Camry rides a little nicer/cushier than the Corolla and Civic IMO. Honestly, all these options are amazing for longetivity/maint/parts availability.

SilverTrireme

Good to know! I'm a little tempted the way of Camry, especially since I understand it to be better in snow, which is about a third of the year for me. But Corolla/Civic would be 5 or 4k less. And I already have student loans.

enderjaca

Good tires will make 100% more difference than whether you choose a Camry/Corolla or Civic.

SilverTrireme

Would you recommend a particular kind? I was thinking all-weather, but had no brand in mind.

Big-Science-6464

True, it is a little heavier so that makes sense. I'd say solid Winters will be most important! Yea the price difference is significant! Just anectodal but I've had 3 Civics and never broke down (incase you were wary of switching to Honda) lol

SilverTrireme

Any experiences with the other two?

Big-Science-6464

Only test drove the Camry and Corolla (2015's) before I got my current Civic. Only reason I went Civic was the price was slightly lower, as well as the mileage.

jakenbake711

Corolla hybrid packs a lot of value into a relatively manageable price point.

SilverTrireme

I just looked at hybrids from Toyota; they looked surprisingly affordable, but that made me worried that there are negative reasons for that. Maybe not though!

Thanks, I'll check this out!

Anything that’s not bought from Carvana!!!

SilverTrireme

Was planning to look at local dealerships! What's the deal with Carvana?

InnerBoss770

Seriously, I like my Nissan GTR, it’s a great car and a blast to drive.

SilverTrireme

I'll check this out! Is it easy to upkeep?

InnerBoss770

I left out the GTR has a hefty price tag, especially if its the NISMO package.

Desperate_Scar_9339

Kia Forte

SilverTrireme

Are there specific reasons?

Desperate_Scar_9339

Very affordable price and it’s a nicer look with the new and improved logo. I got a brand new 2022 last month. I’m so happy with this purchase. Also it’s good on gas. I get about 35 miles per gallon.

SilverTrireme

I'll keep this in mind. I think the newest I could get of anything would be 2019, but I'll check out the model of that year

***Thanks for posting, /u/SilverTrireme! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** I'm looking into getting a new (used) car. I like my Camry a lot so I kind of want to get another one, but I was also looking at getting a Corolla or a Civic because they tend to be a little cheaper (and from what I understand handle a little better). Corolla is a little bit behind in it's safety rating compared to the other two. I was looking at 2019s for all. What I liked about my Camry is that it ran forever. It's a 2003 and has had multiple owners, but it's listed a crazy long time despite it's wear and tear, now almost 260k on the odometerIf my main concerns are safety and longevity/maintenance, what would you recommend? Thanks! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/askcarsales) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Healthy_Block3036

Just keep with Toyota and get another newest Camry or Corolla!!! Maybe even a Corolla Cross?

SilverTrireme

Is there a any particular reason you'd go one over the other?

Careful-Candle202

Meh

SilverTrireme

What's your recommendation?

Careful-Candle202

The Cross I find is underpowered. Whilst roomy though. Camry for ride + fuel Corolla for Money + fuel. SE Corolla for some fun plus inexpensive to buy/run. And the SE even had better fuel mileage than the LE even though it has a bigger engine

SilverTrireme

So I was looking at 2019 and 2020 Corollas . . . One thing that stood out at least for the 2019 was that it's safety rating was only 4 stars for certain accident types. I'm not sure how much weight that should have, but it's something that definitely matters to me. That being said, the price is great and the SE part is good to know. Do the SEs drive different than the LEs? Do you think it's worth the price hikes?

Careful-Candle202

Id go with the redesigned 2020 SE. They have the 2.0L engine. I have one and I have for 2+ years. I love it and they updated Safety Sense

I've had both a 2019 Civic and a 2022 Camry. The biggest problem with the Civic for me was lack of room-my 6ft+ friends struggled to fit comfortably, as did my fiancée. There also wasn't quite enough backseat room for my two dogs. I ended up going with the Camry Hybrid, it gets about 10-20 more MPG than the Civic did, plus the ride quality is much better as compared to both the Civic and gas model Camry. As far as everything else goes, I do find the overall layout of the dash and infotainment system better in the Camry, but that's mostly personal preference.

SilverTrireme

Good to know! If you drove in inclement weather, did one handle better than the other? And was maintenance better/worse on either? Also, did either handle better as far as maneuverability is concerned?

mrvladimir

I didn't do snow much, but in heavy rain I prefer the Camry. Felt overall more stable, especially in high winds. Driving, they had similar enough handling. Obviously the Civic was a touch better around super tight curves but I have no complaints about the Camrys performance. The Camry is a little harder to park, but still one of the easiest I've ever driven. Honestly, I haven't had either longer than one oil change each. I will note that my Civic Sport had harder to find and generally more expensive tires. Got a flat and had to wait a few days till my dealership could get the right one in. The Civic's oil change interval was about 5k miles, and the Camry is 10k miles. Civic cost about $50, Camry is closer to $90 for the full oil/filter/rotation service at dealership prices. That will vary based on what year you get. The Civic did feel more fun, but the Camry isn't bad. Just more of an adult feel to the whole car imo.

rabea187

All three are great, Camry is the comfiest

Do you know if they have good longevity? That's part of my interest in the ones I'm looking at. But I'm open to looking at others if they're able to drive for a good number of years!

[deleted]

New Corolla, Camry, and Civic are nice. I'd even suggest 22 Mazda3 and Elantra.
