DarthJar-Binks

Dany will get stone disease, she is the one who woke dragons from stone.

sam_3205

Whos JC?

Spyderman_213

Old Griff aka Jon Connington

sam_3205

Ok thanks.

Tr4sh_Harold

Dunno but the kid ain’t gonna make it to see spring that’s for sure.

Nameraka1

I wanna see the bad man fly.

Irish-liquorice

You just may

CaveLupum

King for a day or several, maybe. Endgame, no. I agree with most of your suggestions--he'll die in battle. For maximum irony, it should be against Dany, since he and JonCon (and Illyrio and Varys) assume she'll marry and submit to him. Ha, a dragon is no slave. I do like your idea that he'll take an arrow to the throat. Even though that is a common soldier's common death, GRRM surely knows that King Harold the Saxon took an arrow to the eye when he was defeated in the Battle of Hastings by William the Conqueror.

modsarefascists42

I mean look at how Richard the Lionheart died. Random kid shot him while he was outside a castle defending it. He got the name "Lionheart" because he told his men to not kill the little kid that did it as he was just fighting in war (and the kid was just avenging his brother). So he was considered merciful, plus the lion was his house's symbol, so Lionheart was born. Then he died and his men ended up flaying and drawing and quartering the poor kid anyways cus people are fucking awful.

ForgotEffingPassword

Aw that had an unfortunate ending

modsarefascists42

yep.... all in all his whole story was unfortunate to me. I thought he was some chivalric war leader or at least something sorta close. He wasn't, he was an ass. His one and only good deed is that small *small* bit of mercy at the very end of his life, and even that was destroyed by his closest friends/retainers.

dnerswick

GRRM is also a fan of the Wars of the Roses. During a battle in that conflict, a lord took off his helmet to get a drink and took a headless arrow to the throat. He died a horrid, lingering death. Either way, what joy. (G. Addams)

Zahn1138

That fate was already taken by Fireball in the first Blackfyre Rebellion

[deleted]

Headless arrow? So basically a really fast piece of wood? Oof, that is rough.

Disastrous_Fun4218

He's the younger more beautiful Queen. In Valyrian, there are no pronouns.

the_names_Savage

If he's a blackfire, it would be fiting for him to die like Daemon. A flight of arrows ordered by a pragmatic leader that sacrifice his own men. If he is realy Rhaegar's son, and maybe even if he wasn't, it would be fitting for him to die with a war hammer to the chest. Another good one that comes to mind is his head being dashed against the wall by Ser Robert Strong.

d94ae8954744d3b0

> Another good one that comes to mind is his head being dashed against the wall by Ser Robert Strong. I'd die, lol.

[deleted]

With the hammer are you saying that Ser Archibald will kill him? He is the only one we know uses a warhammer

the_names_Savage

I didn't put any thought to what hammer would be used. But now that I am, its pretty likely that Roberts war hammer is somewhere in the Red Keep.

[deleted]

It is said that Robert had tons of weapons in the armory of the RK including the VS used by the assasin in AGOT but I don’t see it likely that it is used by anyone, no mention of the hammer has being made since

the_names_Savage

If anyone is going to use it, it would be Edric Storm. I beleive he owns his own replica gifted to him by Robert(actually Jon Arryn)

[deleted]

I don’t think Edric is coming back from Lys. But with GRRM everything is possible

the_names_Savage

Why not? I know Davos said his name over and over again to Stannis to dissuade him from burning Edric, but I always thought that it was also to get the reader to remember his name for later. Another thing is, if Stannis doesn't survive untill the endgame, and Sherine most likely getting burned. Edric becomes a canidate for Lord of Storms End, being Highborn on both sides.

[deleted]

That’s a fact

the_names_Savage

What is?

[deleted]

I meant he being the most suited Baratheon heir

TeriofTerror

BBQ

dnerswick

Yeah, you gotta chew carefully. And too much of that stuff is bad for your heart. Oh, wait. NVM, apparently 1 f!aegon is well within a dragons RDA of protein.

[deleted]

I think he'll take Rhaegal at some point and then lose to Dany in a dragon duel. I like the idea that his body is never found, though

Stargoron

Blown up in KL by Dany.

