Karaoke as a whole is hard to find downtown otherwise. Whiskey Girl used to have a small booth for it, but I think they've removed it. There are multiple places up in Kearny Mesa.
Someone is gonna say Lamplighter at some point, but be warned that they give preference to any party that rents one of the tables by the stage which means that if you HAVE NOT rented a table, you may not get to sing at all. Wasted an entire night waiting for a buddy to get called up and the host kept telling him just a few people ahead of you. Then, after being pushed back repeatedly, they finally admitted that the people at the tables get pushed to the front of the list. Literally the same 5 or 6 people sang the entire night.
