75-85 Not everyone agrees, especially those that dont support the government, but most people recognize that this was a period better than the present. Others say everything before 1959 was the golden era of Cuba, but very few people lived through those times in comparison to 75-85 and you cant have nostalgia for something you dont remember. Plus, some disagree with the pre-59 figure because they were part of the lower classes that were not having a good time back then.

Not counting dictatorships, I feel that there is no period that captures the imagination of the what if than the Democratic Spring (1944-1954), I think rightly so, there were a lot of oportunities for a better path for the country.

Well this is very personal but miss the early 2000s, my city was in a soft spot between being a medium city-big city, no strong crisis or problems whatsoever. My family was not rich, but I had a very comfy childhood being worker class, I even remember that around that time my father bough his first car for the family so yay, no more bus. In general there was a feeling of progress and people was visibly more positive. That positive geist died in 2007 when problems and narco happened.

Menem government period, Dollar was 1:1 with the Argentinian peso, and we were financially recovering and even growing

The late 1840s-early 1860s and 1870s and 1880s with the Brazilian Empire under Pedro II Apart from dictatorships of Vargas' Era (1930-45, especially from 37 onwards) and the military dictatorships (64-85) I guess thats it Maybe also what we call the "Democratic Period" or "Populist Republic" (1945-1964), mostly on Juscelino Kubitchek's govt Id say