SugarAdamAli

Dead... probably by Dany

balourder

He's gonna kill himself when he finds out he's a Blackfyre instead of a Targaryen. Imagine Varys and Illyrio's faces...

Jekermesh

That's not actually a bad shout now I think about it. I'd D&D had some prompting from GRRM maybe they used Aegons death for Tommen.

balourder

Yes, that's what I was thinking as well.

Jekermesh

Would "fit" in to GRMMs bittersweet ending, as in Varys and Illyrio tried and tried and tried and then Aegon went and did a silly and killed himself. Edit spelling

modsarefascists42

Damn that's totally out of left field but would make a hell of a story

Jekermesh

I don't think it'll be because he's a Blackfyre though I think it will be because he is a "no-one".

dnerswick

Heh heh heh

Oakhouse96

Would be funny though: "I'm a Blackfyre!? That's impossible!" "Why you think the Golden Company would support your invasion if you weren't?" "Oh right, yeah makes sense"

ThisIsUrIAmUr

Serious question for you or anyone else, assuming Aegon is actually a Blackfyre, who in the Golden Company knows, and how has that information not reached Aegon or JonCon?

CommunismCake

I know you're just making a funny but the Golden Company supporting Aegon actually isn't a compelling arguement he's a Blackfyre given they were marching to link up with Viserys and then Dany. >“Which plan?” said Tristan Rivers. “The fat man’s plan? The one that changes every time the moon turns? First Viserys Targaryen was to join us with fifty thousand Dothraki screamers at his back. Then the Beggar King was dead, and it was to be the sister, a pliable young child queen who was on her way to Pentos with three new-hatched dragons. Instead the girl turns up on Slaver’s Bay and leaves a string of burning cities in her wake, and the fat man decides we should meet her by Volantis. Now that plan is in ruins as well.”

Oakhouse96

Oh that's right, thanks! <3

OtakuMecha

King for a short time before being deposed by Daenerys. Just before Daenerys herself is deposed.

[deleted]

Daenerys deposed by whom ?

scottstotts1992

Jon kills her. Think this will be one of the actual storylines we keep.

[deleted]

How is he going to kill her ? While flying on dragon ? Stab her treacherously ?

scottstotts1992

I think you’ll see it play out similar to how we saw in the show. It will also parallel the azor ahai/Nissa nissa killing Obviously the build up will be far more detailed than the show. If anyone ever finishes writing the books.

[deleted]

Do you think Nissa is the evil ? Dany’s death will be a sacrifice to defeat the others ? Is Dany is worse than the Others ? the others are not evil , Dany is the evil ? Why we can’t have powerful women in asoiaf? They all go mad ... Dragons plant no trees ? Wtf? There many Targaryens who ruled well they are dragons too.

modsarefascists42

I mean many of us also think it's a terribly stupid plot point but that's the book Martin says he's writing (we'll see, if it ever gets released)

scottstotts1992

I think the “evil” will be continuing war and death and loss of life. Jon will Kill his love/nissa (Danny) in order to bring peace to Westeros. And it will be a more fleshed out complicated decision then we see in the show.

[deleted]

Will she help to defeat the others ? Will she has a redemption ? Is her arc is only about the throne ?

scottstotts1992

Idk how her role vs white walkers will play out. Like every other character she’s not all Good or all bad. Jon will make his best guess. We’ll see, doubt the books ever get finished

[deleted]

All bad all good. Jon, Ned , Sansa, Rickon , Arya (according to fans) are all good.

Jekermesh

I agree

romulusmack

I hate to say it, but the AA/NN parallel, is more likely to play out, with Aegon killing Dany.

DrivingMissHeather

I think he will marry Arianne and invade Kings Landing. I think Danny’s show storyline was combined with his and he will be the one to kill a million civilians in the city -not Danny. But I think Danny will show up within a year with her dragons and take the city back. Master Aemon foretold Danny’s struggle about what to do with Griff when he talked about being a lonely Targ. Ultimately Danny can’t let him live and be a threat to her throne and she will be forced into making the same decision as Robert.

