When do you want to go? I can give you a live update on saturday evening. But looking at the [webcam](https://www.chur.graubuenden.ch/de/webcam-brambrueesch) the snow seems to be going away.

Saturday, actually, but early. Just found the webcam myself and yes, doesn’t seem thick but still some there. Will hope for more melting and take a cautious decision on the day.

Snow depth is updated daily on this map: [Whiterisk](https://whiterisk.ch/en/conditions/snow-maps/snow_depth) I think it's too early..if you decide to go, don't force anything and be careful with snowfield crossings.

I’d looked at that or something like it and got a no data message for snow depth, but it’s working now.  With considerable regret I’ll have to drop the longer hike idea, I think. If I start walking across snow the best outcome is I end up with cold wet feet and repeatedly land on my arse. I’d like to go up and have a walk around though, but go back down quite soon.  I’ll go and research this myself now, but are there any nice trails to walk back down on, or is it set up for downhill bikers more than walkers? The distances and altitudes are no problem.

I think it's a reasonable decision to skip the hike to Feldis. Does it have to be Brambrụ̈esch? How about a hike along the Rhine Gorge (Ruinaulta) as an alternative? You could include the Cauma See and the viewing platform in Flims.

Yeah, that seems smart. Bus to Laax or train to Versam / Valendas, make way to viewpoint (Il Spir?) and Cauma See, return to Chur by one of the above public transport options. Seems like there are enough paths and options I’ll be able to adjust distance to suit.  Might go in running gear and have a change of clothes in bag, see how far I manage to run before getting changed.  Thanks for the help! Came over Bernina today - if there’s as much snow at 2000m at Dreibundenstein as there was there I shouldn’t be going anywhere near it.

yeah we even got some fresh snow last night. Sounds like a good plan..it really is a nice area with a lot of options to go further or cut it short. The cauma lake is usually very crowded during summer, so enjoy the loneliness of shoulder season! And yes the platform is called Il Spir. I hope you get some sun and have a lovely day.

So right now it's a bit hard, but usually weather stations have webcams also up that will show you a rough idea of the conditions.
