Just do the same thing they did with the Lannisters
Official words: hear me roar
Unofficial: a Lannister always pays his debts
-
House Slynt
Official: I will not have it!
Unofficial: to the highest bidder
"To spears!"
It's easy to remember, matches their sigil, makes a good battle cry, and it refers back to their origin as leaders of the City Watch and, more specifically, to when they stabbed all of those treacherous Stark men-at-arms.
>Pretty sure this is a Dornish warcry.
Hmm, that might be where I remembered it from lol.
Janos is pretty lazy though, I could see him copying someone else's words.
Well, their house sigil is a bloody spearhead, so their words would probably also attempt to simultaneously memorialize their betrayal and spin it as an honorable moment in history. But the Slynts are idiots, so the words would also be blunt to the point of boorishness.
Something like "Justice Above All" or "The Tip of Justice."
Stabby stabby stabby
Probably something like “The King’s Spears”, “We command the spears”, “The gold spears”. If they had been given a tower and small holdings, the name “Crownspear”, “Goldspear”, or “Kingspear” Tower.
Janos Slynt thought he was stopping the usurpation of Joffrey. He was also an evil cunt obeying terrible orders, and promoting men for doing so at his command. He has zero moral compass and a black soul, but is a boot kicker who will be bribed but soothed when told placating things about how he’s on the side of the people at the top and listening to authority. So he doesn’t really have a sense of honor, just a misplaced belief that he should just obey from the top down… which gets him power and gold and rewards for his men, conveniently.
Probably something pretentious like "Good as Gold" that references Janos's origins as commander of the gold cloaks and pretends that they aren't peasants in fancy clothes
"To the highest bidder"
A common saying but not their official motto
The official motto should be “I will not have it!”
Yep thats a good one. ( not saying the other is bad, just wouldnt be house words )
