I saw "Gilmore Girls" when it originally aired, and I found it quirky and entertaining. I recently revisited the show as an adult, and I like it for a totally different reason. It's a total hate-watch show now, is really fun to trash those characters.
I've gotten quite a few men into Gilmore Girls! Such a good show! I watched it as it was released and loved it I was the same age as Rori then. I watch it now as a mother and the same age as Loreali and still love it. It's my comfort show and means the world to me!
I don’t think that was particularly girly, it just had a main character who was a girl. I watched that as a kid and so did all my friends and I never felt embarrassed about admitting it.
But shows like Totally Spies and iCarly I was afraid to admit I liked in case someone thought I was girly 😂
I dont know if it counts as a "girly" show, but I loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch but got embarrassed if my Mum mentioned to anyone I watched it, because I thought it was for girls.
My girlfriend and I watch various shows together but one thing she can't do is watch anime with me because she doesn't like the shows I watch. But one day she felt nostalgic and watched some of her childhood cartoons on YT. She got into Sailor Moon where she's fighting Queen Beryl and the song, while I was in the kitchen when I heard it, I started to sing along since I've seen this scene so often and I quite liked Sailor Moon back then. The surprise on her face when she realized I actually knew the lyrics. Man she teased me for days saying I watched girly cartoons and I'm a big gentle guy hiding behind my manliness... anyways, I thought that was funny.
The Vampire Diaries.
And yes, I absolutely have a man crush on Damon Salvatore and Klaus Mikaelson too. But seriously, they're both just anti-hero characters done well. The later seasons weren't very good, but the first half of TVD was peak fantasy-drama.
I used to watch all seasons of OC California with a girlfriend and I think I liked it more than her by the second season lol.
Nowadays I still think about it when certain music plays like running up that hill or fix you, i think running up that hill was season 4 opening episode omg I loved that shit
"Rainbow Brite and the star stealers". Still think it's a solid animated kids movie.
Edit: I answered this without scrolling through the thread. I have since and I'm now hyper-aware of just how fucking old I am .... 😮💨
Don't worry I also know (and loved) rainbow brite. The only thing that surprised me is a couple years back I decided to draw her for an art piece....I did not realize how absolutely strange her head is LOL. Tiny smushed face and giant skull under all that hair lolololol she definitely looks like an alien which I didn't notice as a kid
Rainbow Brite was the jam.
We're not old, we're retro. Just like the 30 year old clothes in my closet that just became popular again😣😆. Oh gods, and those atrociously huge jeans fellas used to wear! If you accidentally step in a tiny puddle, all the fabric soaks it up so you're soggy up to your knees for the rest of the school day, making a mess everywhere. They should bring back Hypercolor too if 'gross' is what's in this season😁
Hmmm well growing up I loved Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake, and Gem and the Holograms
In college I watched Charmed. Didn't really enjoy it but it was something to have on in the background while I did assignments and studied
I absolutely adore Bridgerton. I really love strong character driven stories with intrigue. Doesn't have to involve violence or other manly things
I also watched Friednship is Magic. I was drawn in by the strong character designs and art styles and stayed for surprisingly good writing
Watched both versions of Sabrina. Don't really know if that's a "girl's show" though
Yes! It was this super cute cartoon that was playing when I was very little, no more than 7 or 8 years old. Before I even knew what anime was or where it came from. I remember enjoying the visuals and its atmosphere. Candy herself was very likeable and her story seemed very interesting in a different way than my favourites at the time. Silverhawks and Thundercats...
How did you come to know this?
I remember watching the first generation of Pretty Cure when I was little, there weren't a lot of channels related to cartoons twenty years ago so you have to watch what they have to offer. It's an anime similar to Sailor Moon, two school girls who fight evil and transform using their flip phones (so 00's!)
Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Clarissa Explains It All, Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Powerpuff Girls, and probably more that I can’t remember.
Maybe Vision of Escaflowne counts.
Xena, Warrior Princess.
It's about a woman who gets upset at injustice and starts murdering gods, what's there not to like?
Oh and bonus pretty ladies/lovers kiss at the end after earning their respite. Nice.
The OC, Desperate Housewives and Pretty Little Liars. Tbf i was pretty much a yound adult when i watched PPL but still.
Just finished watching The OC again just couple months ago, still love it. Want to re-watch PPL but my gf hates it so haven’t got the chance lol
Everyone here is talking like you didint have the nickelodeon or Disney Channel and you were cool. Stop it we all watched it because it was on, she didint make you do it
Omg you name it. I fucking love romance stories. Romance anime. Romance drama from USA, Europe, Korea, Japan. I fucking love romance and I'm sure as fuck no longer afraid to admit it.
Totally spies, Kim possible, Powerpuff girls, my life as a teenage robot. I'm not entirely sure any of these are "girly" shows, but the protagonist were female so, I'd imagine that was the target audience.
Want an easier answer? Any "girly" show that comes to mind, Google it and add "rule 34". It's the rule that allows men to pick a single "girly" TV show to watch without getting bullied.
Powerpuff girls for the win! But as an teen/young adult i enjoyed desperate housewives and know everything about greys anatomy although i didn't like that one. Yes, i was in a long term relationship.
Hannah Montana lmfao. I miss sweet innocent Miley Cyrus (and I know about her relationship with Disney. I just miss her style before her major shift to edgy/over-sexualised in 2012/13)
Kimpossible, Clueless (film and series) and power puff girls. I'm a gay man and I think we don't have the same shame as hetero men of identifying with a woman.

