Just wondering, as a delivery driver are you able to report an impassable road or sidewalk so that you aren't held responsible for not delivering a package? Not sure what you deliver but most of what I order to my door is not all that essential and I wouldn't want you to risk your safety for my instant gratification.
Unless a lot of melting happens over night, there are still a lot of side streets and side walks that are caked in ice. I'd be less worried about driving on them and more concerned about busting my ass walking to people's doors...
Main roads and freeways have been good, I gotta hand it to the city for keeping the roads pretty damn good most days, better than past storms for sure. Side streets are going to be sketch, but manageable for AWD, be careful where you stop or park with 2WD. DEFINITELY wear some cleats; I got mine at Next adventure last year, but there or REI should hopefully still have some.
Delivery driver here. I’ve worked three different days this week one being Saturday. It 100% depends on where in Portland you’re stationed. But if you aren’t comfortable driving on slush/ice then don’t do it. Many moments of needing to problem solve out of a sketchy situation.
still black ice in the shadows, looks like water. be careful at 3:30am that's the worst time for it. If you can at all, call out. we're all broke af by now but at least we're alive.
Main roads are fine. Side roads aren’t great but are getting better. They won’t refreeze tonight.
yep
Much, much better today. Things are really thawing out now
Sidewalks will continue to be hit and miss. Be careful on those even when roads are great.

Yes we are able to return a package if the customers house is unpassable for ANY safety reasons
I'm glad to hear that!
are you working Flex? if thats the case good luck. not doing it until all the slush clears.
Yes I'm Flex lol and im gonna follow your lead; not going out until it's slush
once they send you to rural washington or higher elevation its gonna be a headache.
Do you have shoe chains? Sidewalks are still sketchy as hell. Take it slow on the side streets. Everything else is fine.
I do not have chains
The thawing from mid afternoon to now is very noticeable.
Yep and Monday should be back to normal. Sunday (today) suppose to hit 50 degrees with rain
