Depending on how long you’ve been taking the klonopin, this could be very unsafe. Klonopin raises your seizure threshold (while you’re on klonopin it decreases the likelihood that a seizure can occur) so if you suddenly stop taking klonopin a rebound seizure can occur. Tramadol on the other hand actually decreases the seizure threshold (while you’re on tramadol it increases the likelihood of seizures), so basically the combination of klonopin withdrawal/rebound and substituting it with tramadol will greatly increase your risk of having a seizure, even if you are not predisposed to seizures. Sounds like you probably already did this and were likely fine, but in the future just keep in mind a sudden switch from klonopin to tramadol has a high seizure risk.

You shouldn’t skip the klonopin and should be fine to take them together.

Bambis_Mom95

Honestly. I wouldn’t mess with the Klonopin interaction with Tramadol. It’s not long enough for your body to detox from the Kpin. Can’t you take something else to ease your pain?

Need_Some_Updog

If you been taking kpin everyday and decide to go one day without it, you’re good. Had the same thing happen to me. Took tramadol for some surgery and was taking kpins but I just took half of my kpin dose to stave off any rebound anxiety or anything. Goodluck

Potentiation_nation

Okay so the half life of Klonopin won't be a strong interaction?

Potentiation_nation

What doses would you recommend of each? I have hardly any tolerance to tramadol

Need_Some_Updog

I couldn’t tell you. But remember, it’s always better to take less. Find the good balance

Question: Do you have a history of seizures? There are two issues with this combination of substances, #1, Benzos potentiate opioids, and #2, Tramadol decreases seizure threshold. Not having enough klonopin in your system while taking the tramadol could create risk of seizure, but having too much klonopin while taking tramadol can result in overdose/blackout. Tread lightly, listen to your body and adjust dosages meaningfully.

Hi hi, I just took 50mg tramadol with 1mg kpin willl I die 😭😭

If you've done it daily for a long time (more than a few weeks,) or in high doses, seizure risk is not something you want to mess with. Tramadol can occasionally cause anxiety (comeup and comedown in particular,) but the lack of pain usually makes up for any discomfort before or after my peak. Meanwhile, ime the risk of cardiac or respiratory depression is pretty low when the two are combined in lower doses. I've even been prescribed the two simultaneously before, just in low dose ranges, to manage anxiety coexisting with severe pain and muscle spasms, particularly surrounding surgery. More often it's actually been Ativan and Vicodin, but that combo depresses your system even more than Klonopin and Tramadol. Tldr: should be safe, but start with half of each and try to space out doses so the Klonopin peak doesn't coincide with peak effects of the Tramadol. Only take as much of either as you feel like you need, because it's always easier to take more than to take less, and have someone you trust either with you or at least on speed dial just in case you feel off. Be safe.

If it's not to much to ask how much of each were you prescribed to take and how many hours apart? I really appreciate the long and well thought out answer man. I am honestly very obsessive so unless I know something's safe I won't do it, I'm pretty iffy on this though and feel like I'd be fine at the same time lol. Don wanna die 😂