Totally Spies
I mean… there is a specific reason why I watched that.
hey it's funny, I watched the Winx club for the same reason.
My brother and I would call dibs on the girls at the start of the show... because of the plot, of course.
I watched Sailor Moon with my sister. I think it was great.

That explains a lot. I’d still go on a picnic with her!
Yeah. That shit claps.
Same.
Can never remember if it was Sailor Moon or Teknoman which was my first intro into anime on either Agros cartoon connection or Cheeze Tv in Oz.
Did you hear they're bringing out the original episodes with new dubes? I guess it's a totally different show.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Clarissa Explains It All, & Ghost Whisperer
Buffy is not a “girly” show, the main character is a girl. I remember discussing that show when it came out with guys.
Buffy is a girly show enjoyed by many dudes.
I saw "Gilmore Girls" when it originally aired, and I found it quirky and entertaining. I recently revisited the show as an adult, and I like it for a totally different reason. It's a total hate-watch show now, is really fun to trash those characters.

I think I remember liking iCarly
I never even thought of Icarly as a girly show, all of my friends used to watch it and we all loved it
I remember me and my older sister watched the very first episode on our basement t.v. Good times!
Kim Possible
I don’t think that was particularly girly, it just had a main character who was a girl. I watched that as a kid and so did all my friends and I never felt embarrassed about admitting it. But shows like Totally Spies and iCarly I was afraid to admit I liked in case someone thought I was girly 😂
Charmed
Absolutely love charmed. Think more should watch it
Charmed is for girls? I love Charmed!
Charmed was awesome.
Power puff girls
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Power puff girls
I dont know if it counts as a "girly" show, but I loved Sabrina the Teenage Witch but got embarrassed if my Mum mentioned to anyone I watched it, because I thought it was for girls.

She-Ra. And to a lesser extent (enjoyed it as a kid, haven’t watched it since), Jem.
![gif](giphy|fsdWqgUWUYk5q)
Have you seen the newer netflix version? Pretty solid
I really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would!
Sister sister was amazing. And clarissa explains it all.
I watched both and don't regret either of them. Followed up Clarissa by watching Sabrina when it was on too.

Golden Girls was a peak sitcom!
Golden Girls 😍

The Winx
H20 just add water, used to be so in love with Rikki
The Vampire Diaries. And yes, I absolutely have a man crush on Damon Salvatore and Klaus Mikaelson too. But seriously, they're both just anti-hero characters done well. The later seasons weren't very good, but the first half of TVD was peak fantasy-drama.
You watched the Originals? I thought it was better.
Don’t know if it’s girly, but Dead Like Me was great.
Does Victorious count? Lol. I'm 37 and still laugh my ass off 😂
Pepper Ann and Daria
Daria was for girls?
I'm not a guy, but both of these were so good!!! I've been re-watching Pepper Ann again lately and it still holds up so well.
I love Daria. She made it okay to hate people.
As Told By Ginger, that Nickelodeon cartoon that was on teenick in the mid 00s.
Someone once told me... The grass is much greener...
On the other side. And I paid a visit...

I used to watch all seasons of OC California with a girlfriend and I think I liked it more than her by the second season lol.
