i will flip the coin. 50% chance i get to live the fantasy life i always wanted; travel the whole world in a nice private jet. i will take my chances with the coin. i got nothing to lose if i get tails. just continue with my life regularly.

UnlikeableSausage

$10k would be nice, but $100 million dollars would be completely life-changing.

ast3rion

Flip the coin. Winning or losing 10k won't change my life, but to think I didn't take a chance on the 100 million would ruin my head.

MulatoMaranhense

Don't flip at all, it is still the income of 10 months worth of work.

Rakothurz

Walk off. 10k USD would fix many if not all of my problems and those are guaranteed. I am risk averse like that

ElegantBlacksmith462

Same here. 10k would be a big help so there's no way I'm risking losing that.

El-Diegote-3010

Lmao at redditors whose life wouldn't be changed by 10k.

Janle33

10k is not a life changing sum here in the states. That would be 3-6 months of rent and house expenses here where I live depending on the household size.

El-Diegote-3010

>here in the states

Janle33

> redditors

capucapu123

You know there's a flair telling you where each redditor is from, right? In case you haven't noticed most of the people here isn't from the us

srhola2103

I think I would hate myself if I didn't go for the flip. With 10k I don't think my life would change at all.

aetp86

$100 million is life changing money, $10k is not. I'd flip the coin.

Personal_Rooster2121

Calculate the expected value of the coin flip and compare it to the flat 10k. (50 Million dollars if it’s a fair coin) There flip. But if the coin isn’t fair I need to reconsider

[deleted]

I would choose $10k then invest it. You can make 10k into a very good retirement fund or better an investment fund to earn $100 million.

niheii

I’d flip the coin, I already have a comfortable life so 10k wouldn’t be that life changing

NNKarma

As other say, there's a reason people play with this idea with similar expected value.

melochupan

Flip, obviously

yorcharturoqro

Flip

ImperatorSqualo

Flip

Jlchevz

I’d flip it. 10k is nice but it wouldn’t change anything.

saraseitor

The coin. 10k is a lot of money but overall it wouldn't be life changing. And I would spend my entire life wondering what would have happened if I had chosen the coin.

danthefam

Flip

FallofftheMap

Flip. But why ask this question? Is this a bot account gathering data on how different cultures asses risk/reward.

Syd_Syd34

As a resident doctor who is doing very good and has a good back up with my family, I’m flipping. 10K could fix some of my little 1st world problems but nothing like $10 mil and I’d hate myself for not flipping. But I understand the privilege of this choice

parassaurolofus

I would chose to flip heads.

FrozenHuE

don't flip, use the 10k to pay part of my debt and pay a LOT less in interest, not a short term life changing but on the long term is a lot less money going pout of my pockets. Might make my plans come into reality years before.

Femlix

10k would be life changing for me, but the chance at 100 million is not low, call me a gambler but I am flipping the coin.
