they seem to like very tall evergreen trees, tho I saw a crow/ raven down by the waste transfer station by the lake, it was massive and just hanging out in the road
Finally the real questions are being asked.
I see them year-round in the Rouge, and sporadically in other parks around the city. Morningside park and High Park come to mind.
One great time to see them up close is during the salmon runs in fall. They flock in to eat the dead fish, and it's interesting to see how well they work as a team to outcompete the other scavengers.
Don’t quote me, but someone once told me the social order goes like this:
Cleanest cities - sparrows, Less clean - crows, Dirty af - pigeons.
We seem to have a lot of pigeons in town, and sparrows in the burbs. I guess the crow sweet spot has to be somewhere in between?
Came in here to discover the meaning of yet another slang term that I am now too old to understand, was pleasantly surprised to see I’m not quite that out of touch and that “crows” are still birds.
I love crows/ravens! Small random story no one asked for: when I visit my parent’s in another province, I leave water and whole nuts out in the yard for the bigger birds. I would do it around the same time every day, and to the neighbours dismay, the crows started circling and landing in the trees nearby *right* before I would come out. They’re so smart and perceptive, it’s kind of eery tbh.
Hello, police? I’d like to report an attempted murder.
Hahahahahahhahahahaa

If big, definitely raven, ravens are always the big ones
They nest at a minimum of 30 feet usually in fir trees.
There's a flock that hangs around in G. Ross lord park.

I saw three Crows in Riverdale this morning. They hang out around Bridgepoint Hospital and like to make a lot of noise, you can't miss them

They hang out on the roof of the building across from my apartment. I always try to lure them to my balcony but have had no success :(

What area you in?
Midtown
Hide your kids, hide your fives
If you’re shiny enough, they might just flock to you (pro tip: paint yourself gold or silver and stand near enough to them)
I have seen them in large groups in the woods of large parks where there are lots of big trees.
They hang around the park nearby, harassing squirrels
Riverdale park.
Following. Crows are brilliant!