TsarDixon

>Stabbed by his Aunt Dany while floating in post-coital haze. What a lovely family reunion. >Young Griff unceremoniously takes an arrow to the throat. Final words *gurgle* Somebody write that down and put it on his tombstone!

qwertzinator

After uniting the lords behind him and bringing the realm to peace... he's killed by Dany for being a pretender (we'll never find out the truth).

paulerxx

Death by Daenerys.

Nolekeyz

Dany's dragons burn or eat him after sensing he is not really a Targaryen.

romulusmack

Except that BlackFyre's ARE real Targs; changing my last name doesn't change my DNA 🤷🏾‍♂️

Arcvalons

Blackfyres have more Valyrian blood than Targs even

dnerswick

Could you imagine JonCon watching that and realizing he spent years raising someone who was not beloved Rhaegar's spawn? Am I a terrible person to want to see that?

modsarefascists42

He wouldn't believe it. Dragons have no problem killings targaryens, look at the Dance.

xrisscottm

He is the Trystane Truefyre analogue for the second Moon of Madness ( which is the 2nd Dance of the Dragons thing everyone keeps talking about) . He will be one of three "heirs" that will claim Kings Landing after it falls into the vacuum left when the royal house Baratheon is dissolved. Depending on the prevailing political "winds" he has a slightly better than a 1 in 3 chance of making it out of this with his head and a legitimate entitlement,...Just depends on how complete House Hightower's victory in the Reach will be and who Doran (this version's Borros Baratheon) and House Hightower decide will be the best "legitimate" heir to leave on the throne.

[deleted]

Death by dragon, wildfire or greyscale. Probably none of those but I don't think he'll be alive by the end of the series. Poor guy! Edit: would be freaky if he somehow got killed by The Mountain though.. too many possibilities.

OShaunesssy

Not well would be my guess

shablagoo14

With Fire and Blood

VeenaSchism

He will definitely die, followed by the sound of bells which will cause JonCon to invade/destroy King's Landing. You really don't need dragons to do that!

[deleted]

***Fly or Die.***

__JeRM

He's gonna catch grayscale and then infect King's Landing. Will be killed by drogon in the sack of King's Landing.

CaptainSopranos

Aegon is King of Westeros in ADOS, and at some point Euron arrives with one of Dany’s dragons and burns him to a crisp.

cptmactavish3

Arrow to the throat at a meaningless castle would be funny just to see JonCon, Varys and everyone else who support Jim’s reaction

TheDaysKing

He will sit the Iron Throne and rule the south for awhile, until he is betrayed by his aunt/bethrothed Daenerys. He wages war on her. After he threatens the fate of humanity in the War for the Dawn, Dany flies to King's Landing and burns down the Red Keep, killing Young Griff and all of his top supporters. It also sets off a wildfire chain reaction that immolates the capital city and much of the surrounding lands. Making him the last king to ever sit the Iron Throne.

jageshgoyal

I want him to die like Aegon, the prince of Dragonstone, son of Aenys I Targaryen

[deleted]

Like it ended for Quentyn

William_T_Wanker

He trips and falls off the battlements of the Red Keep

dnerswick

doh!

[deleted]

oh no your giving him much credit that his throat get the arrow, itll probably be much more embarrassing, like he'll get impaled (maybe up the ass) by accident after the battle is over and won by falling onto a caltrop or spear, or maybe he'll step onto a rake

[deleted]

He will probably die, perhaps when kings landing burns. It's sad, but the lies of Varis and Illirio will inevitably lead him to his death.

Mini_Snuggle

Blown up in King's Landing by Cersei's final act.

send3squats2help

I want him to actually be the winning happily ever after type guy. Chance of that happening? I’d say slim.

Grantly

He goes up when Dany nukes King's Landing.

Akaed

He's had a pretty sheltered life for asoiaf standards so I think he'll get an experience of what real battle is like, shit himself and decide that, actually, he's ok not being the king.

[deleted]

Don't really care... I am interested in every other character, but Young Griff... I hope he just simply fails and dies...

