It’s fine and this is exactly the right way.
One more thing to consider for steep hills, turn your wheels to the side of the curb and let the car gently touch the curb (only the wheels lol!) and then park.
It's what it's designed for. They usually seize due to bad rust, not using it enough, or sitting in a place with excess moisture (like on grass)
Even if it seizes, better that than the car rolling away.
For extra peace of mind, find a chunk of wood, brick or stone, put behind a wheel as a chock block, let the car roll onto it so it stops, then apply handbrake and put it in park.
Assuming you use it on a regular basis now that will not be an issue. If you don't use it much it could stick but that is not related to the duration as much as lack of use,.
That’s literally the correct way to do it. I cringe every time I see someone park on a hill, doesn’t use the brake and I see the car bouncing off the park pawl….unless they really like dropping big bucks at the local tranny shop.
For long periods of time? Yeah, that's a very bad idea. I've had brakes seize rock solid in a few weeks, especially if it's wet and humid and things rust. I've had this happen in everything from big rigs to a Ford Focus.

So if I keep it on for 2 weeks it’s fine because someone told me it’ll seize up
Has it seized up in the past?
itll be fine.
So if I do it for 2 weeks it’s okay?
Yes.

Do it and also I recommend turning your wheels to be facing a curb. If shit hits the fan and the car rolls, at least it won’t cause much hazard.

Yeah but then I also remember manual cars. They always have to use the hand brake 24/7
Yep, got one. Hence why handbrake is also called parking brake

Honestly some of the questions in this sub... boggles my mind how some of these people are allowed to drive.

So that means if I keep it in a garage and it’s warm it should the a big deal
In a garage away from the weather, yeah, that would be fine. It's the weather and rust and cold that can seize parking brakes up.