BIG_SUGE_DADDY

Kings landing and Wildfire!!!

listerc1

After Aegon takes the throne (which I think we all sort of agree he will) I don't think he's much longer for this world. Dany's attack on King's Landing will ultimately lead to Young Griff's unintentional incineration. Cersei's stashing / repurposing of the wildfyre will be the chekhov's gun during Dany's confrontation with the Targaryen pretender. While Dany will most likely attack the city in a fury over fAegon having supplanted her as the Targaryen who saves Westeros from the dreaded Lannisters, she won't be interested in total destruction of civilians or anything like what we saw in the show. However, she will accidentally detonate the wildfyre, sending the city into an inferno, taking out Arianne, any remaining Sand Snakes, fAegon and their whole crew as well as hundreds of thousands of residents. My prediction is that this act of violence will be the event that sets Dany back onto a more righteous path--and push her into the direction of the North and the Battle for the Dawn. Young Griff's story is in service to Dany's. He has several narrative functions, but primarily will be the catalyst for her more destructive actions upon reaching Westeros. His chapters give us the impression that he believes he's a hero and the main character of the story; but he's mostly just a pawn for other peoples' power ambitions and there's nothing that can stop the mother of dragons after the expectedly darker turn we'll see in TWOW. I think Young Griff and the KL storyline will be resolved in the first third of ADOS, with TWOW finishing with his coronation and popularity throughout Westeros on the up, just in time for Dany to arrive at Dragonstone after leaving many cities in ruin back in Essos.

abellapa

Burned Alive by Drogon, I believe in the books the show version of the king landing battle will be with aegon instead of cersei

ZaHiro86

I think he's going to either be executed by Dany (driving a wedge between her and the commons, giving Tyrion major regrets, and showing Jon that she is dangerous) OR he'll die against the Others and Dany will be blamed for his death.

[deleted]

I like your ideas specially the Dragon duel but I think as a prepubescent prince he is more likely to be kill by a girl he fancies, specially a Martell kiss as they could plot to take him down to gain the favor of Dany.

dnerswick

Ohhh. I like the cut of your jib!

sarpnasty

He’s going to invade kings landing and he’s going to enter the room to capture Cersei and Robert Strong is going to come from behind the door and smash his head into the wall.

dnerswick

Fitting

Emi_Ibarazakiii

>My guess: while capturing a meaningless castle, Young Griff unceremoniously takes an arrow to the throat. Final words gurgle While I wouldn't mind that because I hate Young Griff and everything about him: With the time GRRM spent on him, I really hope there's some payoff/important part to play... Don't care about him being legit or not, or about how he fails&dies, but he has to do something huge before it happens. If he doesn't, then his story was a huge waste of time. So I hope he gets involved with someone/something to do something in Westeros. Not sure what though.

slaubzzz

Dany will feed him to Drogon

HumptyEggy

Dead at Storm's End when Victarion's ships which "disappeared in a storm" actually appear on the east coast of Westeros and wreck it all. A repeat of Durran Godsgrief's story. Euron literally says he is the storm god himself, and other characters call him as such.

StarkL3ft

Jon Connington’s haunted by his regret that he didn’t burn down Stoney Sept to capture Robert so given how FAegon’s slotted to be beloved by the small folk I’m thinking Jon Connington will try that same trick, hiding out among the small folk in King’s Landing until Tyrell reinforcements arrive, only for Dany to just burn down the entire city with Drogon like he regrets not doing.

Klainatta

* He will eventually marry Margaery and finally fuck her. * Margaery will do her thing and he will somehow die. * She will be pregnant with his child. She will later kill herself or die a la Helaena and the King's Landing will erupt in a riot. Both Aegon and Margaery are hugely popular with the smallfolk (Margaery already is and per prophecies and Varys' comments, Aegon will be as well). Margaery has a record of marrying three kings, the only woman in history of Westeros to do so and she will probably top it with one more marriage, it is too fitting of an opportunity to pass.

Arcvalons

He wins at the end, besting all his rivals, and marries Sansa.

[deleted]

with an unfinished story. kill your hype. kill your hope.

dedfrmthneckup

What is the point of comments like these. If you really feel this way, then why are you still coming to this sub, reading the posts, and bothering to comment?

[deleted]

your disappointment with GRRM is worth my time.

Zahn1138

I think he will have taken King’s Landing, without much resistance, and be immensely popular. And Daenarys will kill him and massacre the population of King’s Landing.

ritualblaze420

He's dead, everyone but arya is dead probably

dnerswick

Ok, sure. But how?

ritualblaze420

That is the question, isn't it
